  1. nolook, i have a copy of that game. I just watched it. HJ vs. Troup in the Huntington Tourney. It was a great game. Greg Austin got hurt in that game. I'll make you a copy if you want one.
  2. Sabine is for real. Have played them several times this summer and its been ugly each time.
  3. We are doing our best. My best player has chrones disease and it is wearing him out. He needs surgery but can't get it. Probably won't play this season. Right now we are focused on his health and not his basketball. Probably the best kid I have ever coached. Those boys in Htown this year would kill people with the five out. I hope TB is considering it, but he knows best what to run. Not the Woden of old, but they are the kind of kids I like to coach. Come see us play some time.
  4. That is what i prefer to run. I think it is easier to rebound out of it, you don't necessarily have to have great shooters, and it can be ran with true post players. Someone said it is about matchups and when you find that mismatch you post that person up. Nos is correct in all of his comments. I think it is becoming more and more popular. However, it is not easy to teach. It is very similiar to Princeton in that the fundamentals of it consists of backdoor cuts and reading your defender.
  5. There are some great 1a teams around here. Spurger, SLocum, Laneville. Any of those three will beat most 3a schools around here.
  6. Easy big A. They don't have those twin towers of last year. Oh yeah, you knew that......
  7. no-look, have you seen the schedule. sHould be pretty good.
  8. I agree no look. Was going to watch Htown for a little bit on Tuesday and stayed 3 minutes. Complete lack of interest on my part. Its good for them though.
  9. Last night i witnessed one of the best moments I have ever seen in Basketball. Coach davis from HJ clutching both Bailey and Spikes for several minutes each. Clay you are a class act. that is what this is all about, awesome moment. I bring my son to watch HJ games every time I get the chance and that is why. Good Luck HJ, awesome season Jasper.....
  10. this should be a battle. I know the best player on the floor tonight will be bailey. I just don't think he will have enough help to get it done. H-J has the experience to win the close games, but Jasper has Bailey, who is the best player in Eastern Texas. I still say Jasper will come up a little short. HJ 69 Jasper 66
  11. How many will it seat? Any chance it sells out tonight? Won't be there until tip off and didn't want to have to drive back home without seeing the game. Input????
  12. How many did Bailey have? I lost count.....anyone looking at this kid at the next level?
  13. The gyms are literally side by side....located at the middle school, which is the old high school.
  14. Chapel Hill coach told me it would either be in Woden or Lufkin, and its not in Woden. ????
  15. They will play in Woden or Lufkin...Site not determined yet...
  16. Actually the jr high gym is the newer bigger gym, this should be a showdown. There may not be two better games in all of the playoffs than the two on Friday night Jasper - Hudson, HJ - Silsbee. I can't decide which one to go see. No look where you going??????
  17. Jasper is not only not out, they may indeed win the district. Right now, I would rather play Center or Hudson. Bailey is an animal....
  18. This kid is phenominal. He single handedly beat Huntington tonight. I love the Devils but it is truly amazing how good he is. I can really appreciate a good kid, with that kind of basketball talent, even if he is on the other team. Bailey is the best player in the district hands down. Good luck Jasper the rest of the way and in the playoffs, and good luck to whomever has to guard Bailey...
  19. Who you got? Huntington in must win by 2...
  20. easy on no look...He is a legend in his own mind...............No look, do our boys still have a legitimate shot at the playoffs????????
  21. actually I saw Cleveland and HJ both destroy Huntington. Both very good well coached teams. But I think if I had to choose I would rather play HJ. Neither is a good team to play against....I haven't seen Silsbee play since last year at the drum....
