643
Whats up with all the "Es" I'm seeing,, most every game I look at the box scores I see multiple Es . Even the state ranked teams are racking up on E's. Sometimes 1 E will cost you the game but with 2-5 per game how can it not hurt a pitchers frame of mind...... shell005m

Peppermint Patty
Chicks dig the long ball. Just like high school basketball players that practice trying to dunk all day and spend very little time shooting free throws, high school baseball players spend most of their time in the cages hitting dingers and very little time taking ground balls/fly balls. Hence, the increase in "errows". All Sports Fan, SteelerCzy, twilyms and 2 others

IT'S IN THE BONE
Arrows...lol! sorry...anyway they are part of the game no matter what level...hitting is worked on more vigorously because it is the hardest part of the game. A player goes to the hall of fame for failing a little less than 7 trips out of 10 to the dish. Yes a team has to defend the hit ball...defense "infield" is not as romantic as hitting to the young player so that's where a coach has to step in and insist on working the fielding aspect of the game. Now outfield is a whole other animal. It's where the defensive hero's are made...ESPN highlight reel...a real outfielder is like a Lab...they live to chase and track the fly ball and field the grounder on the run to show off that cannon to the doubting base runner who is attempting that extra base...the tag up falls in this category as well! But hitting...it that day dream of parking one just at the right moment and winning it all...I can see why baseball players spend so much time working on it...Coach has to make hitting the reward for fielding well and that's not easy because a coach has keep hitters on the field. It's a real tight rope to walk.
