  1. Roschon has more IT factor than any player I've watched in my three years in SETX. Kary Vincent a close second.
  2. That's straightforward but I'm not sure fair (what really is fair, though?). It'd be tough for Newton, a team I think has a very good shot of making a deep playoff run, to beat any 22-5A team purely because of how many less players they've got. I think West Brook ran into that problem vs. The Woodlands. Off topic but I'm hoping those mega school eventually are put into their own classification.
  3. If I did divide the rankings into big schools and small schools, it'd still be difficult IMO. It'd difficult to split down the middle 1A-3A/4A-6A because most of the schools in my coverage area are 3A, 4A and 5A. There really isn't any perfect algorithm or wealth of teams like Houston. Houston Chron does a top 10 for each classification. Can't do that in Bmt. Thanks for the kind words.
  4. Fair. Buna, like LC-M, was right outside top 10. That game vs. Woodville this week will be a good one.
  5. Extends as south as Sabine Pass and north to Newton/Jasper. Eastward to the Louisiana border. Westward, it's Anahuac.
  6. No worries. LC-M's definitely close to being in. Silsbee win was real impressive.
  7. Liberty isn't in our coverage area, so I don't include them. LC-M is probably one of the first teams on the outside looking in.
  8. Enterprise Top 10 Rankings for this week As always, let me know what you disagree with... [Hidden Content]
  9. I have a feeling it'll be a universal rule in a few years. Peevey at West Brook loves the idea, so do most coaches and fans. I think it'll stick.
  10. As many of you probably know, UIL implemented home-field advantage for the first round of the 5A playoffs starting next year. Most coaches are in favor of it but I want to know what fans think. If anyone has a minute, shoot me a PM or a text - 602-577-1472. Thanks.
  11. Like I promised ST413 on Friday, everything I put together for the high school page (except box scores) for Sunday's newspaper now has a home on our website. I'll be doing this every week moving forward. Week 7 stat leaders (top 10 passing, rushing, receiving): [Hidden Content] Week 7 game balls: [Hidden Content] How the Enterprise Top 10 fared: [Hidden Content] Week 8 schedule: [Hidden Content] Also, went out to Sabine Pass last week and wrote about their return to football: [Hidden Content] Thanks for reading.
  12. Good news on this one. Starting this week, everything I put on our Sunday sports page dedicated to high school football will be available online minus box scores. That means things like Top 10 area leaders, Game Balls (I give out five) and how the teams in our Enterprise poll fared will be available online. Anything that is stat-based will likely be online Saturday afternoon or earlier, depending on how quickly team statisticians get back to me.
  13. Have to disagree with this. I spend a good amount of time on SETX Sports to get a sense of what the diehards in the area want. And you have to remember there are a heck of a lot of readers who aren't frequenting this site and will read different types of articles. Our numbers show that, I promise.
  14. I'd be glad to have this conversation with anyone because it's a legitimate one. Think Ashly would agree. On more of a deeper level, I can only speak about the Enterprise, obviously. I'm not involved with the decision process for 6 and 12 or VYPE or anyone else who covers this area. Wish people like Soulja would give my coverage a chance and not associate it with past reporters but I get it. You're not the only one who feels that way nor will you be the last. Anyways, I'll be at PAM-PNG tomorrow. Probably pretty early. Feel free to find me there or here or wherever if anyone has legitimate comments/questions/concerns.
  15. Newton is fantastic. If they go undefeated in the regular season, they'll easily move up in my rankings.
  16. I'm just the type of person who can't knock a two-time defending champ with 31 wins in a row off the top spot. As for West Brook, they're very, very good. If they win tomorrow and go undefeated in district, I'll likely put them No. 1 at some point, though. Their district is obviously more difficult that WO-S' district.
  17. Who would you have over Lumberton? Would have had Silsbee 10 had they won Saturday.
  18. I think the two teams are extremely close but PN-G has impressed me a tad more so far, even against lesser opposition.
