Track Meets in S.E. Texas

List Track Meets you are aware of in S.E. Texas. Trinity Valley Relays in Liberty March 2nd. Gid Campbell Relays in Anahuac on March 9th. I think Silsbee is Having theirs on March 30th. Any others?

Probably alot less than usuall b/c they changed it up.  Isnt it usually the first meet of the year around that area?  There having it the same day as BH this year.  Better comp. and much better facilities.

Facilities for fans, coaches and athletes (when they aren't on the track).  Liberty's stands for the track are very small and its a difficult place to watch a meet.  If the track was in the football stadium it would be great.

Was that a serious question?  Just to add to Hillguys comment, the track, the stands, the competition, and the whole atmosphere.  Barbers Hill is a much better place to go with your athletes.

Well, maybe Im weird, but as an athlete I could care less if the seats in the stands were pretty blue, the consesion stand had cool ranch doritos, or if the bathroom had mirrors. Who cares.

    Maybe the fans. But where do they fit in a coaches decision when hes trying to schedule a meet?

well, as a coach, I had that decision and made it.  the atmosphere, how the coaches and athletes are treated, and How the overall meet is ran do play into where some teams go.  Oh yeah, and BH has lights.

hahahahaha!!!! You must be kidding!?! Liberty always conducts meets FAST. And Im not even going to comment on how everyone is "treated".

Sorry to confuse you pantherparticipant, No one from Liberty or Liberty County is worth feelings getting hurt.  You want to do a poll and see how many schools would come to your meet vs. one like BH, Nederland, New Caney, or any others go for it.  All I was stating is that as a coach those things play into it.  Obviously your a player from Liberty and don't know any better.  Your Forgiven.

ease up.. Playa v. Playa..Both teams Have good facilities. I've ran at and coached at both. You cant compare to BH.. 2 words Hospitality Room!! None in the L. yeah a coach that spends 6 hours there does care Panterplayer.

You really opened my eyes ncplaya! I mean, now Im asking myself a lot of questions. Like, WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT!!!!!!!!  A track is a track. Unless its falling apart, I really dont think where your at effects your speed. Some people, like you, might think your running faster with all that warm southern barbers hill hospitality but, IM NOT BUYIN' IT. Maybe one day unisef will get into the track meet business and we can all feel cozy while we run around. But until then I guess poor Liberty county citizens like me will have to wait.

pantherplaya i have run at the liberty track and i wasnt impressed the track is to hard and who cares about the meet going fast barbers hill runs a meet right including prelims and finals thats why girls and guys are run on seperate days.....i think all meets should be hosted like BH's
