There will never be a full proof solution for poachers in my opinion. I just don't think that there is enough man power to be out there searching to find enough people every year for other to be concerned about it. I think if many numbers of people were caught or maybe even if the ones that are caught were put in the newspapers and people can see how unworthy it is to poach then I think we will see it be reduced but it doesn't get publicized very well so people think they will not get caught and go out and poach.  I know there are quite a few caught every year and I personally wish the press would bash these guys harder to maybe scare the others from doing it but I guess it is a waist of time for the press to do work like this. Just my opinion though.

How many players are they returning from last season? I know for the last few years they haven't ever had more than a handful or so seniors on their teams.

How does their team look this year? Will they be able to improve off of last year?

Not sure if I'm misunderstanding your message there, but no I'm not going to shoot a deer unless I have clear evidence that it is greater than 13". I'm still learning though on how to age deer on the hoof so I can take a more mature deer vs. a younger deer.

That is more comforting to me as a hunter to know that if it is within an inch there is a good chance you wont get a citation but im still going for the 13" or greater.

So tvc184, your saying it has happened? What would the outcome be if someone were to get stopped by a TPWD officer and it didnt measure 13" but was outside the ears? Do you have any idea?

I am a fan of the 13 inch rule as well. Just after 1 yr I am noticing a difference. I haven't had the chance to shoot a buck that is over 13 inches yet but has anyone shot a deer with the horns outside the ears but it hasn't measured 13 inches? I just cant believe that every deer has the same measurement in the width of the ears. I think that this could be a problem as well?  I really worry that this could possibly happen to me one day and then there will be nothing I can do about it.

On the topic I will say NFL Playoffs. Football playoffs are extremely exciting to me, but then it would have to be march madness for sure. I only watch college basketball for that reason. But I think here in Southeast Texas we are all so passionate about high school sports I will also say high school over everything else. I love how the kids work hard trying to make it to state in everything. College football would be so much better with a playoff system instead of bowl games.

i agree his injuries brought his stats way down. I couldnt imagine where they would be right now if it werent for all the injuries. Personally i am glad to see him go back to the Mariners where he started his famous career.

Yep thats him. he was the former head soccer coach at bryan before he was hired here at liberty so he knows what he is doing.

Yeah i am very ready to play. They dont know that 21 is stronger than 22. they say that about us in every sports we compete in. There is no possible way for them to know that.

well i hope yall come in to our house thinking that exact way overly confident and cocky because liberty will bring it to you and make yall think twice. they do have some young ones right now due to basketball playoffs and whatnot but the young ones right now are pretty good. so i say again i hope yall come in cocky and yall will be in for a good game.

who do you think will win and what will the score be. I think it will be a good scrimmage. both teams will be thinking of this as a real game.

coach deel is the soccer head coach as well as football. He was the head coach at bryan high school for soccer prior to being hired as AD in Liberty

yes panthaplaya you are right. All the seniors want it bad to get back there and win a couple series. They have been busting their butts in the weight room and on the practice field and after the first full week they are looking pretty good. Should contend this year pretty well thats for sure

I really think Liberty has a good shot at getting second this year. They have 2 starting pitchers coming back and 2 relief's as well. They may need to find one more though. They have the entire infield minus second base and 2 outfielders coming back as well. I think Liberty will be solid this year.

I dont think Tarkington will be able to keep up with huffman at all. Huffman is a really good team and Tarkington is young this year. I think Tarkington will place third this year in district.

i cant wait until their scrimmage with liberty...my hometown panthers are going to take that one

yes sadler is a very good coach and always has his team ready to play...i think they can contend for first but should get second

What do you predict about them this year. They contended for playoffs and barely got beat out last year. They have some good solid returnes for the infield and two starting picthers back.
