2020 HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PREVIEWS

C.E. KING PANTHERS

2019 Record: 7-4 Overall; 4-3 Overall

4th Place in District 21-6A

 

In 2019, the C.E King Panthers continued to gain their footing in Class 6A, qualifying for the playoffs in back to back seasons.  With a seasoned offense (nine starters return), head coach Derek Fitzhenry hopes to make that streak three in a row in a new look 21-6A.

 

COACHING

Assistant Coaches: George Young (Defensive Coordinator), Aaron Keesee (Offensive Coordinator), Thomas Dunson (Linebackers), Jonathan Mallard (Defensive Backs), Walt Moreham (Defensive Line), Adrian Madis (Running Backs), Marshall Lyons (Wide Receivers)

 

OFFENSE

Nine starters return to the C.E. King spread offense in 2020. Senior quarterback Kameron Kincheon (63-110, 727 yd, 7 TD) returns to guide the Panther defense.  Senior back Cody Russi, senior running back D.K. Hamilton and junior back Jerrell Wimbly will share the rushing load.  Senior wide outs Jeremy Gonzales (2nd team all-district), Reggie Brown (2nd team all-district) and Ty'Jai Pollard return along with senior tight end Roger Davis (1st team all-district offensive lineman).  Senior linemen Zhkel Grant (2nd team all-district), Van Wells (2nd team all-district at tight end) and Jalen Cooper all return to a line which will also include junior Josh Lane.

 

DEFENSE

Five starters return to the C.E. King defense in 2020.  Senior defensive tackle Cameron Taylor (1st team all-district), senior defensive end Will Evans (1st team all-district) and junior defensive end Marque Williams (2nd team all-district) return to lead the Panther offensive line.  Junior inside linebacker Roy Morris (2nd team all-district) and sophomore linebacker Bill Dickman will back the defensive line.  Senior cornerback Josiah Ruano (1st team all-district) and junior Ja'Kobe Crawford will anchor the C.E. King secondary.

 

SPECIAL TEAMS

Sophomore Chris Bonilla will do the place kicking for C.E. King. The punting and return duties will be finalized during fall practice.
