  2. 1.WOS - Every class has great athletes, and strong winning Tradition , putting them no.1 in a very close race. 2.Silsbee - The best Sr. class in district and strong Sr. leadership.A force to be reckoned with for sure.Would be no. 1 if JR class was stronger. 3.HJ - New coach New attitude New hope, will have one of the strongest Jr classes in the district.very good defense that will punch you in the mouth this year and an offense that will try to control the clock. 4.Bridge City - WILL BATTLE STRONG for the no. 3 spot with a good not great (like Silsbee or WOS) Jr. and Sr class. When it all comes down to it i see a great game between HJ ans BC for 3rd spot. 5.Orangefield - Solid Sr. group that will play Bobcat strong for all 10 games ,OF will surprise a few teams that underestimate their ability. 6.HF - Great bunch of kids that have been hurt by the athletes leaving for greener pastures!!! (remember the guy on here ranting about HF basketball). This group has lost a lot but the community gives them great support and they deserve a winner, just wont happen til they get their guys to stop leaving....i know of 4 outstanding athletes that have left this community in the last 4 years!!!! 7. Buna - May take 6th ,but i think they are finding changing classes is a little tougher than first expected.expect this team to play hard for all 4 quarters and to be around in most games. Just my opinion, Let Football season begin !!!!
  3. Salado is the real deal ,our 3a team played them 4 times this year and they are a well coached group with solid pitching. Their no.1 starter has signed with Div 1 ULL and their no.2 is a solid little side armer that can hit his spots. They will capitalize on your mistakes and play error free baseball.Make no doubt they will be a tough out in Austin.
  4. If Texas goes to a 6a classification system , it could open things up for a HJ football team that will have 6-8 freshman playing varsity ball next year. In 3 years HJ will be a playoff football team and in 4 years will have a great varsity team capable of going very far. This group of freshman will need some help ,but will gain alot of knoweledge and be prepared to make a state run in football, basketball, and baseball . Good group of kids and parents , that will support HJ to the end. Good luck hawks !!!! Oh and by the way , that Silsbee group that are freshman now...... they are extremely talented, dont count them out.
  5. Glads dominated ...beating most teams by 10 plus runs , Jed MC. and Big Mo have done a great job getting these boys ready for such a big tourney...congrats to Grayson P. , Devo R. ,Shane S. ,Regan Z. ,Hunter F.,Braden C. , and the rest of the Glad group that i just cant remember at this time....old age. Great effort , your represented yourselves and your area with great class.
  6. Just wanted to let everyone know how well represented South East Tx. was .....The TC Young Guns took first in State and World Series ....and the SETX Pirates took second at State and third at the World Series . Both teams represented our area with class and great Baseball .... these boys are from small communities and i look forward to seeing them compete for HJ and Vidor in the near future.....their HS coaches should be very excited to see such talent and such great kids coming up in their programs.....Congrats boys ,what a great year you guys had .
  7. Very kool TD , i have alot of respect for the GTB organization , Sam is doing a great job in getting all those kids in that area involved in baseball..... my child played in the Gladiator organization for 3 years and learned alot . He is now involved with Young Guns as a 12 and is enjoying playing ball with his friends and competing with local talent ,like Vidors zach h. and GTB shane s.,Roughriders baseball has put a very stout team on the field also ,and has some great talent .
  8. TD what team are you with in the 9 and 10 yr old bracket? I was just referring to the 12 yr old Young Guns Squad and the 12 yr old setx pirates, and 12 yr old roughriders....their are also some great teams out of the hamshire fannette area. I believe GTB 12 YR old group may be a lil more spread out but their are a lot of good bridge city kids on their teams, not to mention the great orange talent that is close by.
  9. Yes, you are correct ,GTB and Roughriders are very good and go to houston to play in the tourneys....Houston is definitely a power house to go up against, but sometimes those tourneys are so hard to get into,20 team tourneys with a 6 team waiting list.......i feel like the teams in this area GTB,Roughriders, setx pirates, young guns can find good quality 5 team to 8 team tourneys in lake charles and beaumont....plus some of the big dogs from houston have been coming in ,as in Spring Sluggers ,Tx Bobcats...really makes for a competitive tourney and the boys enjoy playing against the hometown competition.....so ,yes ,Houston may have the big boys ,but , i guess i enjoy seeing the competition of our lil town heroes...roughriders(Nederland)GTB(Bridge City) SETX pirates(vidor)Young Guns(Hardin Jefferson).Good to see these boys playing on not so select baseball teams ,but teams that have kids that will play high school together.Just a vote for the small town boys.
  10. I believe that the Gladiator 12 major team is the very best in that age bracket. The team is a split of 5 golden triangle players and 5 lake charles players ......solid true baseball players. In the 12 aaa or elite their are several quality teams :Big Red Machine has 2 teams and both play great baseball, setx Vidor Gold is another quality team that is as scrappy as they get with big Z. Hester firing the ball , and then their is the T.C.Young Guns ....a great bunch of athletes that are putting something special together for the future of the H J Hawks.........Not to mention the 12 aa or select group that has Tx. strike force , Select Few , and the Franchise . Their are a lot of good 12's out their to insure that we will have good baseball to watch for a long time in the Golden Triangle. By the way , the 11 u aaa or elite Gladiators are a quality team to get out and see ,very well coached . I think that between Gladiator baseball and GTB ,our kids have a great future in learning how the game should be played.
  11. Sorry to hear about that Horns, you guys have a great team, and the QB is one heck of a player....but,as long as you have #25 you guys are in every game....why did the boys quit?
  12. Well, ill put my 2cents in.....i believe in the sr division Deweyville walks into the Superbowl with easy wins over HJ blue and Silsbee ,winning both games by 30 plus pts.....Claude is just too good to get beat. With the other side it gets a little more complicated because HJ white wins big the first round ,so will HF ,setting up the rematch of HJ and HF , I know the longhorns are looking for revenge and felt that they were in the game the whole way . I must admit i do like playing the HORNS ,they are a feisty group of coaches and their ball players are very scrappy.....i do believe that the HORNS would beat Deweyville if they had the chance to play them again, and be in the super bowl, but they dont....they get the mighty Hawks . i believe the Hawks will not be denied their trip to the super bowl and win this one going away 42 - 14 . Setting up the game of the year ....... i will comment more on this subject in 2 weeks. Claude , break out the film ,cause here we come ! ! !
  13. So what matchups does that set up in the sr division. west-1. HJ 2. silsbee 3. HF 4. ? east -1.deweyville 2.mauriceville?3.warren 4.vidor I really dont know the east division ,could someone post the matchups, and where the games will be played?
  14. Well,i dont claim to be prophetic ,but i think i predicted 36-6 and the score was 38-6 .... i may not know much but i do know my boys , and i knew our offensive line would play inspired . I do want to say that the HF team is very well coached and in my opinion has the best offensive scheme that we have seen all year .... the quaterback #10 and the rb #25 are very good athletes and will be a force to reckon with for years to come . but in this season and this time ,hj had the best team and worked as one unit . Now its the 2nd season ,win or go home ,i hope that we can keep the momentum up . never the less ,i am so proud of those 15 boys that have endured this year....only 3 to go hawks ,lets bring it home.
  15. Sorry to see EC sr shut it down ,they played a hard fought game , just hang in their guys ....... you have a good team for the future. good luck.
