  1. The PA Little Titans need to go back to this league.  All the teams listed seems to have alot of talent!  If PA was in this group these games would be even more exiting to watch.
  2. I forgot to add the location.  It will be at Port Neches High School softball fields.  The original post was made last week sometime I believe, however it was one of the posts on the thread that has miraculously dissapeared.  All posts from the last 11 - 15 days has disappeared.  Must have some technical difficulities.
  3. The Prospects Organization will be hosting a tryout for 9&U select team on Sunday, August 18, beginning at 1 pm
  4. Is there a list of players that has been selected to play so far? If so, can you please list the names?
  5. Where is the nomination thread? I would like to nominate some players.
  6. Thanks for the defense Rookie08. There are still some people that can just have decent honest coversations after ball games on this site.(that knows the game of baseball). (Although I am an Ozen die hard fan) IMO Vidor come into this game as the better team, so when you get that much of a lead on a great team like Vidor you have got to go down fighting with your best. If you lose, you lose with your best on the mound. Starting with your best, Lott had already given us 5 great innings, I just would feel alot better had Gardiner came in after him to close, not saying that they would have won, but I don't think any team in this district has scored 6 - 7 runs against Lott or Gardiner in a complete game pitched, so the probablity of them scoring 6 runs in the last 1 1/2 inning was less likely. I just think that Vidor players were disrepected at the plate by trying to throw fast balls by them, because they are too good of hitters for that and they made Ozen pay for in the end. Which once again is what a good team and coaching is going to do.
  7. Gardiner and Lott were killing us, but I have to say you guys did well as a team at the plate. I believe you definately have respect from the district. You've played some tough ball this year.. Thanks VPirate. I have been so disheartned by our loss to you guys, I failed to say congratulations and good luck in the playoffs. I think you guys have an awesome ball club, and an outstanding Head Coach (arguably the best in this district). IMO you guys don't get enough respect in this district by other top teams. Although I hate that you guys came out the winners against us last night, the better team overall pulled off the win as they should have. That is what good coaching and ball playing will result in. Good luck guys, and I will be pulling for you all in the playoffs.
  8. you are right ;D Ozen had 9 errors in this game they were lucky to be in this game. Who was lucky to be in this game Ozen or Vidor? Surely you mean Vidor, because if not for the errors, Ozen should have had an easy win even dispite the runs for Ozen that should have been scored due to poor base running.
  9. Well, I know he gave his team a great 5 or more innings last night no doubt and was outstanding at the plate. Nothing at all against Taylor who relieved Lott, because I like his game on the mound too, but he was getting hit pretty hard and it seemed he only had a fast ball and Vidor took advantage of that. I probably would have had Gardiner enter after Lott to shut it down real quick because I know he can mix it up well and keep you off balance, even if they would have hit him, I don't think they would have hit him into a win, I would have been confident that he would have gotten the last three outs earlier on. But you never know, just seemed as if we could not get a break at all once he finally did enter. It was too late at that point, Vidor had gotten PUMPED UP!!! But I have to say, that OZEN hit that ball well as a team last night. They looked good at that plate.
  10. Great game for both Gardiner & Lott. They mirrored one another at the plate all night. They both were responsible for alot of Ozen's runs. Hard loss for the Panthers, they seemed to go downhill after the first pitching change. They had VERY HARD hits againt the 2nd pitcher. What are Gardiner & Lott's batting averages at the point? They have been very hot at the plate.
  11. Well I know for a fact that the following players at Ozen as in the National Honor Society and well as at the Top of their SR classes. And I am sure their are more on the team, just don't know their status for fact: Danny Fowler - Catcher (Top 10) Magna Cum Laude ranked # 3 out of class of 318 Josh Gardiner - SS/P (Top 10%) Cum Laude ranked # 22 out of a class of 318 Chris Raggett - OF (Top 10%) Cum Laude ranked # 28 out of a class of 318 I may be a little off on Gardiner & Raggett rankings slightly(+/-), but Danny Fowler is defintley ranked # 3. And like I said before, I know their are others like Taylor, Lott & Wilcox who I know are probably recognized as well, just don't know their status. Ozen has always seemed to have academically inclined players on their Team even in the past years.
  12. hey coop are you sure about the three way tie breaker method. THE PORT ARTHUR SAYS THE THREE COACHES WILL FLIP A COIN,ANDTHE ODD MAN WLL BE OUT OF THE RACE. THE OTHER TWO TEAMS WILL PLAY FOR THIRD PLACE.
  13. Well I have alot of respect for Gardiner too, but I would start with the ACE in which I am sure is Lott, ( they need Gardiner on defense behind that good pitching) but to be honest, when I think about it I would try to save them both for Vidor in case Lott need Gardner to come in to relief. I have confidence in both do doubt because they both can be some beasts on that mound. Just hope that Taylor or Johnson can get them a win against Lumberton and these two other pitchers can be saved for Tuesday's game. Either way, just hope that they take care of business and give themselves a chance at winning. Would really like to see this team go into the playoffs. I think that Gardiner & Lott always have carried this team, but the team as a whole is the most improved team in this district which says alot for the other teammates. I will be following them for sure.
  14. I heard the Indians played well, and Vidor had some error that killed them, but they still have a great chance in the playoffs if not a for sure chance. Good luck to both teams!
  15. Well I agree with you again Ballin4life, to the extent that Ozen need to just get the job done, but you have to admit that they should go with their best against Vidor with Lott pitching. But my thing is, they should not be focusing on Vidor at this point, they should be consentrating on getting the win against Lumberton tonight in which Lott is most likely not to pitch, and the same focus should be applied for whomever will be pitching. Back them up with good defense and HIT THE BALL. And carry over the same on Tuesday, because Ozen will have a good chance thereafter.
  16. Yeah I agree with Ballin4life. And they also have to play defense when Lott is NOT on the mound, which means they need to focus on getting the win against Lumberton. Take one game at a time and HIT THE BALL.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Do not count OZEN out if VIDOR ends up with 5 loses, that means OZEN have beaten VIDOR. OZEN only have 5 loses. If Ozen wins out ,they will be tied for third.
  18. Regardless to when Ozen play on saturday or monday D.D. Lott is not going to pitch until tuesday against Vidor. Johnson or Taylor will probably pitch against Lumberton.
  19. Well LCM typically wait on the fast ball, and if the other teams pitching is on and they are throwing several pitches for strikes, then they can get the best of this team.
  20. I am with ballin4life, Gardiner from Ozen is probably the best short stop in this district or I would say that he is the best along with Bunner from vidor, but by far, they are the two best that I have seen play in this district. Pitts is the only other short stop in this district that I can think of that comes close to these two guys. Pitts will probably be the best Short stop in this district next year. Very solid players, but I can also see Gardiner being one of the best utility players as well, because he can play anywhere on the field. But it is crazy to not see his name under the infielders list because he is sooo awesome at the short stop position and where you see him play the most.
  21. I agree with UTGUY. I have said it time and time again, that Ozen has always had the best short stop in this district ( The Gardner kid) , and DD Lott has never gotten enough recognition as one of the best Pitcher's in this district along with Harrington. They are by far the best two pitchers. Hope I see Gardner & Lott names in the 1st team all-district picks along with some of their other team mates that has been proving themselves this season as they are very deserving. Keep up the good work Panthers!!!!!
  22. However this game turns out, I'm sure it will be a great game to watch, but will have to give Vidor the slight edge at winning due to the good pitching thay have been displaying, but once again you never know in this district who is going to beat who. Good luck to both team!!!!
