  1. I would think if we can play with them we should be o.k.
  2. I would think from what i have heard is that they would compare to a very good 3a. Could beat alot of 4a teams also I think.
  3. Ur right, I think it may be in our best interests to delay this game a few years.
  4. Sounded like a good scrimmage. Liberty scrimmages Kelly Thursday. I believe we'll have our hands full if they were able to hang with Silsbee and Nederland.
  5. Hardin will be ok in their district. I think they'll be on the bubble as far as making the playoffs cause they do have some good teams in that district. Hardins QB looked good in the 7 on 7 earlier in the year but he had alot of heat on him yesterday and in my opinion didn't look near as good as i would have expected. However in the 2A ranks they probably will be able to protect him better. If he does have time to throw you'll have to lookout cause they have some really good receivers who can go up and get the ball. The Villamez boy played RB and TE, he didn't catch any passes yesterday but he also looked awesome in 7 on 7 earlier in the year. He did run the ball a few times and made Hardins only TD on about a 15-20 yard run in which he broke numerous tackles. I believe this boy will be playing college football somewhere after he graduates ( he's only a junior ). Hardin's weak spot is in their line play, both offensive and defensive. Also not alot of overall speed. They do have a few boys who can run but overall not a very fast team.
  6. How did you guys do ETBU? Sounds like Cleveland may be at the top of the heap at this stage. Liberty looked better than I thought they would but we still have alot to get better at.
  7. You lost count somewhere there slick.... Kountze 2 Colmesneil 1 That sounds a little more like it. Scoring 15 tds is scoring just about every play
  8. I do remember him but cant think of his name. He lasted 1 season. Cant think of any others though. Dayton does seem to have alot more discipline problems than Liberty does. At least as long as I remember and I went to school in Dayton myself.

Where Will You Be? « Reply #34 on: Today at 01:19:42 PM » Quote Modify Remove -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It was just a scrimmage and both teams got some good work in. For Liberty, I thought they looked really sharp on offense and ran the ball with authority most of the day. Lots of good running backs and the offensive line pretty much controlled the line of scrimmage. The Liberty defense looked good other than the one run by Villamez ( that boy is awesome ). I dont think Hardin had a run over 5 yards besides the one by Villamez for the TD. Liberty needs better play from their cornerbacks. Hardin completed about 3 passes downfield that I thought all of them shoulda been intercepted. The QB from Hardin was running for his life most of the day and most of his passes were just thrown up for grabs. They are really going to miss last years QB Nolan. I thought other than Villamez the other bright spots for Hardin were their receivers, who I think are pretty young but they do go after the ball. The Stelly kid is also all over the field on defense and made some good plays. I think what Hardin lacks is depth which I guess that comes from being a 2A school. Liberty definitly needs work at the corners and better pass protection. All in all I think it was a productive scrimmage for both teams and it showed what they need to work on. For the record, Liberty's first team scored 2 tds to Hardins 1. Hardin was stopped at the goal line on their 2nd possesion. Liberty's backups scored twice to hardins 0. 10. your right oldtimer, the cummings boy was a good player but a major disipline problem. Good for about 2 personal fouls per game.
  11. RIDDICK WAS A DEFFENSIVE LINEMAN Ur right, I was thinking of Charles Cummings. James Riddick is a good player however
  12. Like i've said before, scrimmages are just practices against another team and no real indication how they would result in a real game. This should be a very good and intense scrimmage between two really good teams.
  13. Alot of people liked Coach Stewart however we have moved on with Coach Deel. Good luck to Stewart and his family and we are proud to have Coach Deel running the program now.
  14. We don't want no part of Dayton. Thank you very much. :-*
  15. I hope everybody doesn't get all worked up over this scrimmage. After all its just a scrimmage and alot of kids will see action in it so it should be just what it is, a practice game. Doesn't mean a whole lot other than getting timing down and hitting someone other than your own players for a change. Just the fact that Liberty and Hardin playing against each other has created a little buzz. Good luck to both teams and hopefully nobody gets hurt.
  16. I might be wrong but I think James Riddick was a offensive lineman. He is a good one.
  17. Going to Hardin Sat. morning to watch Liberty and Hardin play then I'll sneak over to Dayton and watch WOS and Dayton get after it.
  18. Are you saying I'm playing favorites ;D , I just call it a form of home field advantage Have a great season AFC 77
  19. For Liberty I'd say Anthony Chambers and Tony Bua
