1.
When I got the word today, it made my day. Tyler is a throw back. He played for us 3 years at Babe Ruth and even came back to coach with us after he went off to college. He would be the 1st guy at the yard (Babino beat him a few times), either helping with field, hitting in cage or helping a youngster in the bullpen before the games. Tyler earned this, and we wish him the best.
That's the way he has always done things. He really shows his love for the game, always keeping involved in whatever way he can. Really surprised me last summer when I looked down in the 1st base coaching box out in mid-county for Babe Ruth and saw Tyler standing there, but I can't really say it shocked me. That's just how he is, always wanting to be involved. I know with his work ethic, he is really going to make a name for himself.. He knows he wasn't blessed with a fire-balling right arm, but he continues to overcome and keep his career going. Can't wait to see what happens in the future!
2. There is plenty in DT. As long as you're willing to walk a bit, you can get a parking spot as cheap as $5. The closer you get to the athletic venues, the more expensive the spot is.
3. Lumberton's Tyler Wilson - 09 Graduate - Who is currently playing at Lon Morris JC in Jacksonville, will be signing with Tennessee Tech University out of the Ohio Valley Conference. TTU has won that conference the previous 2 seasons, and also beat Alabama in a Regional. Any of you that know Tyler know how hard of a worker he is, and I can't wait to see what he does with his career at TTU.
4.
After the year he had last year, you would think he would be a lock to make the team. [Hidden Content]
Isn't this a local guy?
5. Gonna be very tough to overcome, we'll see what Towles is made of!
6. how do you KNOW?! no one knows! he has never ever failed a steroid test, and he has probably been tested more than anybody! CONGRATS BARRY! even though it wont last but a couple of years cuz of arod! ;D
7. no offense denis, but your nuts! no one in major league baseball wants to put there hands on brad "blow another game" lidge. ESPECIALLY for clay buchholz, he is the NUMBER 1 prospect in the entire red sox organization. he will probably be the number 3 starter in their rotation next year. he's one of the best pitchers in minor league baseball, no one's giving that up. sure, i'd LOVE to see buchholz come to houston, but it WILL never happen!
8. lol CHILLLL DUDE!!! softball will be here in a few years .. its not that they approved soccer before softball, its that soccer already had a place to play. you cant say, "ok, in 2007, lamar will have SOFTBALL!!!" this isn't like the movie benchwarmers, they can't build a stadium in one day.. lol so CHILL! it's coming..
9. i'd have to say probably chris babin at lumberton. can't really think of any other extremely solid RB's to come out of lumberton.
10. mcneese has something like that because the have a football team. lol
11. A few years back, a rookie named jeff francoeur got the call up from AAA, and not one person could get him out. at all! much like pence nowadays. Francoeur was on the cover of SI with the title "The Natural". everyone said that francoeur would be a 40 HR guy. but last year, he only hit 29, and this year at the all-star break, he only has 10. so the big league pitchers figured out how to get him out. will pence have the same fate?
12. yeah i agree. mitchell was very good in highschool. not sure what happened in college though.
