Ok last week of the season. Heard lots of rumors of playoffs. So does anyone know how it is actually going to work? I Know it is a shortened season do to that stupid storm Harvey. I’m intrigued to see the playoff match ups because I can’t tell you who’s in what division or who’s got what record this year. So anyone with insider info post away because I love watching the playoffs and supporting the youth. I mean 8 football games in one day you can’t beat that.

I heard you have to watch out for the GoPro’s and headsets with certain teams too. Adjustments from sidelines coming to QB’s in the helmet. Gopro’s To make adjustments. Talk about high tech youth football. It’s going to be a great game. I since some hostility towards the Black team from the white team. I’m intrigued and can’t wait to wear my orange and white to watch this game. This is going fun to watch. Last time I saw this type of hostility LCM was playing Orangefield to go to the super bowl and they lost by 30. Orangefield was considered the underdog. Man for a shorten season this is great. Small school WOS is just killing people and jasper is right behind them. Haven’t heard anything on PA but Nederland you can hear everything about white and Black. I guess Gold is bringing up the rear.

Might wanna call Vype Magzine too. 2-1 nederland White vs. 3-0 Nederland Black. Lets take a look at both teams game by game here. Per outside sources toughest team Nederland White faced was Beamount White. According to those same sources PNG - Purple was young but had the line so they would lose, PNG Gray apparently drew the short straw during the draft but that’s one mans opinion, Beaumont Blue and white would be the teams to beat again in Pee Wee. Vidor Black I’ve heard is a team that could be a diamond in the rough but Vidor Gray is legit and could have beat Nederand Gold by more but coaches an error. Just by looking at week by week scores. Nederand Black seems to be getting better and better. Nederland White won 2 and lost to what seems to be a good Beaumont White team. Even though I heard Beaumont White had 4 to 5 touchdowns called back on holding which if they get that cleaned up. Watch out folks. So who’s my pick for this game. Who cares it’s going to be a great game. I believe it’s going to be a defensive battle. I’ve got a good buddy coaching in this one so I might make my way out to nederland for this one. Must be a rivalry in nederland. Every time y’all pick its Ned-B losing. I’m intrigued by this because every single year you go look back. Every nederland person has picked nederland teams to win. Interesting Lum-W over Vid-B it will be close though Vid-W over Lum-R battle of the mighty mites I hear Ned-W over BMT-W BMT-G over PNG-W (this is the new blue) BMT-B toss up Ned -B (honestly I think this is going to be a dog fight to the last buzzer hits) GAME OF THE WEEK ACTION HERE I Believe these will be close games. hopefully they can keep that speed in check. Saw the youtube videos from last year YIKES. PA over Ned-G LCM over PNG-P but this could be a toss up too. Lots of meat on those lines with good backs. I love givng my two cents worth. Doesn’t mean anything because games are played on the field not in a public forum. It is fun to pick them these games

Sounds like some great games for Big Ned. I’m sure those teams that lost will come out next week stronger thirsty for a win. That’s a way to represent for the Dogs.

how did all nederland teams fair?

Thank you for your active duty in the military and all you have done. I wasn’t a military man but i was in it just like a bunch no bodies. We were out there just like you were helping my fellow neighbors. Nor did I have to be when I was gutting houses and serving active duty coast guard meals in the evening at the church. It’s not judgement it’s called an opinion which is what an open forum is all about. Not trolling youth forum I’ve coached in STJFL for many years. Heck I’ve got a small one about to start back in it. I’ve seen it all. In my opinion each association should be one big family. I really wish I saw NYFA out there helping as a group at sites showing their unity and strength even if it was the board and their kids. Its been amazing to see the communities come together and show everyone in our armpit of the USA how to act and help. I hope and pray the season does GO ON for the kids sake. Especially for the kids in the towns that are truly devastated. We agree to disagree on practicing no big deal. Trust me when I say our belief on football isn’t too far away. I’ve got a group of 7th graders that I coached that went to the Super Bowl 4 times, won 2 times, playoffs 7 times lost in semi finals 1 and Super Bowl 2. Family is what WE BELIEVE in to this day and those still BELIEVE in everything we taught them. You’re right football is about family and so is community. Just everyone’s difference in opinions. In my opinion it shows no class at all but that’s just my opinion. Your area is in the middle of a major disaster but let’s go practice youth football for a season that might not happen because all the cities that you will play are flooded and being rescued by the coast guard, community members, and Cajun navy. If it was my team I would have brought them to volunteer for practice. Like I’ve said in numerous threads no dog in fight. I’ve got kids in school ball. Just my opinion which I’m entitled too. Apparently you’re the coach of the team practicing. So go get that $40 trophy from Jiffy Trophy because STJFL probably won’t be having a season. If they do I would be completely surprised.

Wow nederland picking a nederland team to lose? Interesting here!! Maybe this a game between nederland teams we need to watch for if TOP DOG is a coach for Pee Wee. Very Interseting to me. Hopefully they get a game in this season due to all these tragic and devastating events over the past days. Unfortunately I don’t think STJFL board, coaches, or parents will be worried about football. They are going to be concerned about rebuilding and neighbor helping a neighbor. In my opinion any coach in any organization practicing during this time of devastation is kinda slap to the face to those who lost everything. Especially those kids who live in the hillcrest zone. Technically only two oraganzations that could possibly practice are nederland and PNG but we all know it’s about that $40 dollar Jiffy Super Bowl trophy we all can for the mantle. LOL

First week of games are this weekend but apparently finding schedules for this weekends games. Seem to be like trying to find that one in a million woman to marry you knowing you have a football obession that starts on thursdays and ends on mondays at midnight. Then starting in September it doesn’t end until Tuesday’s at 10pm. Maybe I should have just said needle in a hay stack. LOL looked on Facebook looks like some leagues have their schedules but only putting out week one games. PA CHIEFS HAVE THEIR WEEK ONE SCHEDULES OUT. I’ve got to see them all. Plus who’s starting the pick’em this year. Love these hard working kids. Can’t wait for Saturday!! Dang middle school ball starts too late.

Port Arthur & Beaumont with their linemen and speed. Don't count out any of the Nederland teams. WOS is always a force to be reckon with in small school. Orangefield might creep up on you. HF shocked everyone winning the Super Bowl but I think the true shocker was when BC beat WOS in semifinals last year. So many questions and too many days left until the first weekends of games. Pee Wee division seems to be wide open. Let's continue this discussion after week 4. That's usually when the cream is rising to the top or someone is making a run for the playoffs. Don't worry when I go watch the game of the week this year I'm bringing my garmin and GoPro to record and bringing my popcorn as I was told to do last year

Monte is the go to guy for HC but The Cinco Ranch guy isn't just a chump. I mean he's lead some salty defenses in a extremely 6A district with a powerhouse like Katy to play every year. Go to max preps and look at the his defensive averages against state champions those years too. He's no chump. 2016 - 11-4 2015 - 9-2 2014 - 9-3 2013 - 9-3 Do I think Monte deserves the head coaching job yes I do but why doesn't English deserve the AD job. Matt Burnett I believe is the AD at PNG or maybe that changed. Who cares about the AD title. Let's get the Dogs a coach so they can start building towards a 2017 season of success. Instead I bet tensions are high in the coaches office and those boys can sense the instability of their program. I believe the school board needs to make a decision. School board needs to grow a pair and nederland voters need to force them to get a new school bond going for new schools, stadium, and etc. pretty sad that Nederland is considered one of the poorest school districts in the area. I'm off my soap box. I'm ready for a decision and quit dragging it out. Cinco ranch guy or Monte are both highly qualified for the job. Monte just has paid his dues at nederland compared to another school.

Well guys month is drawing to a close in 13 days. Is Monte our new guy(well deserved), will it be someone that graduated from BIG NED coming home to coach, or someone new to the district. I have to admit the suspense is killing me

We played them in fall of 99 too. Barbay had to start because Sullivan was out. It was in the astrodome and we beat the younger McNown brother. The defense terrorized him for numerous turnovers.

I just want to make a point here. Nederland didn't even give the superintendent job to their home grown boys already working inside administration for years. They went outside to make the hire for superintendent. Maybe the school board sees something we all don't. I agree Monte has been head coach in waiting for years IMO and deserves it. If he was going to get it I feel like he would have already been named and the search for assistant coaches would have started. Also this so called coaching search has been pretty much under lock and key. Maybe I haven't been looking intbe right places but no names have been released about who's applied yet. Seems strange to me. I mean off season is critical to implement your values, offense, defense, among numerous of other things as a head coach. I feel like Big Ned is falling behind really quick if they aren't going with Monte.

Bring Kevin Barbay home from Florida to be AD and head football coach to guys that coach him. He has proven his self in the SEC but would Big Ned be the job that brings him home. Monte has been without being said the coach in waiting IMO for years. Rumors swirling around that a masters will be needed for AD and Head Football. Also when it comes to facilities and not passing bonds. Honestly we have to look at what businesses we have in Nederand. We don't have big donors or big businesses in Nederland. I do feel like it's time for parents to come together on a bond that is logical for tax payers and does what is right for the kids in the long run. As much as I want turf at bulldog stadium. We need new schools among other things plus renovation of bulldog stadium. It's not a 5 year plan. It's more like a 10 to 15 year plan plus tax increases.

Does this mean the rumors of Matt Burnett and Larry Neumann becoming Head Football coach at Lamar are about to start happening? What about hometown boy Kevin Barbay at the university of Florida being brought back home to bring Lamar back to the promise land. He was the WR coach when our receivers were top in Southland. only time will tell. Woodard knew his time was up but I hate to see him go after all the injuries this season. O-LINE has to get better. I liked what I saw in the mid-county boys and king in back field just no holes to run into. Also Lamar needs a coach and team to feel the stands at home games. Unfortunately I saw PNG faithful fill the stadium but Lamar didn't this year. Lamar students and alumni we are better than that. I am very intrigued on by this search.

No thanks I'll pass on seeing you coach again. I only needed to see it once. Plus I've got playoff football and baseball to go watch this weekend. A lot more interesting than your coaching in my humble opinion. Have fun in the pro bowl though. It's a fun time for the kids. Also STJFL was the best league around now unfortunately it's kinda becoming joke. TOO MANY CHIEFS not enough Indians for checks and balances. (NO PNG PUN INTENDED)

Sounds like a job for the Ethics Committee.... Maybe the Ethics Committee should look into a Jasper team walking off the field with almost 6 minutes left in the game because WOS was cheating. I guess when you are getting beat 27-12 (I believe was the score at that time) everyone one is cheating right? Seriously STJFL should look into what teams actually bring value to their organization as a whole. Ethics Committee should look into the coach from LCM screaming and yelling across the field at Orangefield coaches. I believe that is a violation of the STJFL code of conduct ([Hidden Content] number 12) but I guess that gets over looked because of who is on the STJFL board (LCM Board member is STJFL VP) maybe I don't know. I know STJFL Board members have to be ready to pop the whiskey on another year to be over with.
