Recommended Posts

When I saw him play last year could  tell he was going to be a really good one. He is worth the drive to watch play and hope he has a great year along with Nederland.

This guy has one more year to play and he already committed and then he changed it. He probably will change it again if he is as good as advertised in his senior year. Guys need to play their senior years and weigh the goods and bads of programs before they commit. Other programs that fit his style of play may make offers in the next year. I would suggest juniors to hold out until the best offer comes and then along with their parents make a well thought out decision.

every D1 college offers the same thing, a full ride

He is a junior making a verbal commitment. Why announce it now! He has not signed anything and either will or won't until Feb. 08. If he waits he can get to see how he will fit on the depth chart after injuries, graduation, people kicked off team, people quiting or transferring and NFL wannabes leave school. You are talking about over a year before he would step on a campus. Mack Brown could be at another school and the recruiter he dealt with could be somewhere else. The recruiting process is involved. Anyone who has been recruited or around those that have been know that most of the time waiting is usually the best thing to do. UT is always loaded maybe he should go somewhere where he could start as a frosh or at least be able to compete for a starting spot. Waiting would allow him to consider those things. I've never seen him play. Apparantly he is good if he got offers from A&M and UT. More offers will come this summer if he goes to the one day camps and standsout or after the 2007 season if he has another great one. I hope it works out for him wherever he goes. :)

    • What the writer stated wrt crossover votes in the primary/runoff: "Covey and his supporters Paxton and Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick said Phelan only won because Democrats crossed over to vote in the Republican Primary for him. Paxton said Covey’s campaign identified “at least” 1,442 Democrats who voted early in Jefferson County in the primary runoff. Texas does not have party registration, but a voter’s primary voting history is public. The Covey campaign has not released its methodology behind its claim, but  This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up  by The Texan news website found that 9% of Republican voters in the March District 21 primary had voted in one of the previous four Democratic primaries. However, only 5% of that group had voted in all four previous Democratic primaries. What Phelan’s opponents did not mention is historically Democratic Jefferson County is undergoing a political transition towards the Republican party — the county judge switched his affiliation to the GOP in 2017 — so many residents have a mixed primary voting history. And Phelan’s allies in the House dismissed the idea that liberals swung the election. "I knocked on doors, hundreds and hundreds of doors, made calls for Dade,” Republican Rep. Jeff Leach, R-Plano, said on Mark Davis’ radio program Wednesday. “I did not speak to a single Democrat down here in HD21. Not a single one." "
