  1. Hey Catman.  I saw Grapeland and they are good.  New Coach has them getting after it.  Big, Big team and some solid young guard play.
  2. It has been 3 yrs running and I am sure you have not read all the post. His opinion is his, but no more at my kids or me without me speaking up. I spoke my peace. I think your not in this. As far as winning the thing, we will do our best......Not like we are not trying my man. Ya it just breaks my heart for Summerville, don't seem fair for two yrs in a row for him. He is in great spirits after surgery. He will return Feb. 1.
  3. Dang Catman...you are always on Cayuga. We had a dang good season last year 21-4 condsidering we did not start til Dec 28, due to football. And we lost our best player to ACL injury. (lost him again Friday night broken tib and fib out 16 weeks).....I really get tired of the crap from you. Our kids work thier butts and over the last 4 years.... we are 91-20 OVER LAST 4 YRS have started late very late each yr and made the reg. tourn 3 straight and every year you run your head. Get of my kids. Coach Boxell told me once that the hardest thing to do is get out of the regional tourn. and he always reminded that MANY TEAMS OR COACHES NEVER MAKE....WE ARE 3 YRS AND COUNTING ......RANKINGS ARE JUST WHAT THEY ARE......If this seems unprofessional....I dont care. Enough from you. Coach Jenkins Cayuga.
  4. Man, we will have to be lucky also. Big Sandy is very good again. They have been playing a real tough schedule. We really respect Coach F and his program. We are so far behind(football) we may never catch up to the fundamental teams like Big Sandy. Best of luck and if that happens look forward to meeting ya.
  5. FOOTBALL MAN! FOOTBALL 24/7!!!! FEB. 18 target date on Summerville return. Doc says all is on target or ahead. That would be the 5 month from surgery date. He is working like a mad man to get back. Kids are just learning to play without him and doing great so far vs. some monster competion... @ Crockett Tuesday..
  6. Game was 60-60 with 1:28 to go and 61-60 with :45. Goodrich is great. Proud of the Cayuga effort after 1 practice and a shoot around. Off. execution will get better with time....just getting started. No execuse just need some gym time. Good luck to Coach King and his team.
  7. Shead averaged 10/10 as a FR and 11/10 as a Soph.....He can play the 1-5 spots and is as good as any def. player you will ever see. He is 6'3 210 and can guard the PG or the 5. The hardest working kid you will ever see on the D end. He is on his way to becoming the #2 leading rusher in the history of Texas High School Football and is most likely headed to UT to play football....so it would not be fair to compare him as the same talent on the court as the FBF.
  8. My bad Catman you are correct. Will be interesting to see just how long it takes to get going. Kids are beat up from 19 weeks of football and to be honest really needed the 5 day off period to get semi-fresh heading into a monster schedule leading up to district play. Summerville has been cleared for jogging and shooting and is on track to return(95%) around end of Feb. or about playoff time.... possibility we will not let him play at all this year. He is a Jr. and will get his college paid for so we must be smart for the kiddo. Just has worked like a champion to get back. Yes he will be hard to replace...... 16 pts and 8 RB per game out of a 6'4 (2) guard.....We do get a 6'3 260 kid back that tore ligaments in his ankle last year and missed the whole season. He is a beast under the bucket and we missed him last year baaaaaaaaaaaddd. See ya on the 3rd. Oh ya the JVB game starts @ 12 then VG then VB. All you Goodrich folks tell Coach Bennett from Shepard to get to this game. Tell him Jenkins ask about that camp rash he festered up last year working the AggieCamp. Good fella hope he makes it.
  9. Today is Christmas Eve and Cayuga has not picked up a basketball...ZERO....just played for the State Championship in football....1 day of practice on Sat. and headed to the Whataburger Tourney in Ft. Worth Mon-Tues. Wed......then on down to Goodrich on Sat.......Answer your own question Catman....Goodrich in mid-season form and Cayuga in pre-scrimmage form....who you think wins? It is what it is!!!!!!!!!!!Our #1 ranking is a joke---we are 0-0!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. AGGIE----THAT IS VERY TRUE! THANKS! Catman, your smile is beautiful. See ya later.
  11. We at Cayuga feel we should have made it last year--just like these other coaches feel or as you say "wondered how we did not make it last year"---I am sure many other teams around the state feel that thier team should have made it.. First of all, give Spurger alot of the credit. They did what it took to win. Second, we were 3/13 at the FT in the 4th Qtr (missed 6 straight at one point up 6)and that had a major impact on the final result. We were 9/13 going into the 4th. We were 27-4 and feel the Spurger game was one of our worst games. Again, take nothing from Spurger...they were well coached and very talented and DESERVED THE W. The good thing is we were very young. Our top 9 rotation was 1 Sr. 6 SOPH. and 2 FR. We get one back next year (6'3 245 he looked great in Slocum this past weekend) from a FB injury that will be a major impact. Yes we have a shot next year..... but Big Sandy will have A BIG BIG SAY SO IN THAT! We are proud/disappointed in last years outcome and we look forward to the future and the oppurturnites our kids have in both basketball and football. We are shooting FT in our sleep right now! LOL
  12. Yes Martins MIll beat us by 3 and Frankston beat us by 1 and Goodrich beat us by 20. We have lost three games. We beat Martins Mill by 7 and 8. I never said Cayuga was not beatable all teams are beatable. Best of luck.
