tupca...first...glad to see your alive... second...who is getting thrown under the bus...we all know coaches can be hired, fired, and reassigned... What MB choose is his business, but the job is on the table... I think your post fails to support.....

EX...I will bet my paycheck against yours the new coach brings at least 3 coaches with him..... A young gun who has maybe had some success would agree to less, but most traditional guys from the outside now a days bring the army if they can.... I expect an outsider...."Which when you say it over and over gives you a little gritty feel..."... Outsider...Outsider.....BOOM!

I think you could even possibly take 3 out of 6 team districts and 4 out of 8 team districts.....But the 4 out of 6 is nuts.....

I by all means agree with the educating, promoting, and instilling pride in young men and women in HS these days....However its been a long time since I have seen a school that continues to lose across the board in athletics that toots their horn that they have school pride and school spirit.....Most of us on these boards have participated in sports and most likely had at least one boys or girls winning program that had been established at your school....In SeTexas its football for most...And of course certain schools are know for hoops, volleyball etc....But someone was winning and the pride/spirit began..... This is where I differ from some of the previous posts....In SeTexas (Football) coaches know at 90% of the schools that success on the field is part of their duties....NEDERLAND/PNG/WBROOK/WOS etc....If looking for a new coach would not have to worry about "building pride" or "building community spirit"....In these programs the foundation is solid.....Those types of programs need what people love about sports..WINNING.....So when the next big job comes open, I hope I dont hear people shouting..."We want someone that is genuine and will teach our young men respect".....All the good ones know that and most likely have that on their plate already.....Search for the WINNER the one who has proven her or she can do it!

Change happens in programs and this change will happen just like the others...Bring in a new hd coach with his 3 or 4 guys and in 3 or 4 years see where they have moved the program...

New Beginning....Hiring a new OC would have needed to happen previously and no action was taken....I think we will see a decision that allows a new guy to come in with the new staff....Which he in turn (i hope) would evaluate the staff (obviously they ould bring an OC/DC) with them.....But evaluate the rest of the staff to see who fits his mold.... Interesting to say the least.....

Exactly....Isnt that what a discussion board like this is for....No one is "dog and ponying" and while coaches in sports get hammered by everyone no one has lost the respect or came out and slandered anyone...Just all interested in the next move.....

I agree with the budget not being a problem for the Hd Coaching position as well....If there is a reassignment/termination going to happen I think you would see a (Masters Prefferred) on the job description which in turn would allow for Admin. Level pay for the Hd. Coaching position... The one thing I think many people forget is that at any level of coaching the public feels as if they know "everything" that is going on with the program..."My son told me....I heard one of the coaches said this....etc".....If you have been a coach you truly know what goes on inside and the ups and downs of running a competitive programs...Its tough.....However coaches also know that while signing that coaching contract they can come under harsh public critiques and school boards are elected to support those same citizens... All in all go look at how many people actually voted for school board over the past years compared to how many people show up at a football game in the PNGISD...Its sad...People want to complain but dont even vote for those making the "big decisions".....

I dont think anyone on this post is accusing anyone of anything...People are just wondering what the next steps will be in the PNG situation...Everyone knows MB is a class act and stand up coach...No one is taking that away....We shall see I guess....

I wonder if the School Board Meeting is over yet....If not it will be the longest in a while....ooops...I forgot the ticket situation!!! ;D

When will Lamar have their 2nd phase of hiring additional staff?...I cant remember how they were doing it....Anyone remember or know???

Most Hd Coaches can be let go that have masters but I dont think MB has his.... However they still have their teaching assignment...I would expect a reassignment if he takes it.... If it does open up, I truly hope it will be a true "open" position because I would love to see the applicants for this job.....Is anyone at the school board meeting or better yet "outside" the closed doors to give us an update...????

I am definately no insider....Just curious as to the movement of the coaching staffs after this year....Same for LCM etc....

Probably a reassignment since he is under a teacher contract and not an admin contract....I would think he would turn that down...I would love to see him on the Lamar staff....Recruiting....

I like MB but I think it will happen sooner than people think.

It will be a re-assign type deal for MB...He deserves every bit of that offer....I doubt he will take it and move on to Lamar Univ staff as a recruiter..He played and played well there and does have a daughter still in HS...... Outside the SETexas ranks are very qualified candidates for the job...The issue will be the money for some of the better candidates....75K aint gonna cut it for some of those cats...Camp Money at some of the big schools is where some of those OC and DC are making the gravy!!!

What some need to remember is that the PNG job is the Coordinator job and not the Athletic Director position. Although some would head to the job in a heartbeat others do have it pretty nice where they are now....The suburb coaches in Houston/Dallas make the money becuase of their AD title (with masters in hand)....The PNG position lacks this and will lack the pay compared to others....Many names will come about, but do expect a younger breed to be housed on the Reservation....We all have our favorites...As do I....

1. PNG 2. Nederland/Vidor 3. Silsbee I am pretty sure there are others that would be after that but those are the fans that come out night after night it "DROVES"...... I dont see much of 2A ball so not sure on that end..... Port Neches-Groves is hands down top here.....No doubt....

I'm pretty sure all of us have seen mutiple HS games between multiple HS in this area....The fans are what everyone throughout the state talks about, being that the support of the community is what every high school player would love to see on friday night... The sad part is people get out of hand about a dang friday night football game that "kids" are playing....Go out support em, yell, scream, and jump up and down, but when the horn goes off you can either slap hands with your team as they win or go home with your tail between your legs..... Some people look like fools....I guess it just gives me a reason to laugh walking out of the stadium!!!

I have seen them both play and if Nederland can come out on 1st down with 3-4 yard gain the advantage is in their favor...Livingston's front line does a great job in blowing people off the ball which if it continues to smash mouth its way through could have success.... I wont play the "jet lag" factor here.....High scoring since Nederlands "D" will have trouble, Livingstons secondary will give up (2) big plays..... Livingston 38 Nederland 27
