  1. Dayton as I've said is the class of this district and although CE King is having great season they havn't played a Dayton. With that said Dayton 48 CE King 28
  2. Well this game should decide if BH stays home for the second year in a row (4 th place ???) or if they get a berth into the playoffs!! Last year the Smiley now North Forest coach out foxed the BH staff with a last second hook and ladder to knock BH out of the playoffs! If BH wants in the playoffs the coaching has to be more aggressive (Tear Punt out of the play book) when ya cross the 50 you are in 4 down territory!!! The kids need to execute (Alot of dropped balls against Crosby). In other words pull the stops out and have fun, I know these kids can do it and the whole community is there to back you!! This should be another tight game luckily it is at home unluckily its Halloween and most with little ones will be out, but there still should be a good crowd to back the Eagles. BH 35 NF 28
  3. BH Fan you need to suit up junior. ;D I would only last one play then they would have to life flight me out of there ;D ;D Oh and Prevent defensive does not work ;D
  4. Ohh Man what a game!! Just got back and Crosby made some very good catches in tight coverage to pull this game out. I have to tip my hat to the Crosby Coach, it brought a tear to my eye to see coaches coach :'( ;D Anywho there was a couple of bad and no calls ,but that is not what lost the game for the Eagles! BH gave it all they had and left it on the field!!!! Congrats to Crosby and I think BH still has a slim chance to make the playoffs if they beat North Forest next friday.
  5. Baytown Sun Crosby-BH rivalry still important By Dave Rogers Published October 24, 2008 Old-timers will tell you about the fierce neighborhood football rivalry between Crosby and Barbers Hill. But you only have to go back the last couple of years to see how important the games have been. Two years ago – the first time the two schools played one another since 1971, Barbers Hill downed Crosby 10-0 and claimed the District 21-4A title. Last year, Crosby turned the tables for a 48-14 win and claimed the District 21-4A title. That trimmed Barbers Hill’s lead in the series which began in 1931 and continued nearly every year to 1971 to 22-15-3. “A lot of the old-timers tell me it used to be a big rivalry,†said Crosby head coach Kevin Flanigan, in his fifth season as Cougars coach. “All I know is we played them twice and they were important games every time, with playoff implications.†Ditto for tonight’s game. Crosby hosts the Eagles at Cougar Stadium at 7 p.m. in a key District 19-4A game. With three games remaining in the regular season, both are battling for one of the league’s four playoff spots. Crosby, at 3-1 in district, is in third place behind co-leaders Dayton and C.E. King (4-0), while Barbers Hill is tied with Galena Park for fourth at 2-2. “We need to win it,†Barbers Hill coach Don Price said “It’s part of a three-game series and I know if we win them all, we make the playoffs. “That’s the best way (to be assured of reaching the playoffs),†but right now we’re just trying to win this game.†Barbers Hill is coming off a 46-13 loss to Dayton while Crosby took a close, 24-21, win over North Forest. Making it close was the fact that the Cougars, 3-3 overall, were without the services of running back Chance Casey for the second half of the game. Casey, who ranks No. 2 in the district in rushing with 717 yards and 11 touchdowns, injured his groin in the game, but Flanigan expects he’ll play tonight. “Chance is fine. He’ll be OK,†the Crosby coach said. Price expects nothing less. “He’s an explosive player and their quarterback (Dominic Merka) is a good player and they play sound defense.†Flanigan first played against Barbers Hill when coached Orangefield against the Eagles in the 2000 playoffs. Barbers Hill won that bi-district game 50-0. “Coach Price and them always do a good job over there. They’re always well coached and they play with a lot of effort. Barbers Hill is a team that does a good job of not making mistakes. They just hang in there and let the other teams beat themselves.†Crosby and Barbers Hill rank third and fourth in 19-4A in total offense, averaging 357 and 328 yards per game, respectively. Crosby is fifth in the district in total defense (346 yards allowed per game) and Barbers Hill is seventh (386). Eagle quarterback Tony Carmona ranks second in the league in passing, with 1,030 yards and 10 touchdowns through the air. Add in his 341 yards and seven touchdowns rushing and Carmona’s has his hands in 17 scores overall for the 2-4 Eagles and 228 yards per game of total offense.
  6. Game Day ;D Important game for both teams! Playoff berth on the line!!!!!!! Go EAGLES
  7. Actually crosby (3-1), should be pretty set w/out having to beat BH (2-2) ... they won an important one against NF last week. I think a win over GP next week would have them IN even with losses to dayton, BH, and King. Barbers hill needs this one worse than crosby seeing their record and the schedule that they have left. Correct ;D Crosby is sitting Pretty, but if they lose to BH and CE King and BH then loses to NF they would all be sitting at 3-3 then who goes ??? hopefully that won't happen! If Crosby wins then they are safe if they lose they will be rooting for BH next week to win again ;D if crosby loses to bh and king but beat GP they will be 4-3 and would be in the playoffs I forgot about that extra game then I guess they all could by 4-3? in my senario assuming all three win their last game.

  9. For BH the 9th through 7th Grade look pretty solid with a promising group!! Even the peewee leauges beneath them are winning playing 5A areas and following the concepts of the Varsity play book!! BH started a leage about 3 years ago called "TIFI" that has kids from the 3rd grade to the 6th grade playing tougher competition using the varsity play book. This leage is getting better each year after getting killed by these bigger area's. This will only make BH stronger! this years 8th graders were the first to enter the program ,so I can't wait for the next couple of years to see what happens!!
  10. Wow! Thats a bunch of insight from an LCM fan on Crosby Football ??? I didn't remember the guys name from last year, but you are right our secondary got killed last year and could not contain the speed Crosby had. Hopefully with some new faces and a year of the coaches trying to figure out WHAT HAPPENED we will do better. I don't think Crosby will get close to matching what Dayton did to BH, so your prediction lacks common sense. This game will be decided by a TD and will be tight through out IMHO 8) Either Team can take this one whoever plays with the most dicapline wins!
  11. Now for the game! I'm not sure what is happening in Cougar land because i wathed the Coog's walk all over us last year!! With that and what the team returns I thought at the begining of the year that we would see a repeat of last year. Since the Coogs are not doing very well then I think BH has a good chance of taking this game!!!! BH can not let Crosby throw the long ball all night and score on big plays, if they can contain Mr. Casey and hold n to the rock BH Wins if not ................ ??? BH 28 Crosby 21
  12. We still have Galena Park ;D There is a definte dislike of BH coming from the "Ho hum" Toups Graphics ;D whats the deal dude did a Eagle poop on you when you were little ;D ;D ;D
  13. I would assume they would make the playoffs and challenge for the district title like they have every year under Jerry Stewart Maybe, but it can't last forever, ask BH ;D Dayton and BH expectations are totally different you are saying BH played good on defense they gave up 527 yards and 27 first downs. That is not my expectations, I like to see a defense bend but not break and that is what BH did! 527 yard was given up to two highly recruited DIV I players, your not going to stop that. Dugat and Green could of had a 1000 yards ,but Stewart has to let some of there team mates play sometimes ;D bend but not break they broke for 46 points seven touchdowns, there is not much bend in that Ok nevermind, I could explain it all day and night, but some will just not get it ??? We were totaly dominated and our Defense absoulutly stunk it up! Is that better? ;D All that I'm trying to say is those 527 yards did not come on 80 yard plays (Thus the bend but don't break) I think all of those yards were earned by Dayton and even though BH couldn't stop the Dugat/Green show they laid some hard hits and made them use their downs. Dang it I explained it again!!!!!!! last time I promise ;D ;D
  14. Thanks bro we finally did it BHFan and you would have been proud of 81 he had a great game on defense. Good luck to Liberty in the future and hope you guys get it going like the old days. The boy is BAD...... I wonder where he got it from ??? I have never meet mom, but it must be her ;D ;D

  17. When I said "Impressed" is because Crosby and BH is usually pretty good. PNG has looked horrible this year, no blocking, no defense, decent WR's and decent QB. BH and Crosby are down this year and it looks like the Indians are as well!!! Believe me when i say I know what yall are going through and it stinks : One thing to count on though is that you will rebound to much tradition at PNG to have to long of a losing spell! Good luck to you guys! On another note I am happy to see teams like Vidor an Lumberton doing well as they have been through Decades of riding the bottom of the district!!! Congrats Pirates!!
  18. I know it ain't over yet ,but I want to congradulate Huffman on a big win over a team that you have never beat!!! and the best part for ETBU is that his son is on the team that broke the streak!!!! Keep on rolling Huffman it is good to see yall kicking some butt!!!!
  19. I think so! To tell you the truth I was exspecting Dayton to score on big palys and never give out D a chance, but they really hung in there (I know it sound funny looking at a 46-13 score) ;D I hope this gets them fired up Crosby and North Forest ar the two BH has to get past if they hope to see the post season!! Oh and the atmoshpere at this game was fantastic why these teams haven't played in 20 years is beyond me! Glad to have the Dayton/BH game back and I hope it is here to stay!!!!!!!!!!! Dayton/CE King should be an intersting game, but the Broncos still roll through district!!!
  20. Just got back and as exspected Dayton came in tonight and rolled! Even with a loss of such a margin I really saw the Eagles grow tonight. They did give up 46 but besides one big run by Dugat they held the Bronco's as much as they posibly could making them earn their scores. Offense could move the ball if they went to the air, but the run was completly snuffed by the Broncos! With all of that said goodluck to the Broncos and have a great rest of the season! On another note I have no idea what Dayton is going to do when Green and Dugat go next year, these two are Men among boys and without them Dayton would not be near the team they are IMHO.
  21. Over Dayton 47 BH 21 68
  22. Hey I see that Dayton has lost a district game ;D Reporters rock! I think Stewart is being a liitle modest in his qoutes, but we know what he really thinks ;D Dugat, Green Show plays at Barbers Hill By Nick Cioci The Baytown Sun Published October 17, 2008 A.J. Dugat and Cody Green accounted for all seven of the Broncos’ scores in Dayton’s 49-14 win over Crosby last week. The two are a big reason why the Broncos are 4-1 overall and 3-1 in District 19-4A as well. Dayton head coach Jerry Stewart said what makes them so good is how long they have worked at it. “They have paid the price,†he said. “They have worked over the summers and been in the weight rooms to get better. “The man upstairs gave them a lot of ability as well.†Against the Cougars last week, Dugat scored four touchdowns, two rushing and two receiving, while Green scored three rushing and two through the air. “They have been doing that a while, not just against Crosby,†Stewart said. “I’m not saying they can’t have a bad game but when they are on, it doesn’t matter who they are playing against.†Green has 1,117 passing yards on 92 of 147 passing attempts for 14 touchdowns while only throwing two interceptions. He also has 349 rushing yards on 42 carries and seven touchdowns for the Broncos this year. Dugat has 261 yards on 20 carries for four touchdowns and 39 receptions for 565 yards and seven touchdowns in the Broncos’ five games this year. The open field is where the two stand out. “Dugat is pretty dangerous if he gets in open space,†Stewart said, “but he is also physical and can hurt you with a move or two if you try play up on him. “On the other hand, if you drop too many guys into coverage, Cody is a pretty good load himself to bring down.†Having both players on his team makes his Stewart’s job a lot easier. “It’s a lot easier coaching a quarterback that is 6 foot, 4 inches with a laser arm than a 5-foot-7 kid that throws like me,†he said. “It’s the same with Dugat, too. It’s easier to coach him than someone that was like me in high school. “It’s a team concept, but you have to have great individuals within that concept to make it work.†The Broncos play Barbers Hill tonight and Stewart said the Eagles could be the team that stops them. “They have good kids,†Stewart said. “They might be able to clamp down (on Green and Dugat) and in that case, we need someone else to rise up. “We have to make sure we stay within ourselves because they want to do well for their hometown crowd.†The Eagles are led by senior quarterback Tony Carmona and junior cornerback Matthew Viverette. Carmona has 890 yards passing and nine touchdowns while also rushing for 321 yards and six touchdowns while Viverette has five interceptions in the past three games. The Broncos and Eagles play tonight at Eagle Stadium at 7 p.m.
  23. Looks like the JV and Freshman are going to get wet tonight!!! Hoep the weather calms down for tomorrow
  24. CE King might just surprise some folks this year. BH won't make the playoffs again..... :-[ Have faith my fellow Eagle ;D IF BH can knock off Crosby or North Forest we be in this ;D !!! It aint over till the fat coach sings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  25. I think that it is unfair to compair what these teams did in Junior High. Alot of things can happen like some kids develope later on in life, Move In's, Move Outs, Different Coaches and much more. Its something to look at ,but just because a 7th grade team put a whoopen on another team doesn't mean you get the same results 5 years later. With that said Dayton is the Favorite to win Big and i have no doubt they can accomplish that, but I hope BH plays with intensity and heart and makes it a game! BH like Dayton has TRADITION which a lot of our district lacks, so you can bet which ever team is down this year will be back!!! Thats why I think this game will become a great rivialry in the years to come. Can't wait till Friday should be a great atmosphere at Eagle Stadium.
