1. My son has caught Matt in spring select, fall select and lessons for the last 4 years. Says he is one of the few pitchers that he can actually start 8-10in’s out of the zone, work it until he gets the call and live there. Matts work ethic is incredible. He possesses a lot of the “uncoachable”  qualities majority of ballplayers nowadays just don’t have. Hustle, Heart and a TRUE passion for the game! If there is one HS player I want my son/sons to emulate, its Matt Hicks. Congrats Buddy!!
Oops my bad...I was thinking of Hester @ Vidor. Three very solid pitchers representing SeTexas.
True...........
 3.
I am glad 78Stang that you clarified your comment and I am sorry you have had a negative experience with Select Baseball. My son has played Select ball for seven years and is beginning his third season of Highschool ball. I have not seen the problems you have descibed. We have several Select players on our Highschool team and I have not heard any complaints. These young men tend to be the leaders of the team and not the source of moral problems. A Select player generally brings to a team a better understanding of the game. This all comes from hard work and most coaches reward hard work whether you are a Select player or not. As for as the "Prima Donas" you described, I can only say that my son has been taught that the team comes first and he needs to do his job. His job is to play the very best baseball he can. I've seen that quality in the other Select players on our team. I believe the experiences you have had are not in the "majority" that you described.
AMEN Bro!!!
 4. Central / CO Wilson game was one the best Middle school games i've ever seen. Congrats to Central on a BIG win.
 5. GTB Prospects 10u played GREAT this weekend! Dont believe they gave up a hit till the championship game, might be wrong but if they did, it wasnt many. Hats off to the 9u teams that played up and competed VERY well. Gladiators and Vipers  9u will win ALOT of game within thier age group. Bmt. Bullets played us tuff and should be proud!!!! Props to thier fans also, no matter the score, them people are in the game and on thier feet, and thats what the kids need. Great Tournament, looking forward to the next.
 6. Of course only a few days into practice but CO Wilson looks pretty good, and Lynch, Vandiver and Smith will have em ready by game time, No doubt!
