  1. where are most of your players from?
  2. MC won 4-2 this morning at 10 am, Eric Harrington threw the complete game.
  3. Gotta love the good ol' groves american travel option rule sticking around.
  4. Nice run guys. Congrats on the WS title. Should continue to see you guys doing big things in the future.
  5. Honestly, how hard is it to play to win every single game? Ive been coaching baseball since forever. I eat, sleep, and breathe the game. Im in college as we speak to make it truely my life. Its not hard, more times than not its obvious. Yes, sometimes being a dad with a kid on the team does get in the way. Weve all seen it, fortunately I dont have this problem, but still it would seem to me that if youre kids on the team you would want the team to win and not put your own child in a position to fail. Maybe thats just me. I know just about every single 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 year old all stars this year and their coaching staffs hopefully all of you guys win alot of ball games this summer.
  6. This 18 yr old team should roll through to the world series. Youre 9 deep on the hill and its not just any arms. Youve got 9 very good pitchers. This team is better than the team that won it in 2002. They might not lose a game.
  7. Im not going to name anyone, its their personal business. So well leave it as a 14-16 yr old. Great kid and ball player though.
  8. Why scolded for shoulder therapy? Hell be throwing again in a couple of weeks because of it. As far as 16U ball in the spring time goes, there is. As long as theyre not playing varsity baseball. They should play select if they have the opportunity. As long as theyre managed responsibly its a great thing to be a part of.
  9. As far as meaningless tournaments go, theyre 14-16 years old. In the long run these tournaments are pretty much meaningless. Yes, its experience which Im a huge fan of, but they still have 4-6 more years of baseball at least before theyre done. Why continue pitch a young kid as well as play him at ss, when he can hardly pick up a baseball. Tell the kid to go home and ice it and massage it every night and he'll be ok. Why wouldnt you advise him to see a doctor? If you cared about him and his arm as much as you should you would. The kid is now going to therapy for his shoulder.
  10. Never said they were going to need 5 or 6 guys, but one of those guys are going to have to throw some innings. Harrington and Todd will not go the distance every single playoff game. Why not throw them in a "warm up game" so they can get work in in a game like situation rather than in the bullpen?
  11. If they were smart, they would throw their other guys who are going to end up playing big roles in a playoff run. In a 3 game series there is no way Harrington or Hicks could throw games 1 and 3. Both coaches know what their #1 and #2 pitchers can do, theyve seen them doing it all year. Youre telling me that in a game 3 for PNG that it couldnt come down to Spikes (who's been closing all year), Benoit (who hasnt thrown all that much), Sweetenham (who I havent seen throw a varsity inning all year), or even Deron (who has pitcher very well on JV, but thats JV). Why wouldnt you throw all these guys, some of them will have to throw eventually and the playoff run could rest on it.
  12. You play it like a scrimmage because thats basically what it is. It means NOTHING. Why go out there and throw Harrington for 6 innings and take a chance on something bad happening. Then you go real far in the playoffs. This "game" means nothing.
  13. There is a good chance to scoreboard wont be on. Neither coach is going to go out of his way to win this game. Youll probly see 5-6 different pitchers for each team trying to get guys who havent thrown in a while, especially for PNG since they have pretty much been throwing 2 guys most of the way. Got to get the young guys ready for a playoff run.
  14. too bad they risk their young arms to win meaningless tourneys.
