  1. I still haven't mastered the art of blowing the whistle and talking at the same time.....That guy does it better than anybody.....he is a heck of a coach....a lot of the things I use I learned from him back in the Lumberton days.....
  2. good grief....nobody said it equates....I gave reasons why to participate....IT MAKES YOU BETTER....PERIOD....so what we need to do is just sit at home during the summer and show up in the fall and underachieve....BmtSolja...arent you an Ozen fan?
  3. I don't mind the differing opinion, each to their own....It is the "sissy ball" and "It does nothing" and "wait until we put n the pads" comments that are rediculous....you know that....If you have a differnce in opinion, fine....I was just showing reasons why 7 on 7 is important.... And unless you have been on the field with the Dragon Nation, watch what you say.....when was the last time a team down there was a state champ....
  4. It is amazing to read some of these post about 7 on 7.  Every team in the state should participate in some type of  7 on 7 during the summer for numerous reasons.  1.  Your kids are out there running around developing athletic skill. 2.  Having fun while conditioning. 3.  No matter what offense you run, eventually you will have to throw the football. 4.  and maybe the most important reason, your kids lean to compete. 5.  Kids you are counting on that have never played a varsity snap are out there getting used to the speed of the game. 6.  At some point in the season, you will play a spread team and now you have experience defending it. there are many more but these are the biggest.  Chime in if you have others. As far as LC-M and their showing at state....what a way to go into the year now....lots of momentum...lose to LT by 1 in OT....beat SLC...are you kidding me...I have coached against SLC and I can assure you, there is not a team in that area that can play with them....even in their down years.....and yes, even though 7 on 7 doesn't translate directly to fall success, check out all the teams class A to 5A that play in the semis and I would bet 95% of them have 7 on 7 experiece....so give LC-M their due....and have a clue about football before you start making some of those statements....
  5. pngfan- Tell Cheri I am praying for her and her daughters. She and I graduated from LC-M together and I was friends with Robert. I am so sorry for the loss and was shocked when dad called me last night with the news.
  6. That is not how Robinhood works my friend. That has always been the argument by schools that are short on facailities. All those schools have new and improved stadiums because they passed bonds to build them. The community supported the bond and voted for it. Tax money that is tied up in facilities does not count in the Robinhood formula. If a school wants to build a new facility, float a bond and get after it......By the way, Robinhood money cannot be spent on I&S accounts. It is for M&O.
  7. Oh yeah....I forgot that SETexas is short on industry....lol.....There is plenty of money down there to do whatever is important.....Arp (I know not a metro plex school) has ZERO industry....great stadium and facilities.....hmmmm....Alvarado, Forney, Ferris, Ennis, Cisco, Celina, Gilmer, Gladewater, and the list goes on......
  8. Hey WOSgrad.....I was one of those guys as well.....Not many know that Stew was a hoss pitcher.....I did finally get A hit the last time I faced him....lol
  9. You guys need to get out of Southeast Texas more....It is nice and definitely the nicest in the Triangle......Just drive down the road a little and check out the Berry Center in the Cy-Fair district.....or drive up to the Metroplex and check out some of those stadiums......I am glad to see at least one school trying to keep up.....sorry, two schools, forgot about Hardin......
  10. What's up LB? Things are great here.....recruiting is almost done.....we have some really good ones coming in.....I guess you have been traveling all around watching the Bear Baseballers...
  11. Hey Coop, I don't know what all you put on here with the mucsic and stuff but it does not run through our filters here very well.....takes forever to get from page to page and have to hit back several times to get to the menu page.....hahahahhaahaha
  12. Congrats Stew.....I cannot believe Coop big faced you on here with that pic.....good grief your ugly.....hahahahahahaha....Not sure if you read this much but holler at me if you get a chance......My number is on our web-site....
  13. I sure hope this isn't true. Coach Morrison truly cares about the kids and the programs at OFISD. I have known Blake for a long time and have always had a lot of respect for him. I have been through there recruiting and I have heard him talk about the kids there. He does a great job of selling his guys. Good luck Blake if this is true. OFISD is losing a good one.
  14. If you have such a concern about the health of your student athlete, test them yourself......It amazes me how all this concern and outcry for testing tends to quieten when the ball is in the parent's court.....At the college level, I can see the need for the governing body to be responsible for it because they are adults and out of the house.....High school students are still in the house....CHECK THEM YOURSELF IF YOU ARE SO CONCERNED
  15. You should do both.....If you are allowed Spring training, that is 18 practices as opposed to 5 in the Fall.....plus it puts your guys' minds on football....and I don't care if you are a wish bone team, 7 v 7 teaches your defense how to cover and your team how to compete.....you have to learn how to win before you can become a winner.
