Any team in district could argue that they have the 2nd best keeper in district because only the 1st best is officially recognized. And as i have said in previous posts, the usual excuse for Nederland is that they are young and are growing, but will end up coming up short this year. Haven't been around in the area much the past few years so i haven't gotten to see any teams play, but if someone says that PNG is returning a decent team I'd say that they will come out on top because of the new coaching staff there. But that wont come easy, this is a real tough district and there are usually a few teams who surprise and come out strong. Good luck to all!

[/quote] Every year Nederland is said to be a 'powerhouse' because they have such good players, but every year when they lose any game, especially in the playoffs, the excuse is always 'Nederland is a young team, they will be better next year'! Been hearing it for years!

i don't mean to but in because i'm not an alumni from either school, but i think it would be an awesome idea for some schools in this area to set up an alumni team for a couple of friendly matches against the others!!! I'd be all over that!

Nederland is a fairly good team, but they will not win district. This is LCM's year! I've watched both teams play and Nederland doesn't match up to LCM's strength, speed, aggressiveness, and attack. Nederland can pass the ball well......? :-*

Pretty decent game to watch. I noticed both teams didn't have a solid defense or offense but both had a great midfield. I was impressed by Victor's ball skills in the middle when he didn't have anyone to help alot of the time. LCM's thirty second goal was pretty tight too!

As much as i would like aries to be right... I don't think the Vidor Spiders will pull this one off. I really need to get down there and watch these teams play!!!

I'm saying Vidor-2 PNG-1. But PNG may be able to slip one in to tie it up at 2. PNG's program has been slacking a little the past few years, im looking to see when they will pick it back up!

Both teams played as well as they could considering the sloppy conditions. Lumberton comes out on top 2-1. Lumberton seemed to have some holes on the team, but Nederland's sophomores have some shaping up to do also. This game should stir up some pre-district excitement!! Good luck to both teams!
