  1. 5-3 HJ bot 7th - BC hit a long ball but it was caught right at the fence - would have been a 2 run homer.
  2. Jasper has really fallen apart here of late.. What is going on over there? Granted, I know 21-3A has got to be the toughest in the state, but i'm still in awe.
  3. I think that BC 10 run ruling everyone the past few years has just really hurt them in playing the full 7 inning games.. Playing the full 7 innings will hopefully allow BC to get better than the past years, and finally get the ring that they've been hunting for.
  4. c'mon guys, how childish can this get? WOS92 is an Adult, i'm not sure about the others, but it's time to drop the subject. We all know WOS is far superior to BC (because they are, record proves that). Since BC and WOS didn't play each other in the early 2000's, who cares, it's a moot point, we will never know, because those games never happened. Same thing applies to the Freshman game, it didn't happen, so who cares, moot point. Could BC have beaten the Freshman team? Maybe, but we will never know, regardless of who is to blame (is anyone really to blame?) for the combining of the Fresh/JV. I know a lot of BC folks aren't fans of WOS, but geez, it's time to drop it and move on. Will BC ever beat WOS? Yes, someday. When? next year, 5 years, 10 years? That is unknown. Regardless, it will take BC many, many years, and by then, i'll probably be in my 80's god willing, which is a looong way for me -- I'm in my upper 20's right now for BC to ever catch up to WOS's record against BC, and for that to happen, the Mustangs would have gone from one of the winningest teams in the state, to the one of the worst teams in the state. I'll go out on a limb and say BC will never surpass (in my lifetime) WOS record against BC. I'll always be a BC fan, win or lose, and when we stink, we stink, when they rock, they rock. i'm just thrilled to see BC PASSING the ball now. WOS, Good luck in the playoffs, make 21-3A Proud as we know you can!
  5. Very well said Gasilla -- I can't believe that so many folks are bellyaching over 15 minutes of the Senior last night on the field. It's a blasted football game, and it's a Friday night, whats an additional 15 minutes?
  6. We all know BC isn't going to beat WO-S, but why does everytime a BC fan says anything could happen, they get ripped a new one? I know WO-S will score at will, and probably will score nearly everytime they get the ball, if not every time. But sheesh, let us BC folks support our team in any way that we can, we need to at least have that since we have an 0-10 season again.
  7. It wasn't BC who wanted to get rid of Tarver -- Tarver's wife had accepted a job in Ft. Worth, so he wanted to be with family, of course. Honestly, I don't think Tarver could have had done any better this season, these guys are just so very young and very inexperienced. I'm very concerned w/ what Kirbyville & WO-S will do to BC, and not even on purpose! One thing that I give those boys out on the field, they play till the end, and for that, what more could you ask for on a extremely bad season. Everyone knew from BC going into this season that we might be lucky to win 3 games this season, but I really never did picture an 0-10 season.. Maybe BC can do the ultimate sneakup on one of the remaining teams. Either way, those boys could have just said screw it and forfeit the season, thankfully, they have enough respect for themselves than to do that.
  8. It was a joke. I really HATE to say this, but I think OField defeats BC easily, and I really think the final will be 42 - 10 OF -- I'm REALLY pulling for a W for my Cardinals -- As I said before, NO TEAM should EVER have go not win a game, but, if that's the cards being dealt, oh well, BC will be back ;D
  9. Well, we know ONE of these teams won't go winless this season, but who ??? I Predict quadruple overtime tied at 0, whoever wins will win by 6
  10. looks to be a Hurricane here in just about 30 minutes or so! WOW! Recon has found 80MPH Surface winds..
  11. only thing I got was a baseball game that I could care less about (Texas Rangers)..ugghh..
  12. The big "E" stands for all these boys need to have their eyes checked!
  13. Awesome! A Bit of a better game for both teams, still a lot of E's committed! Those have GOT to stop! Congrats Cards! NOW Hopefully let's win the series tomorrow! Hard fought battle! as mentioned last night, whichever teams reps 21-3A, bring home the gold!
  14. no kidding, and now that has proved costly to the Cards!
  15. they had already replaced them after yesterdays game, the scoreboard got so hot for the first time ever in the E column, that it melted the back end of the SB
  16. It's actually off HWY 69 in Beaumont, closeby to Lamar. The easiest route is to exit HIGHLAND AVE off HWY 69, turn left onto Highland, go 5 streets up (Shold be E. Florida) take a RIGHT onto Florida, you'll see the field up the road about a mile to the right. Otherwise, go down HWY 69 and exit MLK Drive, turn left onto MLK, and turn left onto E. Florida, ballpark will be down the road on the left
  17. There's no one else like Orange Counties own Gabe! Great writeups! I could care less what their Gabe has to say after Saturday! lol.
  18. Lufkin's KTRE TV Station and NWS only shows a 20% of rain for Saturday.
  19. Here's the article by the Carthage sports writer. [Hidden Content] Bridge City deals first loss to 'Dogs By GABRIEL D. BROOKS Friday, May 25, 2007 JASPER — An undefeated record and No. 1 state ranking by the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association accompanied Carthage entering its Class 3A Region III semifinal series opener against No. 9 Bridge City here Thursday night. After Thursday's Game 1, the Bulldogs will get to find out what it's like to play with a loss and their backs against the wall. LSU-bound outfielder Johnny Dishon and pitcher Jeff Stringer propelled Bridge City to a 6-2 win over Carthage as Dishon provided the punch from the plate and Stringer helped the Cardinals out of a couple of jams. Dishon went 2-for-3 with two home runs and three RBIs, while Stringer pitched a complete game, yielding only two earned runs and scattering seven hits with 12 strikeouts and four walks. Carthage's Garrett Smith roped an RBI double into left-center field to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead in the first, but the lead was short-lived and the only one 28-1 Carthage would have the entire game. After tying the game in the second, Bridge City (26-6-1) got what proved to be the game-winning hit from Dishon in the bottom of the third. Dishon unloaded on the first pitch he saw, blasting a two-run homer over the left-center field fence and posing en route to first base to give the Cardinals a 3-1 lead they wouldn't relinquish. Carthage had two chances later in the game to tie or possibly regain the lead, but both times the Bulldogs came up short. Carthage loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the fifth, but mustered a lone run. David Rollins grounded into a double play that scored Khris Tate to cut Bridge City's lead to 3-2. The Bulldogs' second missed opportunity proved more costly. Still trailing by one run in the top of the sixth inning, Taylor Harris drew a one-out walk and Derrick "Bubba" Loofboro singled to right to put two men on with one out. But after a strikeout, Tate took a ball that was bobbled in the dirt, causing Harris to break for third where he was tagged out for the final out of the inning. Bridge City capitalized on Carthage's missed opportunity with three runs in the bottom half of the inning. Dishon parked his second homer, a solo shot, over the left field fence before Chase Leger scored on an error and Jaden Dillon drove in Daniel Wiley to put Bridge City up 6-2. Jonathon Baker and Tate led off the seventh with singles to give the Bulldogs a glimmer of hope, but a fielder's choice and a strikeout sabotaged the rally. Smith went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Tate was 2-for-4 with a pair of singles. Rollins pitched the whole game for Carthage, striking out six while walking one. The junior left-hander gave up four earned runs on eight hits. Game 2 is Saturday at noon at Lufkin's Morris Frank Park. If necessary, Game 3 will follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.
  20. 6 Carthage runners left on base so far, middle of the 4th.
