Dakota should play at TCU or OU, Sharp should go to Baylor, K-St, or I've been reading he's leaning Miss St as of late but it could just be from camp. I don't know even if Aaron has a big season if he'll get any bigger offers, most of the top programs already have their guy.
Agree with your picks ...but offers and commits can be soft these days.  Everybody wants to win and loyalty doesn't trump winning.  Both guys have an entire season to shine ...it may increase or decrease their stock.  I see late commits from both players.  This verbal offer/verbal commit thing is really interesting.  I believe the NCAA pushed back National Signing Day to February and it started all this verbal offer business.  If SC has the season they should, both Sharp and Allen can sing "Back Then They Didn't Want Me, Now I'm Hot They All On Me!"
I don't think it's going to get bigger than OU for Dakota, he's somewhat limited by his height. The SEC could come calling late with decommitments but he needs to get a spot in a recruiting class in case he gets injured during the offseason or next year. Dakota could still impress recruiters with his versatility and production next year, it doesn't get much better than what Sharp did last year. You have to remember guys like Hubanek and KD Baker threw for well over 4000 yards and weren't very highly recruited after playing in state title games so unless there's a decommit somewhere I don't think Sharp can be anymore impressive than a nearly 6 to 1 td to pick ratio over his career. It's just a rough year to be a qb with all the talent around the country. What I would be worried about is why Baylor told Sharp they wanted him as a receiver but offered a qb scholarship to a kid that was a backup last year and hasn't started a varsity game. LSU feels the same way though which tells me there's either a consensus on his arm strength or mechanics by the big schools.
Keep it real Cougar14, don't just say "a kid"  , let everybody know that's RANDALL CUNNINGHAM JR. 14.
SCitis, they took down or re-doing Brandon Harris hudl film but if you would have compared those two you would see what I'm talking about. Harris' YouTube film is a little misleading. He is a more polished passer than Heard at this stage of their development, but Heard runs WAY better than Harris does and possesses a stronger arm with pretty good mechanics. Heard is also going to probably play in that 210-220 range which is a plus for durability. Heard had offers after his sophomore year when Guyer was in 5a and lost in the second round. Colbert just lost in the 5A D1 title game and doesn't have a single BCS offer. Maybe you can say Bonney is hype but I think he can play. I think Heard is the next Steve McNair, only problem with that is if Swoopes gets it figured out he's probably the next Cam Newton and Jerrod doesn't play much unless Ty leaves early.
No way Heard arm is stronger than Harris.....and remember Heard always has been loaded with talent around him. Always, better lineman as well as other skill players
Aaron is dealing with the same thing as Johnny Football. He wants to be a Longhorn but they already have a commitment from the top qb in the state and in my opinion from watching the film the 2nd best dual threat in the country behind deshawn watson. Sharp plays the game well from the head up and moves well but he's a little thin and arm strength could be an issue in a vertical passing game. He runs well and is fast but he's not a natural runner like Heard who rushed and passed for over 2000 yards. Heard also has a cannon attached to his shoulder where Sharp's strength is accuracy instead. If he's worried about committing to Baylor because of Randall Cunningham who has never even thrown for a 1000 yards he'll really be looking over his shoulder because UT is usually going to get the best qb that stays in-state. Over street was never going to play qb either, they just didn't want him to go to Michigan so they told him he would get a shot. Connor Brewer was the number one qb in the country before the all American game and will never take a snap at Texas.
Correct. He is not a natural runner, and that's by choice I believe....I'm hearing Baylor doesn't want Sharp as QB because they want Randall Cunningham....and IMO I don't know what film you watched, but Heard is not #2, he has an arm but not consistently accurate .....Brandon Harris is wayyyy better than Heard
Girl what film are YOU watching? Heard is rated #1 in the composite rankings which take all the recruiting services into account but Harris is #1 on 247. Harris is a one year starter but he is on a good team yet and still he's not playing the level of competition Heard is. You do know year before last Denton Guyer was 5a playing the likes of Cedar Hill, Copell, and Southlake Carroll with a 4a enrollment and went to the second round with Heard throwing for over 2200 as a sophomore. If I was Sharp and wanted an in-state opportunity I would go to Baylor and try to beat out what they have on the roster and a potential Randall Cunningham, plus the offense suits him a lot better. I'm not sure which one is the top guy but they already have offers out to 2015 qbs. Chason Virgil IMO is the one they really want, I think Stidham is system-esque. K-Sate is probably Aaron's best option though, Bill Snyder has a goot track record of working with Texas HS dual-threats with the likes of Baytown Lee's Ell Roberson and Willis' Michael Bishop. Bishop was an all-american and won the Davey O'Brien as the nations best qb under Snyder. *Just a sidenote. You tell me a better runner of the football from the qb spot in the country. First play of the film says it all in the state championship game on SC's nemesis, runs slap over a kid and knocks him out. 2138 rushing yards and 35 tds for the future Horn. [Hidden Content]
The same Highlight film you watched. Of course they have Heard ranked because he won state. Do you know how much publicity Darrell Colbert from Lamar gets BECAUSE he went to state? I'm telling you Brandon Harris is better. I understand you like Texas players but um, Heard is not better IMO ......not saying Heard isn't good, because he is

I honestly see a lot of solid d2 or d1-aa kids in the 2014 class.  around 8 or so other then Allen and Sharp (obviously d1 kids).  Torrey Johnson looks like he could potentially pick a lower level D1 offer.  other than that, its way to early to tell
IF Johnson had more height, sky's the limit
Im surprised height is hurting Torrey so much in his recruitment. He has the fastest 40 time on the team (sub 4.4 I think). I would think speed/quickness would make up for height a bit.
Have you seen Atascocita? They cannot beat SC in football, and that's right now
Atascocita would wipe the floor with SC in the trenches and that's where it matters. Lets see what happens to sharp when he is running for his life the entire game.
You mean like SC did Vidor? Keep dreaming, I know what I saw...and I watched both teams....they line about the same as ours

Texas and Baylor are the ONLY 2 considering him as athlete....remember they already have their QBs for 2014.....you have other schools like K state and all his others offers recruiting him as QB...it's up to him whether he changes to an athlete once he get on campus

It was very obvious during the Magnolia West playoff game (although Aaron was young). It showed up again in the GTown game. Aaron does better when he tucks the ball and runs when the heat comes.
I agree he did seemed a little rattled during the Gtown game, I felt he forced a couple of passes when he should have tucked and ran. I think the coaches should have called the same game plan for him like they did vs Vidor, and that was more designed run plays, remember Sharp is not your QB that's gonna take off and run after the first read is not there...but I wouldn't say when he's pressured he struggles, he's one of the most poised QBs in district....I believe next year he will run more because he will need to....he's been playing as a Freshman and never had a solid O line
I thought the 2011 oline was pretty good
Nope. We had an okay center and an okay LT, we never had a solid line....
I guess my memory is a bit fuzzy, I don't recall Sharp having to run for his life as often behind that line.
He may not have had to run for his life ALL the time with that group, but he never had a solid good line like some
