  1. SETX Gators are still looking for select ball players.  Contact Chad Goodman at 409-466-5323 for more information.
  2. Shiner: Congrats to your team. I know they fought hard to win the championship. Our team, TC Young Guns, are looking forward to playing this weekend. By the way, the ball your player hit was fair, even though the umpire called it foul. I hope to see you at Ford Park this weekend. Good luck in the tournament.
  3. I have went to the Groves site and it talks about sign-ups for Fall baseball. Does anyone have contact information so I may get more information on their Fall ball league. Does anyone have any experience with any of the Fall ball leagues? Has the experience been good or bad? Are the Fall ball leagues set-up for various age groups? I would greatly appreciate any information which can be provided.
  4. Good Luck, Vidor Shetland All-Stars. Keep your heads held high. Please keep us posted.
  5. Westend 1, thanks for the information. Do you know anything about the West End fall ball. Is it little league or pony league?
  6. My son, who is now six and will be turning seven in August, would like to play fall ball. Is there any teams in the local area where he can play? What about Vidor, Beaumont, Lumberton or other cities? Does anyone have any experience about those fall ball leagues?
  7. The comments are true. This is a game for the kids. Sometimes we as parents and/or coaches get tied up in the game and say things that should not be said. I also know coaches have a very hard time coaching when there are so many "sideline" coaches. I know everyone is trying to help, but the kids can not hear the coaches because of others yelling. Daddy23, our kids did have a great time at Mazzio's last night. I just wanted to say thank you for the silver dollar that you gave my son. He ran up to me with the biggest smile. Good luck to Groves tonight. I know that we have already played in the first game, but you have showed character hanging in there.
  8. Vidor did what TC did not do. They hit and fielded the ball. I hope to see Vidor on Friday. I thought this website was a place to share information among other people interested in the same sport. This website has turned into a place where people can hide behind a fake name and talk trash. If you have a problem with someone, address it with that person, instead of throwing words around like kids (Prime example is the person talking about the #11 coach. Go and talk with him instead of running to the shadows). Talk about lack of class.
  9. I second the effort put forth by the few people at Port Arthur who worked on the field. I believe they have made the best out of their fields. Remember our own fields were not always is great shape. As far as complaining, no matter how good the fields are, there will always be people who will complain. Normally they are the ones not putting forth any effort. We received a lot of rain (including hail) in Beaumont today (actually as I type). I am only approx. 20 minutes from the field. How is the field in Port Arthur for tonights showdown between Vidor 2 (really Vidor 1) and TC 1? Does anyone have an update? Good luck to the remaining teams.
  10. Does anyone have any update on the fence they were supposed to install?
  11. I am glad everything worked out for your team, Daddy23. As we spoke about in the meeting, it is not about the uniforms. It is about the kids. To everyone, I wish you all good luck. May the rain stay away and the kids enjoy themselves.
  12. I am with Twin County. Daddy23, which team are you with?
  13. Shiner, It probably was me that you saw. They are trying to work on the pitcher mound. Someone was out there mowing. There is no shade for fans. When I stepped the distance from the center of home plate down 1st base to the "yellow" tape for new fence, I stepped off 45 steps, which is approx. 135 feet. The existing fencing is approx. 23 steps further. From center of home plate to "yellow" tape at center field is approx. 48 steps, which is approx. 144 feet. I also agree that the field is not in good shape. Right now the infield dirt is muddy. I noticed in the Home side dugout that there was a section of re-bar sticking out of several concrete blocks. If coaches are tall, they will need duck to go into the dugouts. However, I guess we must do the best with this situation. I spoke with the Tournament Director (Steven Kennedy) today and he said that the meeting on Thursday (7 p.m.) will be at the ballpark. Does anyone know how Orange is going into the tournament?
  14. Shiner, Thanks for the reply. I am also planning on going by the field tomorrow. I would like to see the field condition after the rain.
  15. It appears we know what Sour Lake and Vidor teams are doing. So what about the Orange teams? Does anyone want to speak up? What about bathrooms at Port Arthur fields? I have been told that there is are two port-a-potties (one pink and on boy). Is this correct?
