  3. What is the cutoff for the age limit.  My son will be 16 on April 4th of this year?  Would he still be able to play in your league?  If not, is there anywhere else that you know of that he could play? Thanks.
  4. Can anybody tell me if Groves National is having a fall ball league?  If so when are sign ups?  If sign ups have passed will you take a late registration? Thanks.
  5. Every kid played very well tonight in the last game.  Both teams brought it.  I however want to give a HUGE congradulations to two of our boys tonight from Jefferson County.  Both of them hit out of the park home runs.  This is a big achievement for the both of them as it was their firsts ones to hit.  Congradulations Reagan and Miguel.
  6. I have to give props to the Vidor hosts.  After all of the rain we got all week long the fields were in great shape.  Good job you guys!

  12. The team from Groves has not had to play past the fourth inning this season from what i`ve heard anybody seen this team play yet ???
  13. Please dont take my concern as ill will. I did not mean to start any rumors about anybody. My apoligies.
  14. I saw one for Groves area but I am leary. The person posting is not a name that I recognize. I have been reading the other post about the guy who started a team and then did not pay for it. I dont know who he is but they listed initials of the coach that did it. It was JS. The contact for the new team in this area is named Jody. It lists a phone number. I am leary as to think this might be the same guy. Can anybody confirm/deny this?
  15. How does a person find out any informtaion about the select teams in a certain area? Are there web sites, phone numbers, names of programs, or word of mouth? I am specifically talking about the Mid-County area. More specific information is what teams are holding tryouts, when and where, how much does it cost, and any other important information for somebody who has never played/or been involved in until now but would like to be involved. I am looking for two age groups, one at 8 and one at 14. Thanks for any given information.
  16. My heart goes out to the children this effected. They did not deserve this nor did they ask for it. I can only hope and pray this group of kids get the chance to fulfill thier true potential in baseball. This is the all American game, and any kid who wants to play should with out worry that it could fall apart at any minute. Again my thoughts and prayers are with the team and the people that support them.
  17. Yes, that was him. The tape was over his mouth for that reason. He put it there himself voluntarily to keep what happened yesterday from happening Saturday. I thought it was funny as well. We just forgot the tape yesterday. It was a poor display of sportmanship and I dont agree with it.
  18. That I dont know. I know it was questionable behavior in front of the kids. But he is not the only coach to ever get kicked out of a baseball game.
  19. Yes I know what the score was, I was there. Our team had an off day, so what. We wish both TC and JCPL good luck tonight. At least we are not playing in the hottest part of the day.
  20. I want to wish JCPL good luck tonight. They fought hard yesterday to stay in the game.
  21. Thank you TD that would be much appreciated. My middle son is looking for a little more competition as well.
  22. If you are not going to let him play then you should not even put him up for all-stars. If you put him up and he is selected and then you don't let him play then you have just taken a spot from another deserving kid that wants to play. A lot of teams put their A team as the #2 team. There is only going to be 1 Winner of the tournament so it really shouldnt matter if you loose early or late. If the attitude is that the B team cant beat another town's A team then why have a B team at ALL?? That is exactly my question. That was the reason I started asking about it in the first place and why I was so upset. I grew up playing Little League Rules in soft ball because nothing else was available and we always had just one team to take in the all-stars. The idea of having two teams per city throws me for a loop. I just wanted to know the reasoning behind it. Like i said before this is our first year in all-stars playing the PONY League. My son does not know the LL way of doing things. If the teams, both A and B are supposed to be equal, then why do coaches allways pick the best of the best as the A team and then go through the lineup as the B team. If the teams are equal and supposed to be able to beat anybody, why not keep the teams as they are supposed to be in the first place and not do the whole switching around thing just to get to the end of the bracket? Ultimately to me people look at the route that has the weekest/easiest teams to be them put their best teams in that particular line up. I dont know about other cities but our two teams were not matched up evenly. Our B team was the younger/weaker of the two. From what I understand so far that is the way it works with most cities and that is why the choice is made to put an A team as a B team to get further at all costs. Please dont take that the wrong way. Being a new comer to baseball itself, this is just how I have seen things done and again it is just my opinion. I dont know why Groves itself does not do that, it is a learining experience. As far as all-stars goes, I do not put him up for it, he earned it and was chosen. And as long as he wants to play, he will play. As of right now he still wants to give it all he has and I am proud of him for that. I will not however push him to do something he does not want to do. I however now see why some people are going to LL instead of PONY. He however likes the challenges he faces and the competition in the PONY league. He thinks it is fun.
