Coach Hooks was asked about 1st half. Said it was poor coaching with 9 secs to go and not running out clock. Was asked if 84 yards of offense would be corrected? Said we better or we are going to get beat. Announcers questions whether WO-S has any wrinkles to add to their offense, but feel like defense can win it for them if they eliminate the mistakes on offense.

NEGVNFRIDAY.

Announcers say it is Stangs best defensive night to date.

1 fumble, 1 blocked punt, couple bad snaps. Stangs had 80 something yards 1st half. Scored after Jasper's fumbled punt. Jasper probably doesn't have 100 yards either.

That would make things very interesting in 22-3A if it holds up.

Good gosh I bet Hooks is livid!!

9 secs. left to toss toward endzone. 1 and 10 TD Jasper. (WOW) Jasper leads 14-13 at the Half.

Jasper blocks the punt and Jasper recovers at 25 yard line. A few ticks left.

Nice long run for Garrett. Penalty brings it back 10 yards from spot. Apparently chain crew had moved the chains. 26 secs. 3 and 9 DPG gets 5 yards for 4 and 4. Jasper calls timeout to force a punt.

Bailey is stopped 2 yards short. Stang gets it on downs. 1 and 10 from 29. under 2 mins in half. Incomplete pass (overthrown) Hypolite is injured and R. Simmons comes in to QB 2 and 10 Simmons keeper (new to Varisty in at QB) 1 yard gain. 3 and 9 Running out the clock. Stangs call timeout. 33 secs to go.

Bailey gets pushed forward for 1st down at the Mustang 37. 1 and 10 Trips right-- High snap Give to D. Bronson gains 2 2 and 8 Bailey to pass, scrambles and brought down for 4 yard loss by Garrett 3 and 12 Bailey keeper for 8 yards to the 31. 4 and 4 Timeout Stangs.

Nice return to the 37. 1-10 Bailey gets smacked by Seth Thomas after 4 yard gain. 2-6 Bronson (Malcolm is default Bronson from here on--he is one of 4 reception to 47 of Stangs for 1st down. 1-10 Bailey gains 7 yards another stop by Thomas 2-3 Bronson drops an under thrown pass. Had defender beat they say. 3-3 Bailey gets a good spot but they will have to measure. 2 inches short 4 and short Bailey under center. Apparently try to draw them offside. Timeout Jasper.

Good run to the 5 yard line. Quinty(?) down to the 2. 1st and goal. DPG touchdown. Extra point to follow. Hit crossbar no good. 13-7. Last time WO-S hit the crossbar it bounced over for the win. (at least that is how I remembered it..perhaps Kicker remembers what really happened).

Stangs driving. 1-10 Quick out for loss of 3. 2-13 Hypolite fumbles snap loss of about 11 3-24 Dennis makes a great catch at the 13 yard line on a toss up (wounded duck says the announcers). (Officials apparently gave a signal for interception in error.) 1-10

Snap goes between Hypolite legs and he is tackled at the 1 yard line. 4th and a mile (28) Jasper's Malcolm Bronson returns a short punt back to the 12 yard line. 1st and 10 Bailey is smacked around again for maybe 1 yard. 2nd and 9 Bailey TD. Beck kicks the XP 7-7

1st down 18 DPG gains 2 yards 2 and 8 Jasper takes down QB for no gain 3 and 8 End of 1st quarter WO-S 7 Jasper 0 Commentators on WO-S station says both defense are hitting hard and often.

Bailey scrambles for a 1 yard lost. Turnover on downs. Mustang defense bends but doesn't break.

7-0 WO-S Jasper returns to 40 yard line, talked by the kicker. 1-10 End around lost 5 yards 2-15 QB keeper 3 yards 3-12 Scrambling pass to A. Garret for 13 yards and 1st down at Mustangs 49 1-10 Brooks takes to the 22 yard line for 1st down (27 yards) 1-10 Incomplete. Robinson almost intercepts 2-10 Bailey keeps for 5 yards to 17 3-5 Incomplete to endzone 4-5 Jasper calls time out.

DPG touchdown. Extra point to follow.

WO-S is murdering Bailey. 3 and out again. Negative yards again. Bobbled snap on punt Stang get the ball on the 10 yard line.

Jasper goes 3 and out WO-S nice return but fumbles and Dogs recover. Jasper goes 3 and out WO-S nice return a 1st down and then 3 and out.

West Sabine and Groveton are very tall order for Chester. Glad Chester got them a win though.

Doesn't Lufkin do something like that?

Sure he got run down..he moves a lot East and West looking for room. That tends to get you run down from behind. The kid is fast. If he isn't the fastest on the team that is nothing but a good thing for the Dogs. Did Stubblefield play in that game? I don't recall hearing his name (speakers were too far away to hear much).

Listen to the last of this game. Sounded like a good game. Congrats to the Indians on their 1st win. Puts them in a good shape for a playoff spot.
