  1. Thanks for the invite, but no thanks... Did Quinny play? If not, then there was one of our weapons. It would not be characteristic of our coaching staff to "run up" a score, so I would be very shocked if there were any truth to that. Way to go Mustangs!
  2. broken collarbone??? there is no way in heck you can play football with a broken collarbone. My thoughts exactly, if it is broken. My brother broke his a few years ago and there is absolutely no way because if there was...he would have been on that field.
  3. On that note, I wouldn't really expect or need it then because it doesn't just happen that way.
  4. I wonder if any watched the news on Friday morning (9/12/08) when the news taped the elderly man on the walker who showed up 10 minutes late for the bus. I did and was infuriated. They showed an army guy loading water and MRE's into the man's car and then a "spokesman for state resources" was interviewed and said that the little man was late and that they were sending him home to "hunker-down". He also said that the state resources were depleted and that anyone needing to evacuate now should not leave their homes because there was no way to get them out of town. Within an hour, Mayor Prince was interviewed stating that anyone who needed/wanted to leave needed to be at the Bob Bowers' center because PA district buses would get them out of town until it was no longer safe to run those buses. This entire thing was a fiasco from get-go. Officials are elected to have plans A, B, C, etc. in these types of situations and they simply didn't. Not necessarily our local officials, but at the state/federal level. I have to disagree that everyone had the opportunity because this entire ordeal was not very well-organized, but at least Corpus Christi had plenty of resources. BTW, I am curious as to the average income in CC compared to here...
  5. I just heard from someone that SNAKEBITES are something to be concerned with too, so everyone please be mindful and careful. I have seen pics with people in the water wading, etc. Not only is that very risky to one's health, but as we all know, this is where these displaced alligators and snakes are.
  6. Any word on Roselawn? My elderly neighbors stayed.
  7. In CS with my mom and brother! Praying for all everywhere, especially those who stayed in the Golden Triangle. Thanks to KOGT, KFDM, and SETXsports and its members for keeping everyone updated!!!
  8. Well, it appears that noone is going to win this week...IKE! If rescheduled, WO-S takes it. Keep thinking that Hypolite and Garrett are our only weapons...we like that, ALOT!!!
  9. I have to agree about the numbers issue...numbers are just that...numbers. WO-S probably doesn't have 80 kids playing school ball...darn sure not at the high school level because a lot is expected from the players and unfortunately, some give up. I will say that there are a couple of kids who decided to quit early on, but decided that they wanted to play after all. I really don't think that our coaches pull anyone up to suit them up to play. They don't have to. Those who earn their silver...well, 'nuff said.
  10. Really hate to hear that. We will be keeping him in our prayers. Does he have an older brother who plays or played baseball?
