End of 1st qtr 14-0 not looking good for the Pirates but they are driving deep into Lumberton territory finally. Have to score some points on this drive but now it’s 4th and 5 at the 34 yard line.

Pirates in business at the Ltown 34 better capitalize on this good fortune, they looked dead in the water now have a little spark.

And immediately broke a 50 yard run on the next play wow what a turn of events.

Lol Pirates just took the ball from the Ltown RB at the 1 yard line as he was mowing people down on his way to the end zone.

Hopefully Vidor fans can add beating Lumberton to the recurring theme after the next game.

Guilty as charged on your first point but I’d never want our AD/HC ran out of town. Because I have seen over the years how he builds those kids up and know what he can do with a good group of talent. Making a big change like that and bringing someone new in doesn’t always work out and I don’t think there would be any big name, good coaches knocking the doors down to coach at Vidor. Admittedly I was not impressed with the coordinators early on and thought we could be doing some things differently. I have felt that way at times for the past several seasons but apparently they are trying new things, making changes and opening it up a little bit. Second point, I’m sure 7 is not all they have but it felt that way last night. Nobody else really got it going and I would have used him even more. We simply could not stop him, very good RB but I wouldn’t be using him on defense against a team like Vidor. To your 3rd point, if we move up then we move back up. No big deal, I’d like to see us playing PNG and Ned again. 5a may have some good teams but there are also some programs that aren’t all that consistent. The Pirates have shown in the past they can compete and win there.

Maybe they can transfer over the Chain Gang defense or Blue Link whatever the hell WOS calls it now.

Playoffs… you talking about playoffs??? What is their head to head record, Vidor pushes his team around every time. He might have all the fancy toys but at the end of the day, it’s just LCM. They might be fun to watch, high scoring with big plays and all that but when you challenge them physically this is what happens. They could have used 7 like a battering ram and bludgeoned us to death but no. Lets pass it around with a QB who isn’t accurate all the time to receivers who don’t catch it all the time.

Wrong the ball didn’t even go 10 yards… I’m pretty sure the refs had a better look than you.

When you watch Vidor play against a team that can’t stop the run the defense stays on the field too long, gets tired and can’t tackle or beat blocks. Then their offense comes out and scores quickly on big plays, it’s hard for coaches to play conservative and keep their offense on the field longer to give their defensive guys a breather. LCM could have easily lined 7 up all night long at wildcat or just give him power run handoffs and chewed up clock, got first downs and tried to beat Vidor at their own game. Some coaches won’t do it they love taking deep shots and looking for big plays. Huffman the last few years has been a good example of a team that could play the same strategy and beat the Pirates with a similar style, then switch it up against other teams.

The QB they had last year was tough as nails, I liked him but when your defense can’t stop the run it doesn’t matter who the quarterback is I guess.
