A friend of mine I work with went to high school at Euless Trinity.  He told me they have a large population of Tongan families in that area.  Tonga is an island near Samoa.  They grow some big people from that part of the world.

He said it is not uncommon to have several 300+ lb players on the roster. 

The hair is a culture thing for those guys as well.
