  1. Why do you hate on a kid like Hicks and B.C.???? Yes Hicks is a superstar but the most modest kid with his talent I have ever met. Aside from baseball I hope my kid turns out to be as good of a young man as Matt Hicks is. Besides that before Hicks B.C. has always dominated in baseball!!!!!! Dont be jealous because their good. Just enjoy last place in district again with pride!!!!
  2. Hitters inc. will be up and running in two to three weeks. We will be putting things back together starting this weekend. The facility had a significant amount of water but everything is drying out. I will keep everyone updated. I know most everyone in B.C. has lost everything but I have seen huge improvements in just one week. Im proud of the way everyone has rolled their sleeves up and helped each other.
  3. Coaches are just about through picking the teams and calls should start going out this weekend.
  4. When and what time do they play. Im working in houston and would like to see these two play. Ned is very good but I heard Lumberton is also. I know the Leger kid and he is tough.
  5. I apologize for not naming all of the players. Yes these are all boys that will be doing well in the future. The funny thing about little league is that some of the ones that play one inning could be your next All district player. I have personally witnessed it over and over. So dont think I dont believe that each and every one of these kids will be something in the future. I should have thought about it when I only named a few. I am proud of all of them. They never gave up. We had one that was hurt and he was there every step of the way with his team.. I was very impressed with the coaches on Nederlands staff and the kids as well. RGR-now that i have figured out who you are I was wrong.... Good luck this next week and keep us posted.
  6. Westin Crain, Blaine McElduff, Trey Huffman, Caleb Morrison, Jonah Lemoine, and Joey Greer were your big stat leaders. Crain was the big man on the mound and McElduff hit the walk off Grand Slam at Groves. Congrats to Nederland and Good Luck!!!!! There are many names on these two teams you will be hearing.
  7. I played under Mahaffey and HF didnt lose anything by hiring him. Great Coach I wish him luck!!! What a STEAL!!!!!!!
  8. I am one of the coaches of B.C. and I was very impressed with the kids on Groves team. I would take any of them to play with me. This was a game of teams that everybody thought was the two underdogs in the tournament. There were many players on Groves team that stepped up. I tell you what Tate Allen is one of the biggest competitors ive come against and ive been doing this for 17 years. I hate to single him out because there were others like boudoin etc. that played awsome. This game ended on which team got lucky. This was the best game ive ever witnessed as a coach from both sides. The Groves coaches really had their kids prepared and the deserve(along with the kids) a standing ovation. Its sad someone had to lose and I consider myself lucky to win and witness this display of heart from both sides. I hope to see all of these kids on the big diamond in the future and I look forward to it. This was a Great Game( the luckiest team won and thats all you can say)!!!!!!!!!!
  9. RGR you seem to be classless yourself. Yes Ned won but not like everyone thought. It actually came down to who got the brakes. BC hit the ball way better than Ned did. I still wouldnt count BC out to double dip, anything is possible. We still have a very good Groves team to face. So yes for you again you(well not you the boys) won 4 to 1 congrats.
  10. we cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. How many pitchers did groves burn to win that one. Congragulations to Groves Im sure that was a good game.
  12. My reply didnt go through the first time. I remember that parade and I walked Darby Breaux in the parade and was so nervous I couldnt talk to her. I wouldnt trade my little league days for nothing. I just wish we had the opportunities our kids have. I remember wearing blue jeans in my first little league game. WOW those were the days!!!!!!!
  13. I don't know who you are but we were either playing together or the tradition may have continued after I was gone but that is exactly what and where I was talking about. One of my other favorite things was the opening day parade we used to have at Wesco. [/quote I remember that parade I walked Darby Breaux in it one year. I was so nervous I couldnt talk to her. I would never change my little league days, but i do wish I had more instruction back then. I do wish we had some of the opportunities our kids have.
  14. (I really should know better than to reply to this, but............) The BC opening HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH WINNING OR LOSING! Amen!!!!!! Just because you read this board doesnt make you an expert on this situation. There are many things that led up to what went on in B.C. Dont worry about B.C. we will be fine. Things arent always what they seem. If you dont know the situation why would you even make a comment about the politics in B.C.
  15. Just heard 11-1 B.C. over Groves for the 11 year olds and 9 to 1 B.C. over P.N. for the ten year olds
  16. I know because i am on the board and i am a coach. I strive to put the best team on the field.. I have always been sucessful because i try to teach all kids on my team. I spend most of my time with the kids that need help!! Ask any parent that has had a kid on my team. I am in it for the right reasons. I have always coached and I have just recently put my kid up for all stars, and anyone in the league would tell you that he desirves it. I think that most parents look through clouded glasses when it comes to their kids. I have always pushed to put the best 12 kids on the all star team. I have coached for in this town for 16 years and 8 of them were before my kid played. So ask me again how do i know, because I learned the hard way and I learned from the best "Coach Young" you cant win unless your weakest link can play also. Volunteer before you open your mouth about this league and open your eyes to whats really happening...... I know every once in a while you have a kid slip in, but usually your first 10 or 11 kids are the right ones and the last pick is between 3 or 4 and you have six or so coaches voting for one kid. I personally think we have the best system. Every vote is closed ballot and its hard to manipulate.. Im not saying its perfect but its the best system ive seen. I hope you have a better experience next year and I hope you open your eyes. We wouldnt have 900 kids if we werent doing a pretty good job (Since everyone is volunteers) If you dont like it then you can either leave or help out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. what are you talking about. These kids don't see bad things here they just hear whiny people in the stands. You need to be more specific. The volunteers are all about the kids, some people apparently like yourself like to be a part of the problem instead of be a solution!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. All I said was dont count B.C. out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck to all and if you dont know who the pitchers are you will!!
  19. DOOOOOH!!!! That was a low blow knowing that will not happen... Since coach Andy left the program has done the same. It will never recover. You play football in WOS and you play Baseball in B.C. PERIOD!!!!! And every few years B.C. will be successful at football.
  20. Cardinal 81o7 where have you been hidding??? This town is full of parents that think they know baseball and in their eyes "little johnny" is the best baseball player since Ruth.... Whether you like Billy or not, and im not a huge fan, he is a good coach and the fact still remains "they" hid and waited around every corner until they found enough evidence to take his job. He was not political enough and put the best nine on the field. Believe it or not some parents don't like that!!! I have coached ages 7-18 for the last 15 years in this town and believe me there are a bunch of "little johnnys" I'm just glad there parents or grandparents are not on the school board!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Good statement but our pitchers are from BC and they allowed 4 runs in two games to FHWS. Our shortstop is from BC and is one of the best pitchers. Good Luck!!!!
  22. Dont count the 12 yr olds out in BC this Yr. They all played select and beat FHWS twice and very decisive. They have 3 very strong pitchers and have the bats. You can never count BCLL out. It will be interesting how this plays out. The 11 yr olds will be unstoppable again!!!!!!!
  23. Looking for a couple of players to fill our roster. If you want to schedule a tryout call Michael @ 670-7525. We will begin playing tournaments this month.
