Lamar State College-Port Arthur head softball coach Vance Edwards capped a highly productive recruiting season in the past two weeks by signing five more high quality players including Bridge City catcher/first baseman Christina Jaques, Vidor utility player Jerrica Stephenson (left) and Vidor catcher Jennifer Dixson (right). Jaques, the 2007 District 21-3A Offensive Player of the Year, is a four-sport athlete who hit .614 this season for the Lady Cardinals as they went undefeated in district play for the fifth year in a row. Dixson and Stephenson, a District 20-4A second team pick, helped the Vidor Lady Pirates reach the 2007 post season playoffs. Walk-on players are welcome to sign up for the fall semester softball class, Edwards said. Interested players are asked to fill out the Student-Athlete questionnaire on the Softball page of the Lamar State College-PA website: www.lamarpa.edu.

I respect your opinion. It may not pass but then again it might. 90% of the smaller schools are all for it. Gives them a better chance for the playoffs.
