  1. NSU - Brandon Richey Lamar - Collin DeLome, Michael Ambort, Allen Harrington, Erik Kannaby, Scott Meyer McNeese - Derek Blackshere, Brian Cartie, Charlie Kingrey thats all i know...did i miss anyone? (5 players from lamar!!!)
  2. a very very well deserved recipiant also...everyone in the area can vouch for me when i say he is in fact the hardest working player in the area. unreal work habits. i called him today to congratulate him and he told me he IS signing and goin into the Marlins farm program as soon as he can...great job, and again congrats!!!
  3. haha MIF, great point...your right, it doesn't matter if jasper is the best 3A team of all time...they are in fact the best 3A team in 2007 hahaha and the 2004 LaGrange team with Homer Bailey was a great team...(and what a debut he had tonight in Cincinnatti!)
  4. before i throw my answer...i just want to see jaspers overall team stats...cause the 2005 BC baseball team was UNREAL for a 3A team...but im not gunna say that the 05 team was the best ever (we didnt win state of course...) but i do wanna see jaspers stats before i can throw a real answer (so i can compare)
  5. ok folks...i am NOT tryin to make enemies here at all...all i was tryin to get across was the parents of BC to STOP down-grading coach Bryant. all i heard in the stands (and delano i KNOW you didn't hear...) was people trashin coach bryant...and the ONLY reason was because they called him an "idiot"...and ONLY because he wasn't a vocal coach...in 05 i cant say he was much of a "mentoring coach" as you wished he was, but, he did keep us in line and keep us into the game, and when we were in Austin, he pumped us up beyond belief....it was unreal....it just took at 14th Pittsburgh Pirate draft pick pitcher to beat us... (and yes...i've kept tabs...it still gets to me...)... the only message i was HOPING to send was, even though coach bryant may not be the vocal, enthusiastic (coach moore...who was also a GREAT coach for BC) coach...he has his OWN style...that has proven to win, and regardless he "ran into a gold mine of talent" like they said, it takes a great coach to "harnest that talent"...
  6. so wait...Texas and Vanderbilt are ranked in the top 10...but are FINISHED with their season?...they shouldn't even be in the top 16!!! they are eliminated!!! finished!!! done!!! how can you rank them in the top 10!?!?...just amazing...
  7. Ok...as a former player of Coach Bryant, let me speak my peace...i opened this thread so people can take their heads out of (you know) and LOOK AT THE NUMBERS!!! first off, get off the guys back...he has not done ANYTHING to make people mad. Just because he's not a loud, boisterous, out spoken coach/person, why do you bash on him? he is a baseball GENIUS! ask his players...he KNOWS the game. he's been coaching bc baseball since 2004 (varsity)...what has he done? 04- ranked #3 in state (early exit in playoffs) 05- ranked #4 in state, region III champs, state semi finalist 06-ranked #1 in state, region III champs (again...), state semi finalist, 07 - ranked #2 in state, region III finalist... the man has brought BC Baseball 3 out of 4 district championships...and who did he lose the district crown to this year? a state tournament qualifying team...NOT TO MENTION he took the #2 team in district to the regional FINALS!!! BEAT the #1 team in the state (carthage)!!! not to mention when he coached in Buna, he brought Buna to state...come on...BUNA i go to the games and hear people whine and moan about coach bryant...WHY!!! are you THAT STUPID!!! the ONLY negative remark i hear against him is that "he's an idiot"...and you know that 95% of the people that say that are parents that done really even KNOW him, or even played for him. people take him not being very outspoken as bein an "idiot."... if BC ever loses coach bryant, i feel very very very sorry, and if he is ever to be released, then i will be embarassed to be a BC Baseball fan...we've had the great priviledge of having the states TOP QUALITY of coaches come through this program...but NO OTHER BRIDGE CITY COACH HAS EVER DONE WHAT COACH BRYANT HAS DONE!!! not even coach chuck young... you can safely say, Coach Billy Bryant IS Bridge City Baseball, and I am damn proud to have had him as my coach throughout high school, and these past 2 years, i thouroughly enjoy seeing him futher push the tradition of Bridge City Baseball to all time highs... Good Luck Coach
  8. im just wonderin if yall knew that the game is over!!! jasper is in the state tournament RIGHT NOW as we speak, why are we not supporting them... im probably one of the BIGGEST BC Baseball fans out there (former player '05) and hated seein them lose, but they did...its part of the game (look at Vanderbilt *ranked 1 in the nation* knocked out in regionals...Texas *ranked 4* knocked out also)...these things happen in baseball...the game is OVER congratulate Jasper, they won 2 games out of 3...not a 1 game...they beat bc TWICE in the playoffs...not to mention TWICE in district...as much as i HAAAATE to say it...Jasper was the better team this year, and deserves to go... (if you beat a team 4 out of 5 times...you know what im talking about...) Good Luck Jasper and people that keep talking about "the slip"...get over it...the game is over, and there is a more important game about to start in 2 hours, how bout we start talking about that? and once again Coach Bryant...GREAT JOB!!! (THREE Regional Finals appearances along with 2 back-to-back Region III Championships!...you are futher INCREASING the great tradition of BC Baseball)
  9. well...ive seen BC playoff games since ive been back home...sadly, its been 1 win and 2 losses (games 2 and 3 of the softball team, and game 2 of bc vs wharton). *the softball team had a great year, sorry to see them lose out early again...but their coach is a GREAT coach...i predict that program to stay up top in the state, and i promise promise you that they will have more deeper runs in the playoffs* (on to the baseball team, haha) what i saw in my only game to watch bc play, i can't say that i was really impressed, but i know it was a bad game for them. from what ive heard, with stringer's pitching, i would say bc will take game 1, no prob (but that's just goin by word-of-mouth)...now...meeks on the bump gives me doubts for game 2 for bc. wharton, who really didnt swing all that well, did knock him up pretty good. meeks has a good curve and decent slider that will keep them off balance, but at the same time...i didnt see many called strikes out of those pitches. so, if bc is to win game 2, their sticks will have to come to play, cause i would imagine bc will give up a few runs in that game. their defense to me looks very very good. i was really impressed with the freshman third baseman, and the freshman shortstop. i am iffy about right field though...the kid was makin the can of corn catches look scary (like he's not really fundamentally sound...) the offense will have to be more than just your top 4 hitters in your line up...the game i saw...bolton, dishon (who was walked the whole game...but did give you a threatning baserunner none the less), jackson, and hicks were the only ones who not only hit the ball well...but gave competitive at bats. to me, when you got past those hitters...you were looking at 'dead outs.' (like i said...this is off of ONE game of me watchin) but again, i wasn't looking at results of your at bat whether they got hits or hit home runs or not... like...delano, estrada, wiley, and some other kid...didnt even compete at the plate... i say for bc to advance, the whole line up will need to compete and get those hits, cause from now on the pitching they will face will be very very solid...no podunk pitching (except for jasper and a kid from silsbee) that they saw all year in district... good luck guys!
  10. crap...that list isn't even completed of the 05 class...i went on to play college ball...and so did Dustin Hood (wake forest), Brock Lemire (Tyler JC...who is having an absolutely AMAZING season) Cody Deitz (Panola) Patrick Ford and Darrell Bass are both at Angelina... if anything...the baseball talent is goin UP! the young kids in the select groups in SETX are winning nat'l championships...i know BC Pony boys won a lot of things...the babe ruth summer teams are bringin home more tournament wins than ever before and i promise you the college commitment in SETX is up alot higher than it was 8 years ago...SETX is now known as the "hot bed" for baseball due to the recent success and its prominant athletes... look at the high school success in the past 5 years... png state tourney bc state tourney BACK TO BACK woodvill state CHAMPS not to mention the state rankings...it seems in 5,4,3 and 2A...there are local teams (in most cases more than 1) in the top 10 in the state...
  11. FIVE RUN EIGHTH GIVES WBU THE WIN ([Hidden Content]) Pioneer catcher B.J. Myers's (Bridge City) three-run homer highlighted a five-run eighth inning in WBU's 11-8 win over Eastern New Mexico at Wilder Field on Monday in front of over 700 raucous guests from Thunderbird and Edgemere Elementary Schools. Down 8-6, Matt Knobbe led the eighth off with a triple. Bobby Curtis walked to set up Myers, who hammered the 1-0 pitch over the left centerfield wall. Jonathan Reynoso later doubled down the left field line to score two more runs. Mario Canales got the win, pitching the final two innings. Darren Davis, who started the game for the Pioneers, struck out six in his three innings of work, increasing his record-breaking season strikeout total to 106. Myers ended up with a team-high four RBI in Wayland's 21st victory of the season. Brett Cook had a game-high three hits, including a solo home run. Armando Garza and Johnathan Torres also went yard for the Pioneers, who had 15 hits, but committed four errors leading to four unearned runs by ENMU. WBU closes out the regular season this week with an important three-game series against Lubbock Christian University, beginning Thursday evening at Wilder Field. The series moves to Lubbock on Friday, then ends on Saturday back in Plainview for Senior Day. All three games will begin at 6:30.
  12. ya, lemire is having a GREAT year. i talked to him the other day, and he said they are ranked 1 in the nation, and gave me his stats...like he's playin a video game in real life, haha, crazy good numbers, keep it up man. i will say, little disappointed not to see any love for me up there on that list of local college players, but its all cool, not many people knew where i went to. so mr. landry, add me to that list, that way maybe there is someone out there that might be slightly interested in checkin up on me, haha (not looking for sympathy or nothin, im just jokin) BJ Myers (BC) Wayland Baptist University [Hidden Content] (school website) [Hidden Content]/c/c01a04/ (sports *baseball* website) they got me pitchin and catchin up here...been throwin actually very good lately, haha good luck to all the players in the 'next' level...baseball sure is different out of high school, haha
  13. i still have different feelings about this one...57?! if that's not bush league baseball, then i dont know what is...would be different if the score was 57-54 or somethin like that...but (as a coach, especially a college one) how do you disrespect and run up the score LIKE THAT?! this aint no "hey, hold up at third, were ahead by 12..." im surprised the players didn't get into a fight over this one...because if i was getting beat by a team by 50+, i'd be very furiated... ...and how did the opposing coach NOT forfeit...after they were down by 40? haha
  14. (*as taken from [Hidden Content]*) "Myers went back to the mound in the ninth, again retiring the Buffs in order, but not without a "Nuke LaLoosh" moment. With two down, the freshman from Bridge City, Tex. somehow threw the first pitch to WT right fielder Justin Graham up and over the 35ft. cover of the Wilder Field grandstand."
