  1. I hope you're right! Nothing, short of the Astros making the playoffs, would give me more satisfaction than knowing that Clemens and Pettitte were stuck playing golf in October instead of under the bright lights on the mound at Yankee Stadium. Come on Red Sox!
  2. These guys are Lamar's first, and probably only, real shot at a Division 1 National Championship. I will definitely be following all the action at the Regionals on the live scoring via the internet! C'mon JMay - get excited!
  3. It sure would be nice to start seeing some scores from 2010 and continuing forward!
  4. I was at the game last night - It was pathetic! And the natives(fans) are restless. Boos in the second inning. For a while there, I thought Arroyo had a shot at a no-no, but it does get harder the second and third time through the lineup. The sticks have to get going - the pitching has been allrfight for the most part (notwithstanding Albers start last night), but you can't win if you don't score any runs. Berkman and Lee have to get it going in a hurry!
  5. I hope for his and the team's sake, that he has matured and is ready to play ball. A solid point guard was the Achilles heel of this team all year. Cut down on the turnovers and set up the offense, and this season may have turned out a little nicer.
  6. I didn't say that he should get in based on the MVP or ROY. But his entire body of work gets him in I think. The fact that he was one of the best players in the game for about ten years gets him in the HOF. Regarding your Gold Glove award argument. Adam Everett has yet to win a Gold Glove, is he not a great defensive shortstop. Ryne Sandberg won too many, Brad Ausmus should not have won his last year. More often than not, the Gold Glove is a sham.
  7. Exactly, an MVP and A ROY and perhaps the best player at his position for a decade. On top of that, he was an excellent base runner, excellent first baseman (just ask Ken Caminiti - or yoou should have asked him), and a heady player. Add to that he played in the greatest pitchers park since the Polo Grounds and I say he gets in. Not a first ballot guy, but gets in. Adding Jeff Bagwell does not water down the Hall of Fame.
  8. Doesn't surprise me - Philly fans are the worst! And it doesn't matter what sport either.
  9. I think so. Anybody that understands the way the game is played understands what these two have done in their respective careers and the importance they have had in the game. For a significant period of time, each of them were in the first tier of names you would mention when talking about the elite players in the game.
  10. Be patient - I expect an announcement sometime this summer.
  11. If they continue to play as well as they did this week, they will definitely be in the hunt!
  12. This may be the best chance that LU ever has at a National Championship. C'mon Cards! Hit em long and straight!
  13. I agree JMay - the hitting is definitely there, but it only takes one bad pitching performance and you're behind the eight ball in the tourney. This team has not shown consistent enough pitching, or defense for that matter, to make them the favorites in the SLC torney!
  14. Hall committed a couple of months ago. Is there any news on any one else?
  15. Any body have any news on who Lamar signed today?
  16. Reports on another website have the game moved to WEdnesday at 6:30 due to weather.
  17. When is the last time that LU beat Rice? I don't see them coming close this year. Not with the defense the Cards are playing lately. Hopefully I am wrong.
  18. Aggies don't lie, cheat or steal, - but they are proficient at dropping f-bombs and homosexual slurs!
  19. Gregg Doyel of CBS Sportsline thinks that the smart hire for UK would be Gillespie. And . . . Gillespie has yet to sign his extension at aTm. Just a thought . . .
  20. But they are building a seperate field house for soccer and football. And the University would not be spending that kind of money just so they could host HS football games. Neither would they be adding women's soccer and women's softball without a plan to add football.
  21. They are also getting money for the softball fields and they are scheduled to be completed at the same time. That way, the softball team is in place and ready to go so there are no problems with Title IX. THey are not doing anything backwards. There are some pretty intelligent people over there that aare doing this thing the best way they can. Let's all get behind them and get college football back in this area. I'll be buying season tickets and coming over from Houston for games on Saturdays. I can watch my Red Raiders on tv, I'd rather see Lamar in a revamped CArdinal Stadium!
  22. I think he'd be carzy not to declare this year. At worst, he's the number two pick in the draft and is guaranteed millions of dollars. What happens if next year he regresses or (God forbid) has an injury that slows him down. You go when your stock is at its highest. That's right now for Kevin Durant!
  23. Word is that Gilligan plans on using 5 or 6 pitchers tonight. Sounds like the plan is not necessarily to win, but get some kids some quality innings out of conference.
