  1. You are right about it taking a lot of hard work to become a good fielder. In todays baseball world the emphasis on fielding is not there. The kids see players on tv that are horrible in the field, Barry Bonds, Carlos Lee, Manny Ramirez, etc., but are considered stars because they can hit. They get all the hype. Players like Adam Everett who is a great fielder are considered sub par because they don't hit monster home runs.
  2. I agree Dog... Those kids your're talking about are out there, they just never get mentioned and they don't get on here and self promote. The reason those kids don't get mentioned is they don't get on the field. High School coaches have a hand in this too. They will play a kid with less than desirable defensive skills if they can hit HR's. That sends a message to the players that they have to be able to hit the ball out of the park if they want to get in the game. So, naturally they focus on hitting instead of defense.
  3. Games "SNOWED OUT" for today. PNG supposed to play tomorrow.
  4. I would have to say Jacob Lynch the right fielder for PNG. I don't think he even started on JV last year. He has probably been the most consistent bat for PNG so far.
  5. PNG vs Victoria Memorial should be underway. Anybody know who's on the hill for PNG?
  6. This is either really bad pitching or a very strong wind blowing out. How many HR's in this game?
  7. LCM can sure put up some runs, but it doesn't seem they can hold anybody though.
  8. Is there any pitching going on in this game?
  9. I thought the Sun Devils was invitation only or do they have tryouts?
  10. PNG bats went to sleep. 12K's I heard. Was Sulphur's pitching that good? ???
  11. Two of 22-4A's big guns got hammered last night. Wouldn't of predicted that. Must of been something bad in the air in Mid-County yesterday.
  12. You better bring some big sticks when you play LCM. That whole lineup is full of power. Matt Johnson is a great talent and his character is impeccable.
  13. Mitch Todd from PNG finally looks healthy. Watch out 22-4A.
  14. I don't think you can judge anybody by one game. The PNG game was the first time I have ever seen Fazio pitch. Apparently he just didn't have his his best stuff that night. I wasn't slighting the young mans ability at all. Rice wouldn't have invested a scholarship in him if he wasn't talented.
  15. Fazio really struggled against PNG. I like the top 10. The only change I would make is move PNG ahead of Westbrook. PNG looks to have solid #2 and #3 starter's with Todd and Carnahan.
  16. WOW!! Is 20-4A gonna be exciting ;D OOPs 22- 4A I mean. Showing my age
  17. I just made an observation. It wasn't meant to be an excuse for anyone. PNG is certainly swinging the bats much better than last year early on. Showing some HR power too.
  18. Hosed by ?? the hitters or a tite zone?? It was a little bit of both. The strike zone seemed somewhat erratic and kept the pitchers and batters off balance. Kelly walked a lot of batters. Png did hit the ball. Zack Rahme and JJ Garcia both went deep for Png. Good start for the Indians.
  19. I agree with you admin that Hester will be a force this year. Many of the players from that 16 year old Babe Ruth team will make big impacts this year for their teams. The experience they got this summer really helped them develop as players. ;D
  20. Looking at this re-cap PNG has some pitching that can help with a playoff run. Harrington,Todd and Carnahan will be a formidable trio. Last year they had the pitching but struggled to score runs. So far they seem to be swinging the bats well too.
  21. It's amazing that Bridge City has a winning program after reading all the negativity coming from their "fans". It sounds like you don't care for your coach. He must be a decent coach because he has a winning program. You could have a "football" coach that doesn't really care that much and wastes the talent that you have. ???
