Jasper (10) @ Beaumont United (14) - FINAL
Bulldogs92 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
Tough loss for us. This week in Carthage will be a huge challenge, but I hope we'll get better as the season goes along... -
Chapel Hill (56) @ Jasper (20) - FINAL
Bulldogs92 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
I hope this isn't a harbinger of things to come for us. Chapel Hill is an outstanding football team that is experienced and well-coached, but we were two steps behind all night. More than two, really. -
Jasper has another #1 player in the State

Nice! -
I think H-F should be the favorite, but the other three are a toss-up.
-
Do you really think the Mustangs are that good? I know Silsbee lost a lot of kids, but it's hard for me to picture them being 4th.
-
Lots of good games this year. Who's returning for us? Will there be any big scheme changes? Schedule: 8/30 Chapel Hill 9/6 @Palestine 9/13 Lumberton 9/20 @Beaumont United 9/27 @Carthage 10/11 WOS (district) 10/18 Hamshire-Fannett (district) 10/25 @Shepherd (district) 11/1 Silsbee (district) 11/8 @Cleveland-Tarkington (district)

I think he's done more to get kids those opportunities than anybody we've ever had.
-
Don't do that. You know I'm not stupid.
-
He didn't account for the '18 season that the Bulldogs were 12-1 and could have easily gone farther barring injuries to key players.

If Crumedy eventually has bigger aspirations than being in Jasper, every aspect of the program will be looked at when someone interviews him for any job. He knows that. The mindset needs to be that any time someone wears a Jasper uniform, that they're doing everything they possibly can to win. It matters.
-
We're in a tough spot because I believe the most successful days in football are still in front of Coach Crumedy. Short-term, difficult decisions are probably coming with some of these other coaches. Being the laughingstock of East Texas in every other sport is ridiculous,

I'll chime in briefly on this from the perspective of a 50 year-old that saw what it used to be like in Jasper. Our athletes (even the iffy ones like me) played everything that they possibly could and we won a lot because of it. When you have these kids specializing, it limits what their bodies can do. Different sports require different lifting, training, etc., it increases athleticism and range of motion in general. We've got to get kids out of the house and doing all this stuff. Not only would Jasper get back on track, but it would help everyone else, too. I just don't know how we get out of the rabbit hole that they've gone into.

OJ Simpson dies at the age of 76
Bulldogs92 replied to Dirty_but_Dazzling's topic in Professional Sports- NFL, NBA, MLB, Etc
That guy had everything and threw it all away. Hard to have any sympathy for him. -
Agreed. They're terrible. 🙄😁

I hope our kids can play well this weekend. It would be good for them to win a game or two.

#22 Huntington 49 Shallowater 54 - STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Bulldogs92 replied to Bobcat1's topic in High School Girls Basketball
Is there a way to watch this? Would love for Huntington to get it done. -
What's going on with the Dawgs? Those kids are wearing out the struggle bus.

Jasper has another #1 player in the State
Bulldogs92 replied to Dirty_but_Dazzling's topic in High School Football
247 Sports has him as the #3 TE in the country and Rivals has him at #2. He'll probably double his offer count before he decides. -
Check with Mansfield, LA since Coach Barbay is there, He might do it.

College players should be considered employees just like the coaches are with contracts, roster limits and a salary cap. Borrow some of the structure that the NFL uses that can prevent some of this nomadic bull crap. If players and coaches want to move so badly, make them all redshirt or not coach for a year. Stuff like this needs to be put in place...
-
That's cool. I've followed UW since I moved up there in the mid 90s. They have all kinds of money up there to lure in just about anyone and they're moving fast. There could be an announcement as early as tomorrow. My money's on Leipold from Kansas. Most of the experienced players on the roster a week ago are either headed to the draft or in the portal. Bowl eligibility will be a lofty goal next season.
-
DeBoer has certainly proven that he is one of the best coaches in the country and it's a good move for both parties. What's next for UW? I lived in Seattle for a big chunk of my adult life and I've followed the program for a long time. The cupboard of top-flight coaches is pretty light. They might have to think outside the box, which is weird considering that they played for the natty just four days ago...
-
The same thing is happening in Seattle after Pete Carroll was essentially let go. It's like a funeral. I think DeBoer at Washington might get a long look from the folks in Tuscaloosa. UW needs to pony up before he gets tempted...

I'll do it. I can't coach a lick and I'm not expensive enough. PN-G would love me and my 0-10 campaigns for a couple of seasons before they fire me and I end up in Roganville coaching the tiddlywinks team.
