tatum went 0-5 and then won state. if you aren't one of the best 3 in your district what would going to the playoffs prove? the purpose of the playoffs is to crown the best in the state. districts have to play other districts to determine that. district championships are for local glory, playoffs aren't a reward for a good record but for finishing top 3 in district and to crown the state champs!

Jasper is down this year for sure, but I can't remember a time when Silsbee blew Jasper out....of course I wouldn't have thought Orangefield could either. I just think Jasper will keep it close because of the rivalry. If nothing else Dog fan's can enjoy the best stadium in SE Texas Friday night.

Gilmer is in a league of their own this year, and probably next year too. IMO. I don't think their is a 3A defense around that can stop them. But I do think Gilmer can be scored on in bunches. It would be an excited game if they were to play.
