  1. probably a lot of 21-5a teams will be playing teams in that katy district seeing that they both need 5 nondistrict games and teh rest of the surrounding area only needs 4 or less..... when i was a freshman in highschool (1999) Baytown Sterling went to Katy and played them...in the most improbable game I have ever witness and probably ever will witness the Rangers beat Tigers 28-25 to end some ridiculous 35 game regular season winning streak...only other game Katy lost that year was the state championship game, Sterling which for once had a decent team still managed to go 6-4, beat the state runner up, and stay home come playoff time...weird year, but that game was unbelievable...
  2. They are gonna lose one this year i think they lost their QB, who was very good. I believe they had underclassmen at running back. I think WB will hold their own this coming year. if they havent lost a district game in 8 years then they know a little something about losing talent and replacing it....also, if they havent lost a district game in 8 years then that means the last time they lost one was the last time they were in 21-5a, cause i know they lost to Baytown Lee one year when Lee blocked their winning field goal attempt in the final seconds....the next year North Shore ran the table and won district and the year after they got moved back out....
  3. so i wonder if the new school opening up will effect the talent playing football over at Baytown Lee...... haha, who am i kidding all the kids that can play football conviently live on that side of baytown already anyway... Scalp'em its been a long 23 years for Sterling...dunno about Channelview
  4. maybe coog high will knock them off tonight, i know thats what i'm rooting for...
  5. wow guys, im sry i was watching the game (baylor alum)...next time i'll post stuff like this over here i didn't realize yall would be interested...but the game was free to watch online...it rivaled that game UT/OSU played last year that went 3 overtimes, maybe better...i dunno i could be a bit biased, crazy game, glad the bears got the win...
  6. 15-2 woohoo! we probably need about 6 or 7 more wins to be dancing come march...sic'em!
  7. the Liberty job is definitely open (I live here) Stewart resigned, and if he didnt he wont have his contract renewed.... I hadn't heard about Donald Douglass coming back, he was a former Liberty QB/UofH wideout/NFL journeyman/other proleagues.... that would be interesting, esp. if he could keep Anthony Chambers on staff former Liberty QB/Purdue Wideout/punt returner....Donald and Anthony played here when I was young, and obviously by their sucess at the next level they were very, very good... Maybe they could get former runningback Reggie White to come back as well (dont know what he is doing now, he played college ball as well, at a smaller school and a year at Okie State), bring back some of the better days in the 90s of Liberty football.... I dont really understand why the support is coming into question in Liberty, for almost every home game that stadium is full in Liberty, they just don't travel when the team sucks (as it did this year), thats the same with most schools....Liberty doesnt have the great tradition of some of these other southeast Texas teams to draw on, they normally have been in a weaker district and though they make the playoffs most years they very rarely get out of the first round...As far as financial support, Liberty's stadium is old but its a good stadium and large enough for 3a, however I do not know about how much they pay the coaches, probably it is low but Liberty has a lot of low income families and no teachers make a lot of money here, makes sense the coaches are lower normally as well, that really isnt something Liberty can fix though...they only get a certain amount of money so they can only pay what they have....
  8. If they want to play a northeast Texas school, I would say Texarkana Texas. They've had pretty good records in the past and it'd be an interesting game. Of course, if we are in a 7 team district then we'll have to have a 4th pre-district game. I still say Liberty. Dayton and Liberty have no buisness playing each other... Dayton is one of the top 4a teams in the state and Liberty couldnt even make the playoffs in 3a last year in one of the weakest 3a districts in the state, not only would Dayton win the game Liberty could get some kids hurt, they are way to small on the lines to play Dayton...It'd be similar to a junior high team playing a high school team in talent difference I think, Dayton should schedule one of the Baytown schools or something, playing a 5a would get them even more ready for district....
  9. has sterling even won a game since district started? at least when i was in school they were good at everything but football it seemed, now they suck at basketball too?
  10. Dugat is a freak of an athlete and is tearing it up at Baylor... He started this year off slow but has really gotten it together the past 10 or so games...right now he is one of the big reasons we are 2-0 to start conference, hope he keeps it up...
  11. i was at the game, it was pretty awesome...probably the most exciting baseball i have ever been at....
  12. that Anthony Jones kids from Yates is going to Baylor....he is pretty darn good...
  13. Sterling is 10-6 and Humble is 2-11....figures...
  14. Liberty was pretty disappointing this year, not even making playoffs in a very weak district.... I would say Baytown Sterling was disappointing but they won a game and it was against a playoff team, so yah...thats really better than some years when our only win was against a non-playoff team....maybe next year Rangers, maybe...
  15. Baylor had the number 1 recruiting class 2 years ago and played most of them as freshman last year....i saw the baseball america people had them picked to go to the college world series this year....had some growing pains last year but were playing better at the end of the season, hopefully we are good enough to host our own regional/super regional again, beating rice at their place is not fun to try to do...
  16. 11-1 with a huge game coming up for the Bears against Arkansas this saturday (7:30 on Fox Southwest if you want to watch)....Bears are on the brink of being ranked for the first time since Feb. 1969....
