  1. Kolarik hit one against galena park, which now makes a total of 3.
  2. Dayton won 14-3 in 5 innings. I believe the school was Summercreek High school. Dylan Kolarik WP
  3. Dayton has always had a few players that play year round select baseball...problem is, only 1 or 2 take baseball seriously. The others participate with other sports (nothing wrong with that), and don't pick up the baseball until the season starts. In the off season, players that only play baseball are in PE and get very little work unless they play select or work on their own. I seriously doubt Dayton will be much of a problem for anybody until they get serious with their program.
  4. Not sure who pitched for KP, but Dylan Kolarik pitched for Dayton and had a couple of strike-outs. Broncos have really improved.
  5. Dylan Kolarik pitched for Dayton. After the first two innings and 4 runs scored for GP, he settled down.
  6. Sorry for the confusion....but the post was "how do you throw a 10 or 11 point lead". Dayton was ahead til the 6th. There was never a 10 or 11 point lead. Both teams played well.
  7. Dayton fans were also in attendance. As posted before, we had the game until the 6th/7th inning, then came back in the 7th for the win.
  8. 10 or 11 point lead?????? Dayton led the entire game until the 6th/7th inning and then came back!
  9. There is no interest for Baseball in Dayton. Only 4 returning with varsity experience. Only 2 ball players that I know of play select ball in the summer (could be one or two more) and only 1 of those plays in the Fall with Houston area select teams. In the offseason, if you do not play another sport, you are in PE. Football is the big sport for Dayton and its fans.
  10. Mike Rutledge is certainly a great person and manager. My son is currently in his second year with Kyle Chapman, after playing previously with major select teams, and has expressed this organization is by far the best.
  11. Dayton lost a great pitcher in Smesny, no doubt, but we have Sr RHP Cameron Crapo, who didnt see the mound very much last year, and also JR LHP Dylan Kolarik coming back. Also look to see a whole lot of new faces.
  12. I just have to say how proud I am of the Broncos. They started playing ball towards the end of their season and actually gave a few of the top teams in this district a run for their money. I know they surprised Nederland by giving them a better ballgame and I'm pretty sure PNG was sweating up until their rally in the 7th. Great job Dayton.
  13. Erik Kolarik graduating 2008 as Valedictorian plays Varsity baseball for the Dayton Broncos. Is a member of NHS and competed at state level for Quiz team and Poultry Judging for FFA. Plans to attend TX A&M.
  14. No music was played trying to distract the pitcher.. That is a flat out lie!! The only music played was between innings and each player has walk-up music. Get your facts straight before you post! Fact is, the music is only played while the opposing team is playing defense and played loudly right up until the pitcher goes into his windup. Just to be clear, "Walk-up" music is played loudly as Vidor's batters are walking up to the plate and are settling into the batters box, then shut off just as the pitcher is ready to release the ball. But, while Vidor is playing defense, and while their pitcher's are on the mound doing their thing, trying to concentrate, the music is shut off. I would think the loud music would definitely distract an opposing pitcher. Too bad the officials won't control this obnoxious practice. Once your batter is in the batter's box, there's your que to shut it off. Play your "Walk-up" music, key word being "Walk" then shut it off. Vidor is not the only school that does this, but they are definitely the loudest and most obvious.
  15. The boys from Dayton know "dey" earned this win and "dey" earned "everythin" in regards to this game. From what I heard, and I wasn't at this game, Lumberton went thru about 6 pitchers. Dayton used 2.
