this  is actually PNG Grey ( not white )...was a great lil game!!

For grins, i'd like to see who you guys would put on a team if you could pic any kids in the league to put one super team together. Not picking kids from your own team or "home" team if your a non-coach. Just kids from other teams who stand out in your memory as a good lil player. I'd start with... Running back kid from Nederland Black ( speed city ) not sure what his name is but if he gets the corner its hard catching him. Maybe his number was 22 ??? 2 kids who play the ends off of Lumberton Red and 1 of the LB's. Unblockable, tough, physical, sure handed. Hard to move the ball on them. I think numbers 7, 10 and 20 maybe? Who ya'll got??

Can only speak for teams Ive seen play.. 1. Lumberton Red 2. Nederland Black 3. PNG Grey 4. Port Arthur White 5. Port Arthur Black Really the 1-4 spots are a toss up. I think any of those teams could beat the other on any given saturday so you can take those 4 teams and reorder them how ya see fit. Lumberton Red is tough..Defensivley its hard to get anything done against them. They were very impressive. Also, I havent really looked and seen who has beaten who..just strictly off of the teams ive witnessed.

The system is flawed BIG TIME. Not saying any kids who made it didnt deserve it because alot of the choices here are spot on, BUT this is and always has been a political thing. They do not look at any stats or do they bring stats to the table when choosing this. Im not even real sure they are allowed to throw stats out. Most of the coaches couldnt tell ya who is who on other teams. It's more of a bad episode of Survivor than a lets look at and figure out who had the most productive season at each position. Its always been like this and probably always will be. The only way to truely have a legit All District pick would be to go soley off of stats during district play. Usually the News Papers choices are much closer to a true selection. I put much more stock in the Beaumont Enterprises picks. As far as Jace Nelson goes...the kid is much closer to an All State selection than Second team All District any day.

I wonder how this list compairs to stat leaders??? I'd love to see that.

Thats the worst picks ive EVER seen. Doty MVP and not 1st or 2nd team QB??  Nelson 2nd team?? The kids the absolute best reciever by far in the district. Funk Funky Funky picks. LCM coach the coach of the year when ya have a coach turn a team around from 1-4 and bring em to 3rd round of the playoffs?? This list is unbelievablely wrong. How Jace Nelson can be second team I'll never know. The kids probably the best reciever in High school in this district Ive seen since watching these area teams since the mid seventies. If Im not mistaken 1 PNG o-line guy on 1st team?? Man I don't think anyone would argue that dang near this entire line deserved 1st team honors. When i initially read this list I thought it was some jack-legs picks who had no clue what he was talking about. Now that I know the list is legit..I change that sentiment to it must have been a WHOLE BUNCH OF JACK-LEGS WHO DON'T HAVE A CLUE AS TO WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT.

Now there is blood and BAD blood at that...I can't wait for Round 2. HARD FOUGHT GAME.

Very offended Faircloth is not on that list. I think it is nothing other than a public slap in the face from this website to all the PNG fans who support this site. Craig Stump?? Larry Neuman?? I don't think ANYONE would disagree that his name should and would come up in this conversation when considering the best coach in the area. I can see no other reason to not have his name on there other than to be malicious towards the fans and program. Again Very Offended.

Just have had some bad run in's with a couple brenham fans and i tend to get overly protective about my indians. I still however think your wrong about the brenham being better than PNG this year...i think the answer to that is we will never know cause they didnt get to match up. and believe me ..nobody is taking Manvel lightly on this side ..I think it's the exact opposite. Champonship defense is NOTHING more that making the one key stop you need to make when the game is on the line. Offense is the excact same..can you drive down and have the "Peyton Manning" moment and win the game as time runs out. Both of those things are what define a true champion. PNG has done both recently and although they may not shut other teams down, they show up BIG when it's make it or break it time.

they arent blitzing so that the linebackers are in position to take away the outside run and defend short routes. Im not sure what sparks it with the Indians but they have played games this year in which they were blitz crazy most of the night and then go three weeks without hardly blitzing at all. Guess it all just dpends on the matchup. I'd like to see DJ and Lance roll some heads in the backfield myself this weekend. Maybe we'll get lucky and see lots of it.
