A lot of people think it is a long shot but HD has played pretty good on the road and still has to play Big Sandy. Feel like the fan support will double for HD next Friday if WH wins this Friday.

Colmesneil is in a different district but is always tough as is Big Sandy.

West Hardin I think will be pretty good if only because they have athletes this year. Have a lot of seniors and if they play they will be good. HD will be young but a solid baseball team. Evadale will be pretty good they have a lot out for baseball and that will be their best sport this year. Sabine Pass has been getting better each year and will be a solid team this year. Spurger will be a solid team this year and the girl is not playing this year. High Island is having to rebuild they lost a lot last year not going to be close to the same team. It will basically come down to who has the best pitching.

Anderson 17pts. Godwin 13pts. Elliott 10pts. And agree the worst officiating I have seen. But the Bobcats played through it and kept their composure. Big night on the foul line for HD shooting 20 of 26. These guys do not give up. Another good come from behind game.

I would agree he would have to win. Which ever of these two teams wins district then that is the coach of the year.

Evadale did win this one 47-45.

How many games left in that district? Will Chireno play Broaddus again? Or did they split.

24-1A has 4 teams in the small school local area top ten.

Sabine Pass has rescheduled their game with H-D to Sat. Feb. 3rd. Game was supposed to be played Friday Jan. 19. This is due to a funeral Friday for a recent graduate of Sabine Pass who was killed in Iraq. Prayers go out to them and the family of this soldier.

Scratch Wed. game moved to Thursday. H-D has cancelled school for tuesday due to inclement weather. Coach Foster, Lilley, and Barbay have decided to move the game to Thursday. Once the refs confirm they can cover it, it will be official. Puts both teams playing back to back Thursday and Friday.

Very tough game, Spurger came out and controlled the game through 2 and a half quarters. Always stayed 10 to 14 points ahead. Down by nine at half HD came out with a few adjustments and went inside and got #44 two quick fouls to put him with three Coach Stapert sat him the rest of the third and half of the fourth. HD put on a show with the press in the fourth quarter. Spurger did not make it past half court very often. If they did they were denied the ball inside and were blocked out after the shot. If HD would play the way they did in the fourth they should give Big Sandy a game. But it was a great come from behind win.

West Hardin was in a very tough 2A district last year and with Kountze, E. Chambers, and Newton in your district it would be tough to take first or second. Last year they had 1A numbers in school but were stuck in a 2A district. They are a legit 1A basketball team and the 2A district gave them great experience for the tougher 1A teams as their record shows. They have a great group of seniors. Next year the talent level will drop but this year is what a 1A school that doesn't play basketball all year waits for every 5 -10 years. You enjoy it when it happens. HD has 2 juniors and 5 sophomores on varsity with 2 more pretty good sophomores on J.V. They should be in the same boat for the next two years.

WH is loaded with very good and focused seniors. And by all accounts they should win. This is their year to shine. HD has 1 senior 2 juniors and 5 sophomores. Their year to shine is soon approaching. But as in football there is a rivalry between the two and WH is undefeated playing HD at home. HD and WH both struggled during the break looking at the scores. But SENIORS have the ability to step up in big games. Question is will the pressure of the rivalry and a perfect season be a factor. It should be a good game if HD will show up and play. If they play like they did in the BC tourny it will get ugly.

Evadale will play Price Carlisle Saturday in Diboll. Evadale's J.V. will play Kelly's J.V. Thursday.

Should be playing Evadale's J.V. Thursday. Evadale plays Price Carlisle Saturday at a neutral site.

I think Sabine Pass will win this one. Chester is pretty bad this year. They are listed next to last in 1a in front of Oakwood.

Did Abundant Life cancel their game with High Island? They cancelled their game with Hull-Daisetta.

Daisetta will travel to Tomball to play Concordia Lutheran.

Oh the choices: Going to Winnie - Al-T's Going to Deweyville - Tuffy's Going to Colmesneil - The Tree

It has seemed to me the last few years that between Hull-Daisetta and West Hardin the team that is supposed to win ends up losing. It is hard to predict who will win this game. It is such a rivalry that you can throw the records and rankings out. These two teams battle to the end.
