Honestly, I can't say that I ever heard of Concordia Lutheran. What was the score to this game?

first half for EC was good.. they were able to move the ball pretty well. 2nd half was another story.. I would have to say EC was out coached. I don't know what EC was thinking taking penalty after penalty when they had to punt. It cost them 5 yards a pop when they were struggling to contain Newton. I could possibly understand it if it was late in the game but in the 3rd quarter.. it was embarrassing. When the coaches pulled that stunt the players basically said OK.. the plan is to run the clock out and we aren't going to try and score.. They were only down 18- 7 at that point. Not taking anything away from Newton. They were well coached and made adjustments as necessary. I'm just not pleased with the EC drive to win in the second half.. Oh well... this is JMO....

I haven't seen Buna this year but did see Orangefield.. They have some quick folks.. Going with OF in this one by 2 TD's..

Lots of fumbles in this one. Both teams need to work on some center to quarterback exchanges.. YMCA must have had about 30 players... Lot's of speed. EC has plenty of speed just need to work on technigue.

My point on the draft pick issue is I heard from lots of folks just like playa09 when I was a kid and they were wrong and so is he... I am not saying he will play anywhere only that he is a good athlete and shouldn't be addressed in this manner... Go back to the pipeline and be the best you can be playa09

sounds like pantherplay probably didn't get off the kickoff team either... Unless you have a crystal ball you don't know what a kid can do once given the chance at the next level. I speak from experience.. I came out of a small school and wasn't even looked at to play baseball at the next level......but I ended being a 4th round draft pick in 1990 for the San Diego Padres.. Give the kid his due... He is a solid player and could do well for himself later.

I hope EC wins as well but I am not as comfortable saying they will by much. Buna played Anahuac tough to the end but seriously struggled against Hardin. EC stumbled at the end of the Hardin game but was hammered by Anahuac. I will go with EC by 6 only because they are at home.

Gotta go with Kirbyville on this one.

Seniors-HJ Juniors-HF Flag-EC

I just wish the guy would stop entertaining and do more ref'ing. He does the same thing at the kids basketball games and it gets ridicules after a while. He holds the game up trying to get laughs in the stands. Overall, this year they have not be really bad like they were last year in Lonestar... There was a guy last year that would just throw his flag randomly if a kid said he was being held. I asked him if he saw it and he said no. He ended up waiving off the flag. Scary thing was he was the crew leader in several of our games. He was a mess.

Wos Grad, footballplayer.. the game was last week.. EC already won...

I think folks need to understand that anything can happen on any given Saturday. It is true that HJ beat the #2 team in the hat pull 35-0 but lost to a team that the #2 team beat 21-6 so anything can happen. Also, I believe that one division won 3 out of 4 of the playoff games. You just never know. Teams just come together at different times and one missing kid here and there can make all the difference.

Question is, can EC stop the pass? Once Newton figured out they could pass on us it opened up the running game for them. Hope we have been working on that aspect all week....
