  1. Congrats to Devin! I'm just happy to see him go to school no matter what level. I hope he is super successful at San Jac!! I used to be a student athletic trainer for Angelina basketball and watched San Jac tons of times. Their coach is a good one and they pull in talent ALL over the U.S. and produced some high major D1 talents. I've known a ton of players there that have went to successful programs. If he keeps his head on straight and stay focus the sky is truly the limit for him there. He'll play with some big time players too so he'll learn how to share the court. One thing I know won't fly is how I noticed he talked to his teammates...won't work there. Those guys are going to be just as talented or better and won't put up with it.
  2. Off topic but has anyone heard anything on what school Devin Bray will attend? I heard Roman was going to Lamar Port Arthur? Haven't been on in a while so I'm a little behind.
  3. Sooooooooo happy about this! As a huge college basketball fan I was dreading the 96 team tourney. Takes away the excitment of getting into the tourney and kill the idea of march madness. 68 is perfect to me. The one and done rule is hurting the college game as is they didn't need to ruin it with a 96 team field.
  4. I think it's kind of funny that Yates won't be entering this tournament. I would love to see Yates compete with these teams. Seem like it would be a nice challenge and a lot fun for the 4A state champs. [Hidden Content]
  5. I don't get how he is getting such big schools looking at him for football. Didn't he get hurt after his second or third game of the season and was out the rest of the season? He posted some good numbers for their basketball team. I can see him going to a smaller school to play ball. Never seen him play football.
  6. I'm a student athletic trainer at SFA and i can't WAIT to have work a bowling match! This should be pretty intresting!
  7. If him not being able to make the grades to get into college was the issue he still could of AT LEAST got his diploma from high school and went to an academy like hargraves academy or the patterson school for example and then went to the NBA. The rule states that you have to be one year removed from your graduating class to enter the NBA. John Wall (#1 PG in the nation in this years senior class) could go to the NBA because he is actually one year removed from his senior class but is going to college because of a promise he made to his dad who passed away when he was younger. It just blows my mind that you can just throw away a high school education like that. I can understand going to college for at least one or two years and then going pro even though i don't agree with that all the way at least those guys have high school diplomas at least. I know people say oh well he's going to make millions thats all he needs but this kid probaly won't be able to handle his money that great because he barely has a good education. You can say someone will handle his money but its kind of sad that he'll have someone pretty much taking care of him for the rest of his life.
  8. I thought this was a great topic to chat with you guys about. Jeremy Tyler from San Diego, California who committed to Louisville decides (with the approval and encouragement of his father) to skip his senior season and drop out of high school to go play pro ball in Europe. He said he is bored with high school basketball and think he would be better off going pro now....I totally disagree with this move. Its sad to me that this kid is going to go through life with a high school diploma and still make a lot of money because he is suppose to a big time NBA prospect. What will happen to this kid if he screws up his knee? How can this kid mature when he is around a bunch of older European men that he can't relate with because he'll just be another 17 or 18 year old american teenager? Sad thing is I can easily see a LOT of young high school players following in his footsteps. What do you guys think? [Hidden Content]
  9. I don't get the complaints fellas. Look at the caliber players we played Flynn, Harris, Onuaku, Rautins, and Devendork (can't stand that guy). Look at the coaching match up. Just be happy you were able to see a SLC team in the tourney against such great competition. Syracuse is a SOLID sweet 16 team. Can't always expect an upset against a team like that. I'm surprised we held Syracuse to just 59 pts. I know we play a slow style offense but still.
  10. The jacks scared me tonight against a pretty dang good TAMCC team. Very impressed with them and what their got coming back. All the games I've watched this year I thought my jack wasn't going to be tough enough all around and I thought TAMCC would be way to physical for SFA to hold off but they pulled through. What do you guess think about the SFA vs UTSA matchup?
  11. Great job Lions! So just fast forward a bit to next year. Can anyone who seen Kountze alot this year tell me how much were losing, who will be back, and any good freshman coming up?? I only been to a couple of games this years and the only person I know coming back is Roman.
  12. I'm hoping the jacks will finish the regular season out strong against UTSA Saturday and get after it during the tourney! Hopefully they'll use that great defense with some great offense!!
  13. Just wanted to see what you guys think about Ashton picking up his game sense conference started. I know you guys gave him a pretty hard time at the beginning of the year. Ashtons my boy but i'm nervous about him coming to SFA next weekend to play against my Jacks.
