you make a valid point. to his credit, apparently he wins a lot of games in places like Hardin where a lot of games are not won when he's not there. i'm just basing my post on past seasons. when you look at the program, its been one of the worst football programs in southeast texas for many years. but the years he's in hardin, its quite the opposite. why is this the case? is it luck of the draw or is the guy really good at what he does? hardin is the smallest 3a division 1 school in the state of texas right ? even more odds stacked against him and he somehow pulled that off as well. kirbyville, anahuac, OF were all much more athletic and talented than hardin, but they all 3 lost to Hardin. why ?

Franklin does not have to throw the ball. They are faster (team speed) than anything southeast Texas has to offer. That's just what I have been told. I have not seen Franklin on film nor do I know anything about them other than what I see reported. I have seen a lot of film on Woodville. They dont appear to be able to throw the ball on rely heavily on 2 and 10. QB is average at best but the line is very good. I would not say the defense is great but they are not bad at all. I'd be worried about somebody who could out-run them or mix it up in the passing game. None of those kids have seen a passing game probably since they were 6-7 years old. But, I dont think they will see it with anyone in the playoffs. Franklin will most likely eliminate them, unless Rockdale/Grandview/Teague knocks them out first. Grandview and Teague have both historically thrown the ball very well.

i agree and i sure hope woodville has a long playoff run but i dont see them getting past 2nd and definitely not past 3rd round this year. there's too many tough teams in the region from what i can tell

from what i am told, he's the only coach aside from one other person whos coached in hardin that has a winning record. and i'm not trying to be negative, but thats hard to do in hardin. my kids are in hardin schools and they love it. neither will play sports but thats okay. i enjoy watching the hornets when i can and i have also heard good things about the volleyball teams they have here which is in the playoffs as well. well, i dont know what the score will be, but i think it may be closer than you expect sir. i do know a lot about buna, being that i lived in evadale for so many years. morgan always has his kids fighting hard this time of year

its definitely going to be interesting. curious to see how buna is able to prevent #3 from gashing for a couple hundred and a few scores, meanwhile, hardin having to stop the running attack that buna throws at folks. buna looks to be a little larger upfront than hardin so this might present a task for hardin. also curious if the hornets will throw a lot on buna like they did vs anahuac or will that even be necessary? guess we will see
