If it was only a jab at HJ, then why did you say "schedule Ozen". You said that in response to the speculation that Joubert was going to get the job. How is this not a shot at Joubert. Be a man...either retract the statement or stand behind it.

I can assure that, if Joubert gets the job, he will gladly schedule you. Beating guys like you is how he gets his typical 30 wins a season. It will not be his fault if your boy does not get the job. Focus the blame on the decision makers if you don't like the decision. Bottom line...if your opinion is really that Joubert is anything less than a top tier basketball coach in this state, then you are clueless about the game and the fact that you are ever given a team to coach is a joke. Anyone with a brain knows that this would be a great hire for Ozen, and saying that does not mean that Coach Saveat would not have done a great job. I'm sure either of them will continue to lead Ozen to the level of success that they have come to expect.

I think Buna is headed to Austin. I just hope Yogi got some bigger pants. Last season they were a big distraction...even the AD could not concentrate during one particular game in Lufkin. I'm sure Coach Terrier has corrected this situation. Good Luck boys! Keep it going... --Brad

The reason everyone is saying that this is for the district championship is because it is...Kountze and Hardin are quality teams but both have already lost to Buna. If Buna wins then certainly you would assume they will win out. If EC wins, then they should be able to beat 2 teams that were beaten by Buna. I think if Buna does not turn the ball over and plays physical for 4 quarters, then the Cougars will prevail...BUNA 28 EC 20!

No offense to the Hornets...just wanted to point out that a lot of Hardin fans predicted victory...this game was not close...please don't blame officials...just admit you got beat and get ready for Kountze...good luck, their defense is solid.

Bradley Morgan and the Buna staff have done an excellent job and deserve some consideration in the 2A ranks.

Hardin will continue their assault on the playoffs. Anahuac will need turnovers to make this one a game.

I love checking the prediction board for Buna games each week...it is always the same. People getting on here and predicting a close game or an upset of Buna. It has been Burkeville, Tarkington, H-D, Anahuac, and now Kountze. Buna will continue to roll until the big game versus EC. It is funny how none of the posters from these previous games ever come back on Saturday and admit they were wrong. As for the Eaglefan...the smart Newton people came out of the scrimmage with respect for Buna. Guess what catagory that puts you in? You may not like their schedule, you may have everything inside you saying 'come on...this is Buna', but like it or not these boys can play with the elite 2A teams of SE Texas.

Burkeville needs to remove teams from 24 AA and defending state champs from their schedule...they gotta give their kids a chance to build a little...the Pirates by a lot

Bad timing for the kids from the Island...the Hornet fun-n-gun rolls into town and lights that score board up!

Every game since the O-Field game, someone has gotten on here and said "Burkeville", or "Tarkington", and now "Hull" was gonna hang tough with Buna. Wake up boys...It remains to be seen if Buna can beat the 'big boys' of 2A in SE Texas...but you better recognize that they are in that group. This aint your grandpa's Buna. They will take Hull to the woodshed. And, after the physical wupin they gave them last year, you can bet the kids from Hull aren't looking forward to it. They have tough kids at Hull and they will put on a stiff upper-lip, but they will be glad when this week is past. Someone on the Tarkington sideline last week made this statement..."Heck they lost 6 fumbles in the first half, if they could have held on to the football they may have scored 100!"

Has anybody heard anything?

The only problem with Buna and the "Uncle Chuck" theory is that "Uncle Chuck" was a basketball coach (and is a basketball guy through and through) and they were put in the district with Kountze and EC...if "Uncle Chuck" was trying to help Buna they might have told him thanks for nothing. They would have been a lot better off in the northern 2A district for hoops.

If Deweyville really struggled with Evadale, it could be tough run through a much improved district. I just don't see them in the playoffs againg this year.

EC is too dependent on 1 player...he's a stud but the supporting cast just isn't there this year...HF takes this one!

Buna by a much as they feel like...they won't be challenged again until district!

Just talked to a friend that was there...said it was 62-6 Buna with a running clock and 10 minute quarters in the 2nd half. About like most intelligent people predicted!

Sounds like the Hornets are set to make some noise in the district this year...I would not be supprised to see Hardin beat Deweyville, Anahuac, and Warren and slide into the playoffs behind Buna and EC.
