Yeah, WB is is the team that competed in the big league tournament. Are you Kidding? There were kids there from all over on that team.But let me assure you, If WB's varsity would played, all of the kids, they would have won the world series with ease. And the big league team did not go two and out after getting through this area, they kicked out two teams in the state tournament and were second place. Last time I checked, second place in the state of TX was pretty dang good. The only reason I stopped "Talking Smack" on this website is B/C people like 643 make me sick on this website. If he reaaly is an old man with eight boys that all went to the pros and are waiting to get into the hall of fame like he sais he is, then he needs to start acting like it and congratulate the big league team on what a great run they had, and drop it. There, I've said my peace, and am retiring from this website for good, because I know 643 is gonna come up with some comment to disgrace the integrity of this website and the many members that simply want to talk baseball, not 3a, 4a, or 5a baseball...just baseball. The 07 West Brook Squad would have benefited from playing down only if the surrounding schools could have put together an all star squad to face them. Pretty much the all SETX team MIF04 put together, minus the WB players. This would have been one heck of a game, and I would have loved to see what the outcome would have been. oh yeah, well my sons both play on the NY Yankees and I watch them pitch every Friday night on ESPN. Top that 643. By the way , is that the year you were born, b/c you sure are living in the past man.

They were state runner up and faced pitching and hitting equivalent to a 5a high school team. I say this because if it was equivalent to a 3a or 4a team, people would say they didn't play competition like they should, b/c 3a and 4a teams aren't as good as 5a teams on average...period.

WB was a team full of very good individual talent in 07, but could not seem to pull together and make a good run in the playoffs. This is one of the best teams WB has seen, or will see in the future for that matter for a long time. Their premature exit from the playoffs could have been blamed on many things this year, but the simple fact of the matter is that WB didn't play as a team, but rather as a group of individuals, and when you do that no matter how good you are you will not win in the end. WB proved that this year, and the NY Yankees do their very best to disprove this theory every year for the past five seasons, and you see where it has gotten them.

Wow, you are smart aren't you. It's Big league, not senior, and these kids didn't exactly sign their life over to Babe Ruth when they signed up. Unlike you, some of us can do more than one thing at a time.

Herre is what would happen. WB would run out of pitching by the third game and all of the area teams would save their ace for WB. Every game would be close, but I think the main goal of all the other teams would be to beat WB, not win the tournament. But then again who knows, maby teams would swallow their pride and admit WB is better after this tournament. That is the only good thing that would come out of this.

This is no joke. If these boys win state, they head off to Arkansas, and from there they go to South Carolina to compete in the world series against teams from other regoins of the U.S. and many different countries including China, South Korea,Mexico, and many more.

This is just like little league allstars, junior league, or senior league allstars. Big league is 17-18 year old kids that are from district 12. There is a big league world series just like there is a little league world series except it is held in South Carolina. Two new additions to the team are Tim ferguson of Ole Miss and Jimmy Johnson of Ozen. This team has shaped up to be pretty good and looks to go as deep as possible in there run for the world series.

The big league allstars recently won the section against long time foe...Tomball. Anchored by two great pitching performances by Josiah Svoboda and Dakota Balfanz( who was 4 for 5 with three doubles in the championship game), the allstars look ahead to state with high hopes. Cameron Alexander and Matt Serna each had homeruns in the best of three series. In the past I have dogged 3A schools saying they arent competitive as 5A, but recently I had a revelation. HF has 16 returning starters and should compete this year. Ill say it right now that they can beat the WB JV possibly the varsity. I will be watching HF next year and wish them well. Keep it real guys!!!!

Nate Svoboda. As a sophmore last year he was 8-0 with a era in the mid twos. look for big things from this kid in the future.

Yes WB is not on the list 643.....but that's because nobody on that list comes close to the talent that WB has. WB is in a league of its own when it comess to SETX baseball.Go read the 21-5a all district thread for this year, that should explain everything I'm trying to say.

Can we please focus on the teams still in it? Wait until playoffs are over, then you can fantasize about how great your home town team is going to be.

Just goes to show you how much people know about West brook, if you would have seen these guys play you'd know why the entire 1st team is WB. Look at the stats and then maybe you will figureitout. Please don't try and take anything away from these guys this season, they have played their hearts out.
