Judge denies NCAA's delay request, orders antitrust lawsuit to trial

Statement from the plaintiffs Attorney:

''What I expect to happen after a ruling in favor of the plaintiffs by the judge at trial is that individual colleges or conferences will make their own rules in respect to licensing rather than the NCAA,'' said Edelman, an associate professor of law at City University of New York who specializes in sports and antitrust issues. This is a movement from an illegal restraint of trade toward a free market, and I very much like their chances at trial.''

If this happens you will see the beginning of the death of the NCAA and the beginning of the Super Conferences (with little or no supervision) and the smaller universities will suffer greatly if this happens.  While I am not fan of the NCAA if it dies who will supervise the conferences - themselves (lol)?  Also, I would expect that all sports other than Football and Basketball to suffer as well.

Will be interesting to see how this develops.
