1. Went to and played for PN-G, I live in Round Rock, just 5 minutes from Georgetown.  But I will be at this next game with my PN-G shirt on, raising hell for the bulldogs!  Glad to see my neighbors up here in my neck of the woods.  My wife and I will be there! That said, I've seen Georgetown play twice this year.  Do not underestimate them.  When they were in 5A, they were nearly winning against Round Rock Stony Point who made it to the semi's 2 years in a row.  They always made us nervous.  They are very well coached and do not get discouraged.  Their wins this season is proof of that.  So don't get cocky, may come back to bite you.  Respect all, but fear no one!  Go Bulldogs!
2. Pulling for the dogs up here in Round Rock!  If Nederland and Georgetown win, this PN-G Indian will be at that game!
3. Ok here's one for you if you don't think LM has a "reputation"...... this is completely unrelated to this thread, or anything discussed thus far.  My son who was a Jr. at Round Rock Stony Point (over 4 and half hours away from anything SE Texas or Galveston Area) commented that some officials noticed Stony Point come out jawing and prancing around, dancing/swaying, pointing at the other side.  I commented to him that they looked ridiculous acting like that and they should come out focused and all business.............. here is what he told me, they called it their "LaMarque intrance".  Now this is coming from a kid who knows nothing of this, but this was straight out of his mouth while we were sitting at the dinner table.  So these discussions happen beyond this board.  I'm proud to say, that his Sr. year, they didn't do that anymore.  I asked why, and he told me the coach told them to stop - so there ya go. I guarantee you, that back in my day, Coach Etheridge would have benched, if not kicked off the team, every single player involved.  Those that remained would have ran with 25 pound weight vests until the "point" he was making set in.  However, this was before it was politically incorrect to instill values of any kind.
4. Really hard to think about anything else right now due to the news out of Orange - but we were at this game tonight when I received the txt message - Final was Round Rock 46 - DeSoto 29.  RIP Reggie and God bless you from Round Rock  :'(
5. From Round Rock and Port Neches - Our prayers and deepest condolences to the Garrett Family, team, and WOS community.

7. My stepson (Gus Barrera) took it to em  ;D  109 yards on 9 carries.  Ran for 3 TDs and passed for 1.  Took a little off the PN-G loss.  Not much, just a little.
8. Yeah, very proud of him.  Just wish they were playing at PN-G  ;D  Sounds like we'll be travelling to Dallas next weekend I hear.  I'm just glad PN-G doesn't have to play Stony Point.  That would be the dilemma of a lifetime.
9. Yeah, PN-G lastnight (ugh) and then Stony Point tonight.  PN-G lastnight (ugh) then had to work tonight.  But listening online.  My wife (his mom) keeps texting me  ;)
10. Go Stony Point!  My stepson is the QB (3 touchdowns) Gus Barrera.
11.
here is a list of nicknames for texas schools just in 1A Div.1 If you want to get technical and over sensitive go to a Thesaurus and look some of them up, you might find REBEL  isnt as bad as you thought. It might be a lot of self perception.......... Those in bold could be on the next overly sensitive list. Bulldogs(16) Eagles(15) Wildcats(10) Tigers(10) Mustangs(9) Pirates(9) Hornets(8) Bobcats(7) Indians(7) Panthers(6) Longhorns(4) Lions(4) YellowJackets(4) Buffaloes(3) Badgers(3) Trojans(3) Bearcats(3) Cardinals(3) Elks(2) Comanches(2) Jackrabbits(2) Owls(2) Cowboys(2) Bears(2) Cougars(2) Rebels(2) Academy(2) Greyhounds Roughriders Fighting Irish Bucks Skyrockets Broncos Cyclones Chiefs Steers Wolverines Roughnecks Antelopes Braves Shorthorns Moguls Pied Pipers Yellow Hammers Knights Plowboys Blizzards Rattlers Monarchs Punchers Gators Wampus Cats Gladiators Blue Devils Wolves Hawks Jaguars Flyers Rams Sandies Oilers Sharks Bluejays Yeguas Angoras Beavers Marlins Pride But wouldnt anyone understand that the Little town of Italy, Texas might think Gladiators was a good nickname for their football team. But how many know gladiators were slaves and made to fight for entertainment. I hope my Italian ancestors arent offended. Come on folks lighten up. Move on. The kids dont care about the name or mascot they just know they have pride in their school and whats wrong with that. Im thru with this topic. You the media can pursue it if you like but there is a name for people like you. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
haha, this is perfect, let me see how I can jump on the bandwagon - FINALLY * I have a bulldog, the family loves him dearly (and I'm from PN-G) - so therefore I don't like how he's being represented - lawsuit * I was stung by a yellowjacket once - conjures up bad memories - lawsuit. * I have ancestors that were in the confederacy - therefore the term "Rebel" offends me - lawsuit * Both of my grandfathers were cowboys/ranchers - lawsuit * I am half "fighting" Irish - this is the worst - we don't fight - lawsuit * Cyclones - I have personally seen one take out my grandparents silo - bad memories - lawsuit * Knights - I'm a member of the Knights of Columbus at church, we do great things - I don't know what to think now - lawsuit * Yellow hammers - I have a red one - this may be ok then - no lawsuit * Plowboys - See cowboys and grandparents - lawsuit * Blue devils - this celebrates satan - big lawsuit * Flyers - I have to fly for work - alot - don't single me out - lawsuit * Oilers - my dad worked for Exxon Mobil - what's that supposed to say?? - lawsuit I never realized just how many options I have, this is awesome!
12. I too am extremely sick of the whole political correctness plague.  I am Scottish and Irish - 50/50 and proud of both.  The thought has never occurred to me to to sue, shut down, slander, etc The Highland Park Scots or Notre Dame Fighting Irish.  Rather, I thought, that's kinda cool.  I AM ONE OF THOSE.
