  1. What a great week for a softball tourney. It was fun to see many local kids and parents at the fields in Sulphur. Got a chance to watch Rowdie play and they looked good. Heck they lasted longer than any GT area team. Weed can coach a mean 1st base and keep the crowd entertained. The GT Shockers Gold did well, winning 3 or 4 bracket games before bowing out to the ULL pitcher who was playing for LA United Gold and a scrappy LA Voodoo team. Darn Louisiana teams!!! Was really great to see DaMan and former player of mine Lana Bowers, ULL catcher supporting the girls. I saw some great softball and some great hospitality. Never hurts to be 8 miles from the boats!! Good luck to all the teams and hope to see you in OK City!!!!
  2. Angelina College will be having a tryout at Roadrunner Field (at college) Friday, August 1 at 10:00am. This a new program and is a great opportunity for any 2008 graduate not signed. They will be hosting another tryout in Septmember for 2009-2010 graduates. For more information contact Head Coach Vega at Angelina College 936-633-5282
  3. saw some good softball teams from the area today in Sulphur. OCG lost a close one to a very good La. United team. OC also lost to a good team in Challengers, and GT Gold beat the Katy Cruisers Gold. Looking forward to seeing more tomorrow
  4. Trout what a great post!! Your absolutely welcome for any help I may give, and I truly want to thank you for allowing me to put me 2 cents in (for what's it worth). Not only have you built a great softball team, but you are molding great women. Being tough will never hurt anyone. As a fan in the stands, your actions and words may be tough to understand, But those girl's know how much you care and know that you love them. Sugar coating is good for candy but not winning. Thanks for all that you have done for Lori and the rest of the team. You know I will always be around to support you. Good luck in OK City. Heck you just might see a Big Gander there. God Bless Robert Chambliss
  5. Great job GT Shockers and Trout. I Heard Lori won all 4 games in the circle. Good luck in OKC
  6. what a great day for softball at Ford Park Until the rain came. It was good seeing Cheater, DaMan, Darby and numerous others at the ball park. Good luck to the teams the rest of the summer Man that Karma Nazi has killed me, -480, wow. Get a life!!! I hope you get pleasure smiting behind your cpu screen
  7. Hey, be careful or i will delete that ! ;D well you can have small paddles if you have a big boat. Or your juicing and can paddle fast
  8. Moderator School! ;D Will it be held at the Greyhound track or the Lake Charles, and will the school pay for the tab?
  9. You better have a big paddle if Big Gander is in the boat, or your a$$ will sink
  10. I try to stay pretty much on the SB board. The FB board seems to be a lot more malicious than this one, I'll agree. It appears to be the judgement of the moderators on each board. I have looked at some post on the FB, that I thought should be taken down, but didn't do it myself, because I would guess they have established a level of trash that is acceptable on that board, and the posters there, know what it is. So I let the mods on that board make decisions on what is and what is not acceptable. Sometimes I may be a little trigger happy, but I also get pm's asking me to intervene. Overall, though, I believe it has lead to a more harmonious board here. I won't always make the right decision, and everyone will not always be happy, but I do what I think is right. And I believe you do a great job. But the Dayton post was just for humor. I promise you many people laughed. Now removing the stuff about Lana was strange. I only stated the facts. As a freshman she started 50 games at catcher and played DP in 10 more. She is a great young lady who won her starting spot because of her work ethic and ability, not because of some other factor.
  11. Thanks for all the input. I don't mind moderators doing their job. My question is how do you become a moderator?
  12. What did I say that violated anything. I asked if they had another 1b player that couldn't pitch? If you knew the whole story, you might laugh, but then again you might not.
  13. Let's see the entire Dayton post, about Monika, and large parts of the GT dream team section. But it's ok. It is a great teaching moment, to show student's how communism creeps into a democratic society. By the way the greatest Coach in the area is GOD
  14. It's amazing to me also. But I just have to laugh sometimes. Some people will never understand what other's do for them. Today alone, i saw stuff removed and another thread deleted, WOW. Are we really that scared to let people talk?????????
  15. As a US Government and Economics instructor, I teach my students about the freedoms and liberties that we have been afforded by incredible people. As a veteran of the US Army, I defended my country with pride and joy. As a father , I teach my son, that he has certain rights that are protected as long as they don't violate other peoples' liberties. So I am puzzled to why when someone asks a question on this site or says something that hurts someone's ego, a MODERATOR, WHO I THINK There are ABOUT 3 OR 4, gets on here and either deletes a topic or delete's certain messages. I have NEVER seen slander or libel in here, look it up, if you don't know what that is. Healthy discussion is good for our forum, so why do people feel obligated to delete people's opinion? The next time I teach a class, please come by and share with my FREEDOM SEEKING AMERICAN STUDENTS and tell us how you feel freedom of speech should be censored on this forum. God Bless
  16. Well RoddyC, I am really glad you moved Monika to Huffman. It was a pure pleasure coaching her. I hope Angelina has as much fun as Monika did
  17. Dayton was just curious if you had anymore 1B girl's that CAN'T pitch. I loved that one last year, Covington girl, who couldn't pitch for you and could only play 1st. SFA is looking for a few more like that
  18. Well after some softball, I dropped in to watch BH abd Huffman basketball. Huffman had to win to keep any faint hope of playoffs alive. They played hard and cut the lead to 2 a few times. However, every time they made a rub, Mr. Ybarra took over. He scored 43 or 45 points in total, andwas truly a 1 man show. Great student, great player , great kid
