1. I am not surprised SC is as good as we are now. There were to many experienced players coming back this year. I can see the team being this good for a while, unless the upcoming HISD rezoning guts the school.

BH's RB???!!!!  Really???!!!  You can't be serious. W/o the sneaky option, none of BH's RB's pose a threat.  Their offense is like running a trick play each down. It makes even marginal backs look good. Just look at Vidor.  If it were not for deception, that team isn't running on anyone.
This has nothing to do with SC vs Georgetown but........this is about the stupidest quote I have ever read. Is a quarterback only good if he drops back and passes on a 5 step drop? Play action would be deceptive and that makes even marginal QB's look good. Deception and dealing with it are part of the game........heck, we ought to throw any stats for a running back that played in the wishbone out of the books.........he isn't any good.....it was smoke and mirrors. Reminds me of obama's "you didn't build that" flub
I stand by my quote.  I don't see any player on BH or Vidor being able to line up in a traditional pro set and rack up yards.  The occasional play action does help a QB, but also takes advantage of an over blitzing defense.  Why don't most major college programs or pro teams run this style of offense?  Vidor had 5 -10 yard head starts on SC's linebackers and couldn't out run them.  Dakota Allen's highlight reel shows him repeatly running down Vidor's backs.  Without the deception, those guys wouldn't get anywhere running behind a fullback.
I totally agree. Vidor's RBs were run down all night long against SC. I think if Vidor had the wishbone in their bag of tricks, they could be a bigger force.(since they already use deception.) Vidor's biggest problem is still the lack of a pass game.
 3. Most of the sacks this year has been from Dakota Allen. He has been able to see holes in the offense and rush in from the QB blindside.
 4.
BHJustWin has seen the light! I'm getting reports about Georgetown and I'm hearing they're similar to Dayton on defense!  Could this be true?  I'm hearing this from those that have watched GTown's tapes.  They said the Gtown's D line is good but they have some undersized guys (a linebacker and a lineman).  Their DB's are not looking good on tape.  I gotta get the report on their offense.  These same sources were accurate about Crosby, BH, and Dayton.  We'll see if they're right again. SUMMER CREEK BEATS GEORGETOWN IN A ROUTE!  VIDOR WILL BE THE TOUGHER OF THE TWO OPPONENTS.  YOU HEARD IT HEAR FIRST!!!
The youtube vids show GT weak on cross route passes/short passes, but their DB are strong on passes to the sidelines. Their defense is strong everywhere against the run. The Offense seems to rely on medium/long passes to the sideline a lot, with 4+ receivers ( I think I saw 6 receivers on one play). I didn't see much running from GT.
 5.
So everybody is still doubting SC?  I really wish I could have seen some of Gtown's games.  The biggest wildcard is their DB's.  If these guys aren't running 4.5's or better, they won't be able to keep up with SC's receivers.  Greg Hogan went to state in track.  Torrey Johnson is another speed demon.  De'Quann Ruffin is the slowest of the bunch, but as a 3rd receiver he's pretty darn good (has a college offer to prove it).  If their DB's are strong and physical, maybe they'll try bump-n-run to throw off our timing & routes. On the flipside, SC must play their best defense for 4 quarters.  We need some turnovers.
I found quite a few videos on GT on youtube. There is a complete GT pflugerville game online, and a good early season GT scrimmage showing the defense. the vids made me pause and stop looking past GT.

On his Sr walk the announcement was he was going to do his 2 year mission before entering BYU to play football and become a Dr like his dad... I wish him the best in whatever tickles his fancy...
I agree. Life is too short to do what you do not want to do. Quick question: Has Vidor always had players playing on both sides of the ball? Maybe if Montana had only played offense, he would have been more of a threat on Friday. It can get very tiring, very fast, playing on one side of the ball, against a good competitor. I can only imagine how it could be playing both sides of the ball.

All Nederland's hopes n dreams are squashed when/if they play Summer Creek. I know many posters don't believe A + B = C predictions, but if Nederland played Dayton close (the game could have been 21-14), then Nederland looks to get blown out by SC. SC needs to beat an excellent Georgetown team, then look out. I can't see SC scared of rematches against BH or Crosby. Nederland looks very beatable. The team that has my eyebrows raised is DAWSON.
You can't win if you can't score, its been WOS's claim to fame under Hooks and Thomson forever. Although Nederland offense is still sputtering, Their defense is not and is as solid as any playoff defense I have seen in person in my 18 years of neglecting my family to watch as many playoff games as possible. Dayton could have very easily been a shutout. A short field due to a very questionable call and one busted play was all that kept Dayton from a shut out. Otherwise, Nederlands offense only let them get close enough for Carranco to miss a long field goal. Defense wins champoinships... brother we got some defense this season. All Nederlands offense typically needs is 10-14 points to win, and they can do that all day long against anyone. Im not saying they will win another game, or win it all. Im just saying this Nederland defense is not going to give away points, you are going to have to earn it and my moneys on them in a low scoring game.
A question: Did Nederland play all starters for the entire Vidor game? Sc was playing second string in most of the fourth quarter against Vidor, and Vidor struggled to move the ball. It took Vidor a while to make their final score against the SC second string.
Don't know, but we held them to a lot less points than you did.
Ok, cool. Has Vidor always had players playing on both sides of the ball? Maybe if Montana had only played offense, he would have been more of a threat.

We should do fairly well until then. If we are VERY lucky to get past Pearland, everything else will be a huge fight to the championship.
You mean Nederland...
Are you saying you guys are going to beat Pflugerville, and Pearland/Stratford before getting past Pflugerville?? And before you say I have said the same about SC, if you read more of my posts, I have recinded the the post about Pearland being our toughest obstacle. GT is going to give us a major test on Saturday.
 10.
Montana will be serving a mission for his church before attending BYU. That's why you can't find his official commitment.
I wonder what he really wants to do. If I wanted to really play football, then I would not risk losing my edge by serving a mission. He could possibly do just as good religiously by becoming a Tim Tebow character of college football. However, if he has his heart set for serving a mission, I applaud him for not going for the low hanging fruit of college football. He could always try to work out while serving a mission to stay in shape, and then try to walk-on a team.

 13. "Vidor needs a legit passing attack n your team would be REALLY dangerous." If Vidor had a legit passing attack, it would be Vidor playing on Saturday. The run strategy takes too long to score, when a team get's behind. A pass strategy would allow a team to score quickly, and close the gap quickly.

He has the mental skills, and There have been small players  his size who have succeeded in college, and pros, but not many lately. I can't see him playing QB anywhere. (there are just too many HS QB who have a more well rounded game (pass, and run QB's with experience)) I can see him being a running back, or safety. (if he gains 20lbs, so he can survive college level hits.)
Actually, after seeing the stats of Alabama's player's, Vidor's Montana could possibly play there, and some other teams. Quite a few players there are his size, and are starters.
