I have completed editing all the video recordings of the contest. I did my best to remove the wind but my external audio recorded did not work properly on a few of the bands, hence the strong wind noise. You can all view them here on my YouTube Channel: It starts off with Jasper but you can find a school's band by looking at the playlist. Everyone enjoy!

It's hard to believe that a full year has passed since last year's contest but here we are again! The UIL Region 10 Marching Band Contest will be held Saturday October 15, 2022 at Port Neches-Groves HS Stadium. The schedule released today shows 30 bands competing to earn that coveted Division 1 rating and the chance to move on to state competition.Admission is $5 to get in.I do plan to attend and record all the bands as my brother and I have diligently tried since 2006. If y'all want, come say hi to me as I battle the weather elements and try to get the best video/audio recordings of our local high school bands. Now that things are getting back to some sort of normalcy, advancement past region to area/state competition will be for class 2A, 4A, and 6A schools only. Keep in mind that we have separate open class (contemporary-style) and military class tracks for state marching band contest. Some of my thoughts: - With the recent UIL alignment for 2022-2024, a few schools have shifted classifications compared to last year: Corrigan-Camden 2A from 3A, Orangefield 3A from 4A, Beaumont United 6A from 5A.- Some schools missing from last year (2021) include Port Arthur Memorial. Hudson (outside Lufkin) has not participated since 2018.- Woodville returns to marching contest after a 3-year absence - Again this year, Beaumont United and West Brook High Schools are competing as Non-Varsity Bands; they will not be able to advance to area or state even if they earn a Division 1 rating. From my understanding "newer" schools like Beaumont United usually start out as non-varsity for music programs. I am not sure with West Brook the process to request Non-Varsity status. Per the UIL Handbook: Varsity Waiver. At the option of the music director and local school administration and with the approval of the UIL State Director of Music, music organizations representing new music programs, and music organizations committed to the process of establishing a viable music program may enter as non-varsity in the conference to which they are assigned until such time that the organization earns a Division I rating in concert performance. Pending request from local school administration and with the approval of the UIL State Director of Music the requirement to return to varsity status may be waived until such time that local school administration requests varsity status. - With all the classification changes, only three 5A bands are left in our region, As it stands, we have 3-2A, 10-3A, 12-4A, 3-5A, 2-6A bands participating.Best wishes to all participating bands as they finish learning their music/drill and polishing up their shows in the next 2 weeks.

It's that time of year folks! The UIL Region 10 Marching Band Contest will be held Saturday October 16, 2021 at Port Neches-Groves HS Stadium. 30 bands will be competing to earn that coveted Division 1 rating and the chance to move on to state competition. Admission is $5 and children 10 and under are free to get in. I do plan to attend and record all the bands as my brother and I have diligently tried since 2006. Because of the pandemic, ALL classifications have the opportunity to advance to the state marching band contest this year. Keep in mind that we have separate open class and military class tracks for state marching band contest. Some of my thoughts: - Some schools missing from the last full year (2019) include Hull-Daisetta, Diboll (moved back to Region 21), Hudson, Woodville. - West Orange-Stark will be participating for the first time since 2013 and am looking forward to how their director has built up the program since their conversion to show-style - Beaumont United and West Brook High Schools are competing as Non-Varsity Bands; they will not be able to advance to area or state even if they earn a Division 1 rating - With all the classification changes, there are only 5 5A bands and a single 6A band left in our region, especially with the merger of Beaumont Central and Ozen and the departure of the Baytown ISD schools back in 2016. Best wishes to all participating bands as they finish learning their music/drill and polishing up their shows in the next 2 weeks.

It's almost that time of year folks! The UIL Region 10 Marching Band Contest! As far as know, it will be held at PN-G Stadium. 34 bands will be competing. I haven't posted here on a while due to me getting a new job and moving to a different part of the state. I have plans on attending the contest this year. It's a state year for 2A, 4A, 6A bands. Remember a band needs to make an overall 1st Division to qualify for the area marching contest for their respective classifications. Some interesting observations with the line-up: - A couple of schools will be making their return to the marching contest in over 10 years; Burkeville and Port Arthur-Memorial. - The recently combined Beaumont United will be performing as a 6A-NV. - Coming off their first trip to the state marching band contest last year as a 5A, Lumberton has a chance to repeat a trip as a 4A. Uh, they do participate in UIL... I'm sure the students are encouraged to do solo & ensemble contests and the past few years, Port Arthur Memorial has participated in UIL Concert & Sight-reading contest where in 2016, they earned a rating of 2 (excellent) on stage and earned straight 1s (superior) in sight-reading.

Hello everyone. This is the official thread of the UIL Region 10 Marching Band Contest. Below is the schedule for the contest. It will be at PNG Stadium on October 15. There will be a $5 entrance fee for the first time so be aware of this when attending your child's band or if you are just a spectator. This is a state year for the 4A, and 6A classifications. For the first time in since 2009, I will not be attending to record the entire contest. Also, my brother, who has helped record the contest with me or by himself no longer lives in Texas. I will have a friend recording in my place. I will try to get the videos up onto my youtube channel as soon as I can get the videos from that friend. You can view previous marching contests, along with a slew of other Texas high school marching bands through the state at [Hidden Content] I will post other information when available. Another school year has started and another marching band season is upon us. This year, 4A and 6A high schools are eligible to qualify for the state marching band contest. Who are some of favorites to advance out of Region 10? We know West Brook will because they are the ONLY 6A high school in Region 10 remaining. All the Baytown schools have moved over to Region 19 and we gained Huffman-Hargrave High School from Region 9. What are the marching shows your band is performing for the year?

Wow! Hope Jasper pulls out the win in this one!
