Cedar Hill HC offered assistant position at Texas!

Joey McGuire, the head coach of the 2-time defending 5A (and 4A) division 2 state champion Cedar Hill HS, has been offered an assistant coach position at the University of Texas, per Bleacher Report.

If it pans out, then smart move by Strong.  It makes sense to hire a successful coach from a winning football program.  HS Coaches will let him in the door and have easy access to recruits simply because of HS background as a Championship winning coach (tapping into that good ole boy network).  It's all about recruiting these days and these guys know how to approach the hs coaching staffs and hs recruits.  

 

Chad Morris took a similar route by hiring Coach Mathis from Desoto.
