2019 FOOTBALL TEAM PREVIEWS

CROCKETT BULLDOGS

2018 Record: 7-4 Overall, 4-2 District

3rd Place in District 11-3A-I

The 2018 season was another successful one for the Crockett Bulldogs as a 7-4 overall record and 4-2 district mark was enough to qualify for Jimmy Thompson's Bulldogs to again make the playoffs.  But a one game stay in the playoffs is not what folks in Crockett expect.  In order to get farther in playoffs, the Bulldogs will rely on seven returning offensive starters and nine returning starting defenders.

Head Coach: Jimmy Thompson

Assistant Coaches: Ronnie Nelson (Defensive Coordinator), Cash Thompson (Offensive Co-Coordinator), Edward Arledge (Offensive Co-Coordinator), Tony Peoples, Jimmy Evans, Cole Permberton, Randy Redkey, Kadrian Bryant, Zach Dowell, Gary Grubbs, Johnny Ervin, Frederick Davis

Offense:

Seven starters return to the Crockett offense in 2019.  Senior quarterback Jordan Bedford (1st team all-district) will return to guide the Bulldog offense.  Senior running back Joseph Porter returns to spearhead the Crockett rushing attack along with sophomore back Keshun Easterling and freshman Courtney Byrd.  Senior tight end Allen Horace (2nd team all-district), senior wide out Shannon Bacon and senior slot Cristian Brice will again be the primary receivers in the Bulldog passing game.  Senior lineman Carlos Navarro (1st team all-district) and senior center Walker Robinson return to solidify the offensive line.

Defense:

Nine starters return to the Crockett defense in 2019.  Horace (1st team all-district) returns to his defensive end spot and senior linemen Jared Gilford and Weston Reeves will return to the offensive line.  Senior linebackers Jakecian Jones (2nd team all-district) and Amyron Dixon return to the linebacker corp.  Senior cornerbacks Christian Brice (1st team all-district) and Ja'Lynne Carruthers (1st team all-district) return to a secondary that will also include Byrd and fellow freshman Xzavian Walker.

Special Teams:

Sophomore Antonio Cruz (1st team all-district) will return to do the place kicking for Crockett and sophomore Omar Garcia will do the punting.  Porter will be the primary kick returner.
